I keep forgetting how aesthetic that picture is. Also are those the airsoft Crye's he was testing out?

So are there dedicated 7.62 pouches like Taco's and such or will a regular Taco fit 7.62 20 rounders?
>>
>>33242303
A regular TACO will fit 7.62 RFN mags fine. I have run SCAR and AR10 mags out of mine and done alright. Be aware that you will need to leave an empty MOLLE column between them if you plan to do three abreast or the middle one will be useless.
>>
>>33242320
Any options out there for running a 3 shingle 7.62 pouches?
>>
>>33242384
ATS makes an nice open top bungee retention 3x shingle.

Do none of you actually use your gear? I'm not saying its stupid to stock it for SHTF... but like, no one goes hunting with it? Or carries it hiking? etc

I plan to use my junk for hunting otherwise I couldn't justify it.

Some tips:
Bring 3-4 mres or the equivalent in food
Snacks and drink mixes are a real moral booster
Bring 3 pairs of socks minimum
When/if you go to bed strip to base layer and get in sleeping bag
Get water when ever you have a chance
You won't understand the chants the first time, just pick up on them and go with it

it's a full SFLCS kit, what they used to issue to each team guy

as for why they thought each guy needed 6 triple mag shingles and enough double mag pouches to carry 64 mags, fuck if i know

anyways a full SFLCS kit should easily be worth several thousand

honestly i doubt he really has no idea, you can easily google what they went for on ebay auctions

-Multi tool
-Space pen
-Bic Lighter
-Small notepad

>OTG Holster
-G43

>Esstac mag pouch
-Waiting for them to come out with G43 8rnd ones.. ETS is making them, already contacted esstac about it

>New carabiner
-This ones just old, and ive done a lot with it. Time for a new one.
-Small roll of electrical tape

>Gloves

---

Then my first line will be finished. Ill update as I go, obviously some stuff is in mail/not put on/being made/back ordered/etc. But hopefully sooner than later it will be complete. Im on the fence about a dump pouch. I might add it in the future, we will see.
>>
>>33243299
>cans

Just bring drink mix, not worth the weight
Idk how long your ruck is but ounces equal pounds etc etc
>>
>>33243677
Dump pouch is dumb especially with your small of the back IFAK (how's that working by the way I wanna try the same thing) it'll just be crowded. In my very unprofessional inexperienced opinion you want to keep belt light since the heaver it is the more likely to bounce around and rub and be a general pain in the ass (lol). Side note: making sure first and second line gear interface well is important too so keeo that in mind as you throw shit on a belt. Don't have stuff impeding access to belt stuff on plate carrier or chest rig or whatever.
>>
>>33243708
Two words for mix.
Gatorade bottles.

>>33243639

2MB, 3188x1793px
>>33243745
If that's a brand new MJK kahki MBAV with soft armor, that increases the price you can sell it for by like 500 bones. Very impressive.
>>
>>33243720
The IFAK on the small of the back is constantly debated. Some argue that if you fall on your back you can hurt your self since its right near your spine, some argue if your blown on your ass it will be hard to get. All are possible. However I find that having it on the small of my back allows for either hand to access it as its a tear off pouch. Ofcourse, id be lieing if I didnt mention how it is uncomfortable it can be when sitting down. But what can you do.

As I dont put rifle magazines on my belt, weight isnt too much of an issue. I have a sub compact pistol, and magazines that hold only 8rnds. Even with the small utility pouch its as light of a set up as you can really get.
>>
>>33243905
I don't think your spine will be injured by the generally soft contents of an IFAK any more than landing on your back with a plate carrier so I doubt that will be an issue.

Fair about the being blown on your ass but it's incredibly easy to reach right around and touch your butt from almost any position, considering it sits right above that even easier.

I want to try it out compared to the back L or R side mounted spots most people use.
>>
>>33243983
Again to me the points made aren't enough (Hence why I carry it on my 6o'clock) Just telling you what other people out there say. You have to remember that not everyone is wearing a plate by the way, or for that matter people have slim ifaks. Some people have this huge honking ifak on there ass, and if you fell on it, fuck it would hurt a lot.

Mine is slim. Not too many issues there.
>>
>>33243905
>Ofcourse, id be lieing if I didnt mention how it is uncomfortable it can be when sitting down.
kind of depends
if you've got plates on and you're sitting in a car it can be a nice sort of lumbar support thing. Versus just having this void between your lower back and the car seat
>>
>>33243817
for some reason i thought the SFLCS kit had a CIRAS?
>>
>>33244437
Yeah I know, but I dont have plates. Sooo, yeah.
I with ya man, just this is how I use my stuff.
>>
>>33244457
I thought the CIRAS came separately? I was under the impression that it just included the RRV chest rig along with many molle pouches including parts that could be used with the CIRAS and MBAV.
>>
>>33244537
the lists i've seen included a CIRAS, the RRV, concealable BALCS carrier, and the H-harness

but anyways looking at his list it should be an MBAV, i think they made rolling changes to the kit contents?

