It varies (a lot), the mark of truly horrible QC and design.

Yeah sure some are 1.05x, but then along comes a 1.7, with the bulk of them (pretty standard bell curve) being in the 1.2-1.3x range. Which is quite noticeable.

I owned a jap made jag, a USA made cyclone, a jag stang, and a stang-master. The squier Jag is fucking amazing for $300. If it had a super hot humbucker in the neck it'd be perfect. As it is: 8/10. Change it to 11-52s and it's a great stock guitar.

MRO dot is just as good as T2, very little blooming even with my minor astigmatism. It has distinct blue hue, and slight magnification effect. T2 is overall better.
