In all seriousness, overall not bad, a few things I notice right off the bat though if your open to criticism, is buckled pouches like that can be a pain in the ass if you need to access the magazines quickly. Also I forsee issues with the pistol being placed there, it looks very unstable and unsecure. I can imagine it flopping everywhere when you are running, and possibly even fall off

Not bad though overall, reminds me of a dead island aesthetic.

Buckle pouches can be a pain, and that pistol holster is just so kinds of wrong.

Ready for the cheat code? Stop shopping. Stop eyefucking other people's rigs. Go and do some drills. Sleep on it. Do some more. Do some sprints to cover, try reloading in different positions, do a few burpies, and sleep on it again. Once you have some miles on, you will learn what questions you need to answer. That makes finding the answers a lot easier.

I personally wouldn't bother. I both have the training and have actually used them for IRL injuries on other people, for a run-of-the-mill civilian they are a niche medical item. Have you looked at OPAs? They're easier to use across the board and can be forced through a maxillofacial injury without risking outright fucking killing the guy, unlike an NPA.

Hey all, new to this. I met a guy selling a lot of very specialized kit. Fins to carriers to HALO gear. He doesn't want to say what he did, but I've worked enough info out of him to figure it out. I know there are lots of imposters, but I know this guy is for real.

First he told me he was NSW, and then he revealed he trained on San Clemente island and niland, then served in the middle east.

Am I correct in assuming that SWCC is off the table because of the training he went through, or is it still a possibility? He has duffles of AOR 1 and 2 stuff, unknown if it's crye or whatever.

Among lots of other things, he's selling this.

Can anyone more knowledge on the subject help me figure out what this guy did?

>>
>>33397372
Ebay or avito.ru with a translator.
>>
>>33397346
but isn't an OPA basically a non-starter if the guy is conscious?
>>
>>33397371
SWCC is still on the table. They work in a support role for the Teams in much the same fashion as SFSB's do for SF as well as being boat jockeys. If he was forward-deployed with them then he'd have gotten all the cool-guy gear too.
>>
>>33397371
how about you give us his contact and we can buy some of his shit?
>>
>>33397371
Where is he and can you give more pics of some plate carriers specifically.
>>
>>33397371
>Fins to carriers to HALO gear
If it's his then that narrows it down to SEALS Navy EOD, MARSOC, or STS I think.

>NSW
So SEALS or MARSOC

>He has duffles of AOR 1 and 2 stuff
SEALS seems like the only reasonable fit.
>>
>>33397388
If he's conscious and needs an airway simply wait for him to cease being conscious.

And no more so than an NPA. Shit sux when you're awake.
>>
>>33397397
SWCC isn't typically issued AOR1. Odds are he was either STS attatched to a seal team or a seal, if I see plate carriers that's a dead givaway of team and timeframe.
>>
>>33397420
I've seen them wearing AOR1 in the past though? Yeah granted most of the time they were wearing woodland but they DO get it if they're not a boat jockey and in theater.

Dunno if they ever got AOR2, I got out before it really got issued.
>>
>>33397444
AOR2 is all they wear now, nice trips.
>>
>>33397402

Navy EOD are basically SEALS lite but yeah they're issued AOR 1 iirc not AOR 2, though. But I could be wrong.

There's nothing aside mission set that distinguishes Navy EOD from SEALS besides like devgru super spooks in which case the $50k nods should do it.

I Google imaged crye and patagonia m81 combat shirts and neither of them have that little tab of camouflage fabric at the bottom of the quarter zipper.
>>
>>33397496
that's clearly not a crye cut though. the zipper and the profile of the under arm parts give it away. plus i don't know of any NSW guys who wore woodland Cryes. by the time the Crye NC and AC sets came out NSW had moved on to AOR1 and 2, and unlike MARSOC and SF, SEALS didn't do much in the way of advising woodland wearing ANA.

>for a run-of-the-mill civilian they are a niche medical item.

They're not niche for a run-of-the-mill civilian at all. What run-of-the-mill civilian carries various OPA sizes? Especially on their kit considering this is /gq/.

>Have you looked at OPAs? They're easier to use across the board and can be forced through a maxillofacial injury without risking outright fucking killing the guy.

If you know how to put an OPA in, you know how to put an NPA in. I'll give you maxillofacial injury, but in that case you can also use a King LT or perform a cricothyroidotomy.

>>33397408

Yes.

>>33397408

>If he's conscious and needs an airway simply wait for him to cease being conscious.

