The NF isn't red dot quick, but if you've spent any amount of time with something similar like say a 3-9 on a bolt gun for hunting, low mag is still reasonably fast.

Where you really lose to a dot in speed is when you can't mount the rifle in a position you are used to so you can't count on the reticle just being where you are looking when you bring the rifle up.

I've considered moving mine over to the SBR and picking up something with more than 10x for the 18" rifle since it pretty much just lives on the firing line of my local long range.

inside there. there should be brass laser module under tension by twin springs or a leave spring opposite side from zeroing screws. often when zeroing in laser or scope fails its because those spring are out of place or damaged or the turrent is broke.

if twin spring is used each spring is positioned directly opposite it's zeroing screw to keep it under tension against the zeroing screw.


i originally though laser assembly was easily accessible so you could check for those springs or if they are damaged/out of position.

previous owner either screwed zeroing screw too far and destroyed the spring or the screw. or from factory it was lemon cause some idiot forget to install those spring or something

Friday mornings are always slow here, jeeze

So I have a problem in terms of logistics. I'm not sure whether or not to buy 223 or 556 for my rifle. It's chambered for 556, that's not the issue. It's that 223 is cheaper, so I've been gravitating towards it for target shooting, but I also want to have several hundred rounds in storage. The problem there is that I want those to be 556, but then I think that if I store 556 then I should practice with it too so that I'm used to it and not the 223 ammo. So then I think about maybe storing the 223 because it's cheaper, but then I'd want to practice with it. However, I prefer 556 plus it's what my rifle is chambered for. Not to mention all of the issues with bullet weight on top of all this. My rifle is a 1 in 7 twist, and it's difficult finding 75-77gr bullets in 223 or 556. Plus they're often more expensive, to the point where it's 1$/round. The best compromise I've found is tula 75gr 223, which is 6$ for 20 rounds but unfortunately it's never in stock. That leaves IMI 77gr 556 as the only steadily available ammo that fits what I want, but it's so cost prohibitive that I wouldn't shoot nearly as much.

tldr how do I balance cost, frequency of practice, and power? I have a higher preference for 75-77gr 556 because that's what my rifle is setup for, but what I've ended up doing is just getting 55gr 223 because it lets me shoot more often but it's not ideal because I'm not practicing with the ideal ammunition

Anyone know the relation between front sight post distance and how large it appears in your FoV?

I was just thinking because I've got a 16" barrel with the FSP on an A2 post at carbine length I guess, but I could hypothetically put it like 15" out with a long handgaurd. Or maybe at that point it'd just be better to do a whole separate 20" upper.

As for scopes, idk. I'm good with scopes, but I feel I just have so much room for improvement with irons. I can only seem to get good sight picture like 30% of the time. Otherwise I'm either laser focused on the FSP and have no idea where the shot it going or I'm too focused on the target and have no idea where my shot is going.