Added IFAK on left side, I think Ill put the UV82 to the right of my mags opposite the IFAK. I have an antenna relocator kit, should I use that or run the NA771 antenna in the shoulder strap loops and hope it doesnt put my eye out? I think Ill get one of those little hydration carrier/ backpack things and mount it on the MOLLE on the back instead of using the ILBE assault pack. Too many shoulder straps using that thing but I'll keep it for hiking.

Is there any consensus on which MREs are the best to get? I've been thinking about getting a case from Amazon, but a lot of reviews for almost all of them say that their cases are only a few months from "expiration" upon arrival.

What MRE brands are the most trusted/best bang for the buck?
>>
>>33244913

>>
>>33243573
You did not ask for any particular input, so I am sorry if this is unwelcome. There is some debate about small of back IFAKs. I set a "where you can see it and reach with either hand" policy in my unit (senior medic, light infantry company). My reasoning is that conscious patients tend to roll to their sides or bank and I don't want to play hide and seek when I am trying to treat.

Unless you have a specific group that you are using your gear around/training with, that is irrelevant. If you can reach it consistently, then it is good enough.
>>
>>33245030
that sounds like a reasonable idea but why not just set an SOP like "rear left portion of cummerbund, lower left portion of back panel, or small of back" so it's always in the same general area
>>
>>33244913
I wish I knew, I can tell you dont waste your time with Sportsmans Guide MREs they jave rhese nasty ass crackers in them and like 3 entres only.
>>
>>33245030
Yeah I get that. When I was in the infuntry our location was right side on either a belt or the PC. Either way, im not in anymore, so i dont need to adhere to any unit standards.
>>
>>33244913
xmre
>>
>>33245056
Accessibility to the person treating. Remember that but about how conscious casualties tend to roll onto their back or side? I don't want to have to roll PVT Dodge over to get to his IFAK, and he, shattered bones and all, sure as hell doesn't want me to either.

But that is much less of an issue if you expect to be treating yourself.
>>

There's only so much extra advantage that can be eeked out of super duper expensive gear. Obviously you don't want shit that just falls apart or totally fails to work, but at a very moderate dollar amount you start to hit diminishing returns.

I'd rather spend my cash on ammo or other items than switch out my cheap, but functional gear for the new flavor of the month.

I bought it for a bit cheaper off ebay, its might as well be new. Its not mil spec and I'm not a fan of non milspec so its hard for me to like it. >>
>>33243983
I don't see it so much as the contents that would hurt you, more so the position that it could put your back in when you land, to me.

But the big point to me is, if an ifak is first aid that is meant to be used on you, and if you get hit, and need your ifak to be used on you, you are most likely going to be on your back.

If I'm missing something, someone please explain.

>In for HTC hybrid belt hate.

You basically asked me to..

I actually suggested multiple times that the full htc setup was not worth the price tag, and I still don't think it is. I bet you regret not getting it a little bit though, right? Not saying you should have, but it would be KIND OF cool.
>>
>>33247412
Without a doubt it's really fucking cool. No regrets at this point though. There was too much excess on their rig, the only part I really wanted was having it all daisy chained together which seemed neat, but is honestly a non-issue once the belt is actually secured to the waist.

With the daisy chain though you are pretty well forced into using their extra utility/ifak slots to keep the rig unified.

As far as price, it's definitely overpriced, but not as much as some would suggest. If you go price out the belt(s) and all the individual holders/holsters/components from competitors, you're only coming about about $100-$150 heavy.

Have a shooting buddy who has them on his department issued PC and tried the rig on a few times. Not sure it's any quicker, especially with a minimalist setup like you have, maybe more convenient since you're not tearing the front flap up. I'm far from being an expert in plate carrier setups though.
>>
>>33249002
Not hugely faster but it'll be quieter to put on. Also do you carry an IFAK?

Just two things I noticed (Im thinking these are just there for the picture aesthetics but figured id post it anyway)

>Axe
Do you really need an axe/where would you put in on your kit?

>Two knives
Do you really need two knives?

Again im assuming you just combined an edc kit with your PC kit and what not. So I get you probably dont actually carry that stuff. As the other guy said, wheres your ifak? Since your a sheriff, a minimum id say you need TQ's. I mean im assuming that if you were somewhere where shooting was happening you could EMS there within a few minutes. If thats the case though those fight few minutes are still critical, and TQ's are something that you need to apply within that time frame to save a life.

No substitute for range time but you get a nice leg/ arm/ chest/ stomach/ back work out.

Coyote or Ranger Green gear with OCP's? I've been agonizing over this for like a month now.

I'm National Guard so it doesn't matter that much, but Ranger Green makes more sense around the Great Lakes and matches the old PCU's and other shit I have better. But then again, Coyote is what most everybody else uses. Maybe a Ranger Green slick with a Coyote chest rig?
>>
>>33253387
If you want to wear it at work, coyote is the way to go. It's more multienvironment and it blends in with OCP and with a lot of issues gear. If you want to fly under the radar and not look like a special snowflake, it's the way to go. Plus it's not like camoing for your actual local area matters for military means.

Ranger green has the advantage of being aesthetic as fuggg.
>>
>>33253387
[no offence] why is everyone so autismo about colors. Unless you need maximum concealability flat colors don't matter that much especially when they're very muted colors.