...What? If he's conscious and needs airway security, you secure it with an NPA. What field do you work in where you just wait for a patient to pass out before securing an airway when he needs one?

>And no more so than an NPA. Shit sux when you're awake.

NPAs aren't even that bad. I've put two in at the same time on myself because I got bored. If you have a conscious patient struggling to maintain an airway even with position of comfort, head-tilt/chin-lift, and jaw thrust, you put an NPA in.

If your AK is supposed to be your tacticool rifle, at least tacticool it right, and not just cop out and throw a Magpul handguard on it. Get a better sling, a better stock, and an optic.

Your holster setup is just disgusting, and I say that as someone who hasn't even ordered a holster yet.

Chest rigs are called chest rigs for a reason. That shit is supposed to sit a shitload higher so you can actually crouch or lean over without being blocked by your own magazines.

Your choice of glasses is Parkourdude91-tier.

>Very China vibe from this entire picture
Oh, it's all Flyye, I ain't gonna lie, but this shit is where it's at if you're on a budget. I had this and then got a Banshee because of the whole "it's China made shit". The Banshee can't even be compared, this thing is sooo much nicer and better built, it's not even a contest. As far as quality of construction this vest can be compared to American or Russian equivalents, I try to convince anyone shopping for Condor to get this instead.

The pic isn't entirely accurate, I just figured out the other night I can adjust the flaps on the pistol pouch so it lines up the velcro patches perfectly.

In regards to the battery case, I haven't seen the tube one, I was looking at this one :
https://www.amazon.com/Storacell-Powerpax-SlimLine-Military-Batteries/dp/B00AKIQ1RI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1490279603&sr=8-3&keywords=cr123+battery+case

And then putting it, a couple of little rum bottles, and some cleaning tools in a small acc pouch.

More or less building a set up for..

- 2 Gun type shooting (Lack of a better term, "run n gun")

- Innawoods larping (For when I want to go camping but be spooky and not "glamp" with my civvie stuff)

- SHTF general (More of a meme, but just another thing to tailor my kit to)

For lack of a better way to describe.. Im going for a "Division" "Wildlands" aesthetic. So I go for dead bird items in muted civvie colors (Not bright red, but not their leaf line). Or basically just outdoor clothing. The pack is basically built to the same standards I'd pack my day pack in the .mil for like 3 days of patrol base exercises. Basically enough to eat, sleep, and operate, but not really comfortably. It would be perfect if you were say going out to a large piece of land to shoot and camp. But you would be uncomfortable, because all you got for sleeping is a tarp and a poncho liner (Woobie).

>>
>>33402558
Its not a thing to carry THAT MUCH WATER for THAT LONG. You will run out of water eventually. To circumvent this we either carry a ton in a vehicle, don't go that far or know how to produce more. Personally I always keep a lifestraw deal or aqua tabs with me with whatever kit I have. The US militaries literally just drop giant things off in the field.

Usually I take a 3L camelbak and sometimes either a 1L Nalgene bottle or 1 quart canteen w/ cup. If I'm going camping somewhere without much water access I'll also have my 5 quart canteen in my pack or 5 gallon GI water can in my vehicle.

3L bladder, small inline filter, and 2x 1L Nalgenes.

Because of how the bladder sits in its carrier I've never successfully gotten more than about 2.5L in it and fuck pulling it out.

But as Johnson said, the actual .mil takes shitloads of plain ol' disposable water bottles with them in-theater, and on training exercises they pull a water buffalo for refills.

>I'm the long-distance prairiedogger
I also keep at least 2 of the 3L walmart water bottles in my truck for refills/emergency radiator topoff/whatever. If I know it's going to be particularly hot I double down on that. Hot water is still water.

Speaking of, I dug through one of my old tuff-bins and found an old CLS kit. One of the NPA's was hard as a fucking rock and looked to be made out of a rigid, clear plastic. Given its age I'm not sure if it was DESIGNED to be hard or if it'd aged poorly.

Who else carries chemlights on their rig? I carry 4 on my flc and 6 on my ak chest rig
>>
>>33403870
For what purpose? I mean, I could see maybe pair of IR chemlights if you and your buddies have NODs but you'll get actually-usable light and more total hours of light from a mid-tier flashlight/headlamp and a single set of batteries for the same weight and space.
>the only chemlights that provide enough light to see by are the high-output 4 hour deals (provide navigable-levels of light for about 1.5 hours)
>can signal with a flashlight
Their only legit use that isn't done better cheaper by a flashlight is marking cleared rooms, something that the overwhelming majority of people (including military and police) don't need to do.
>>
>>33403870

>>
>>33403870
Innamil I carried plenty (vis and IR) for marking IEDs and cleared paths. Never used them for marking rooms as seems to be common hat among internet operators. Saw the IRs used as night time markings, but never did it myself because having IR glow you can't turn off is bad IR discipline and made me uncomfortable; I definitely saw units get shot at or have their night movements blown from it. Chemlites are nice when you don't have to pay for them.