Ranger green is a nice muted flat green and doesn't stick out anywhere really so I'd go with that. In sand gear tends to get sandy and obviously turns more of a sand color so it's less an issue than you might think even if you're going for maximum concealability.... But you're not painting your face and forearms so I wouldn't personally worry about it too much.

Great for hanging gloves, zipties, chemlights, retention lanyard clip end (not secure end use a D ring for that, senpai because the pals webbing of your belt ain't rated for that) and other col guy stuff you might not ever use but still looks cool.

Also, cute set-up for a single stack. I too only have one pistol. Have you thought about just getting two IWB mag holders and an IFAK in like a backpack or something? I don't know if you're adding much with a belt kit.

>>
>>33255777
Its not an impressive amount of light. However its enough, especially for a hand gun. Also if you consider it id recommend amazon, got it for 90$ while my local store stocked it for 160. I carry IWB for everyday carry. This is more of a shooting/innawoods/shtf kit. Therefore, its more benefical to have my ifak actually on me, and having two magazines/OWB holster. (Not shown but ordering). Although the belt shown could be concealed, I do not use it for that, I have a normal leather belt I wear doing civvie shit. Ill be adding a small GP pouch to carry a mutlitool and small goodies on the belt, also the belt allows me to the ability to hastly belay, without making a swiss sweat or something.

As far as EDC, I usually don't carry another magazine. (I know, i know shit on it), and I carry a TQ in my backpack or vehicle.

A head lamp stripped of the band and strapped to your chest MOLLE works great. And/or a normal light in a pistol mag pouch. That exact model of pen light is kind shit to be honest. If you keep the pen light, I'd at least dummy cord it with some release knotted, gutted 550 cord.

It's tough for me, I see you have a G43, which there are probably many holster options for the G43 with a TLR6, but not so much for a Sig P238 like I have.

What kind of holster are you going for for the belt kit?
>>

Actually not many OWB holsters with the TLR6, I contacted Off the Grid Concepts and they said they would custom make me one, consider reaching out to companies even if they dont have it listed.

Sig P238, keys, wallet, phone is my running set-up. I have used it for fishing before as well, keeps everything above the waterline when I'm wading. I went with that pattern because I have a small frame so it's narrower but still has more storage than the other narrow options (runner, recon, regular snubby). I love it, honestly, it's gear that actually gets used. Going to pick up the stabilizer strap at the post office tomorrow.

What is the consensus on running two IFAK's? First and second line mounted, both are fully stocked. Should I run a beefier one on the carrier and slimmer one on the belt? Was planning on running two STOMP's.
>>
>>33257728
retarded you only need 1. IFAK is for immediate shit, triage is for later shit. IFAK till you get to triage.
>>
>>33257728
eh, the slav way is to have an blowout tournq and gauze on the shoulder and then a stocked one on back, but if youre using a fully stocked one, no reason to have 2 unless youre the medic.
>>
>>33257708
lots of guys like the merrel boots or other (outdoors brand boots) i dont have much experience with them but i will say ive had good luck (in that usage) with HAiX, its a german company (yes you will pay a little more money) but the current pair i have come up about 6in on my ankle and have kept my feet pretty dry for 2 years now

Maybe more annos can give more imput but anything has to be better than those olde boots your sporting
>>
>>33257728
Plenty of people do it in the field. My 1st SGT and PSGs do, and I (senior medic) am just fine with that. Now, that said, you are unlikely to be pressed into service working in a CCP for a company or larger element, yes? Consider your role carefully before you go loading yourself down. One guy in the woods? Two IFAKs would be excessive.

Honestly, a person is unlikely to use much past the TQ in themselves anyway. I don't relish the idea of being wrist-deep in my hip trying to pack myself with combat gauze. I've been NCDed, and I have serious doubts about being able to do that to myself.
>>
>>33257728
If im you, I wouldn't do it. The main purpose of your IFAK is immediate care, anything beyond that is more in depth. In reality what you need on you is a blow out kit. IE. Just got shot, I need to get immediate care to get back to a better stocked medical supply/facility. If your preparing to do medical triage of some sort id consider creating a med bag. Far more capabilities and options than two ifaks. So here are two options id consider...

>IFAK - Major injuries
>Medical Bag - Filled for multiple injuries on multiple people, ranging from major to minor

>IFAK - Major Injuries
>Boo-boo kit in your pack - Mainly for you, consisting of more misc. supplies for yourself.

>IFAK - Major Injuries
>Boo-boo kit in a utility pouch (Maybe where you keep other admin type stuff?)

I just think carrying a lot of medical supplies will get heavy quick. Unless your prepping for SHTF or as the other anon said, company medic, its not really necessary as anything beyond immediate medical care will likely not be needed.

NCs have buttons because something something zippers fail underwater. Or something. Here's an NC next to an AV for comparison. That paracord thing is the equivalent of a larping fedora, it's a personal retention lanyard. You clip it into the d-rings on the floors of helicopters so you don't fall out. Serves me 0 purpose.