These days I still have some surplus ones I break out now and then for lulz, but for serious use I've moved to battery powered light sticks. Far brighter, you can turn them off, and you get 60+ continuous hours of light. Really good for a campsite light source along with a headlamp.

Also marking shit. For actual light source we have headlamps. They really dont take up any space and don't weight anything at all so better to have and not need, etc.

what's the least autistic way to keep 4-6 magazines on my person?
>>

6?
Chest rig.
4? 1 in gun and 3 in belt if you're feeling risque but maybe a micro rig.

Chest rigs are pretty range acceptable and a lot less socially autistic than plate carrier.

Does anyone make velcro plate carrier pads for the plate bags that aren't single strips?

I'd rather have lots of little circular pads (kinda like the crye avs ones) since pontoon style ones feel weird to me and so I can keep a fair amount of airflow. That and I dont trust those inflatable pads for shit

Can someone help me with this carrier? What's going on here? There are single buckles that look like they are for the cummerbund but there is velcro on the actual cummerbund.
>>
>>33407841
The buckles are there so if you remove the cummerbund you can still clip the two peices (back and front) together. Under the magazines in the front there is a flap for the velcro so the cummerbunds can attach if you have them on
>>
>>33407912
So is the cummerbund rigged on there or is the carrier made that way? Is the carrier an mbav armor type?
>>
Anyone here run a swimmer put plate carrier? What's the best one out there?
>>
>>33397371
I have never understood the concept of high-cut ballistic helmets. Why would you spend a fuckton of money on a level IIIA helmet when it doesn't even protect the sides of your head? Where do people expect to get shot? At the very crown of the head, by enemy soldiers using jetpacks or parachuting down? At some point in the progression of "less is better, lightweight stuff is best, mobility uber alles," you are leaving utility behind and just wearing a helmet for aesthetics. If you just want a helmet to look cool, get a Bulgarian military surplus steel helmet on eBay for $15.
>>
>>33408004
Some are made that way, mine is. I can remove the cummerbund and use the vest with just the side straps or add the cummerbund and add more real estate and IIIA side coverage.

To put it on the vest goes over my head, snap the side buckles, lift the front flap and close the cummerbund around me, then just close the front flap over the cummerbund and rock on.

You can see it here: >>33400636

My IBA is woodland. Do they make side plate carriers in woodland? I'd even consider decent aftermarket.

Or do I have to change my vest to ACU? Did they even make an interceptor in ACU?
>>
>>33408505

Get a set of Eagle side plate pockets in coyote tan, they're cheap and coyote doesn't look awful on woodland.
>>
>>33406665
Look on ebay, specifically S and S surplus.

>>33407336
Nigga bet you can get a real crye set for under 400
>>
>>33408554
No shit. Actual mil-spec with NSN and all. Thanks anon. ACU on woodland is just fucking horrible.

Woodland over classic desert colors or coyote is the tits. I'd assume these fit plates that "fell off a truck?" Only one ESAPI side I think, they didn't make a SAPI side did they?

They are good clothes. Just remember that you'll be paying for the name mostly.

I've also heard they are sub par to the similar priced combat uniforms such as tru spec and propper in terms of stiching. Bit thay could just be someone shitting me.
>>
>>33410620
I'm mostly getting jackets for wind & rain. No interest in normal weight clothes. Maybe a beanie so I have head camo when I want better than my OD watch cap.

Plus I can wear them around and it is normal looking in my area, unlike ECWCS or military stuff (except for my amazing black fleece jacket which I wear a lot).

DIY burlap camo for packs and weapobs and misc shit. I ain't paying for no overpriced leaf suit bullshit.

All tech reaches a certain point, there's a reason why all economy cars have basically the same layout or why all washing machines are patterned after the original GE model; not to say there aren't Chinese/Russian copies, but there's only so much you can do.
>>
>>33413173
No there are totally completely different ways that Russia could've made a mid-cut helmet! What if they like, went back to the Sphera and just trimmed the ears on that?

People don't realize the best design is what will live on while everything else dies out. No reason to waste money "innovating" if there's already a great idea and you don't already have a better one available.
