You must buy a membership by March 28 in order to be eligible to vote for CPC Leadership on May 27.

It's preferable to go through Max's website and not the CPC website, so that you're only on the Bernier mailing list vs. the mailing list of every CPC candidate.

On your ballot you will get to rank candidates of your choice. Do not even list the shadow kike that is O'Leary.

He is against suppressors and in favour of 5 round magazine restrictions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR2vd6vZKSU

Reminder to browse /pol/, fakebook, etc. and shut down retarded memers who think O'Leary is a good candidate. He's not.

O'Leary is a liberal running for Conservative party leadership.

>the Conservative party electorate is pretty small, only about a 100-150k members
which actually made me think that getting my vote in could make an important difference.
>>
>>33182577
>>33182725
>>33182884
That was me.

Also note that votes are tallied by riding. IIRC, if you live in a riding where there are few conservatives your voted could be hugely important. This is because each riding gets like 100 points or something and the breakdown of votes in the riding corresponds to the number of points a candidate gets. So, hypothetically, if mad max gets 37% of the votes, he gets 37 points for that riding. Mad max only needs a simple majority of points from the 338 ridings to become leader.

Get your fucking membership. Every vote matters.

He goes over the policies in his platform, while making mention that he isn't a firearm owner or hunter at all but wants as much personal freedom for the people of Canada. Especially with regards to firearms.
>>
>>33185745
However one shouldn't confuse Maxime Bernier being only for firearms. His economic policies are fantastic as well.

I know that feel bro, I really want an FAL and I'd love an FNC for a 5.56 rifle.

Everytime I look at the prohib list it just makes me angry. There is no logical reason a semi-auto rifle like the FAL should be prohibited when you can buy norc M14's and SKS's by the boatload.

Our gun laws are stupid anyways, but that is what pisses me off the most.
>>
>>33186643

This isn't really a good group for us. on CGN someone did a breakdown, and 3 of the new people are associated with the Coalition for Gun Control, and one (the cop) was pro-LGR:

>Suzanne Jackson – Chair of the Board at the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA)
>Representative of an organization that is identified as a member of the Coalition for Gun Control and vocally opposed to Bill C-391; an early attempt to terminate the long gun registry.

>Paul Pageau – President of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP)
>Representative of an organization that is identified as a member of the Coalition for Gun Control and vocally opposed to Bill C-391; an early attempt to terminate the long gun registry.

>Paulette Senior – Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Women’s Foundation
>Former head of the YWCA in Canada. Presided over the YWCA during the YWCA’s membership in the Coalition for Gun Control. Opposed to efforts aimed at eliminating long gun registry.

>Clive Weighill – Past President of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP)

I dunno, maybe it has to get worse before it gets better. The last time the Liberals suggested an attack on gun rights, we got Harper. Let's say Trou D'eau's Merry Band of Faggots suggests a semi-auto ban with Archie Empie's seal of approval(Men don't wear pistols in Canada!)

Not only does the legislation get put forth, but actually gets signed into law. Even SUGGESTING a handgun ban got us an eventual majority back in the early 2000's, and we have far more Restricted owners now than then. That's a fucking slam dunk for a Conservative majority next election. /ourguy/ would have his campaign on easy mode.

So the question is, are you willing to lose an SKS to get EVERYTHING in a couple of years?
>>
>>33190723
Gun rights are a niche issue compared to lots of other things. I wouldn't expect any move the gun grabbers make to really shift public opinion outside the firearms community
>>
>>33190723
>maybe it has to get worse before it gets better
Like the RCMP saying "Our word is law. .22 magazines are now limited. Fuck the Firearms Act. Bow to us you pieces of shit."

>So the question is, are you willing to lose an SKS to get EVERYTHING in a couple of years?

Hold the fuck up dude.
Think about this for a second. Speaking about lifting magazine limits brings up "YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE WOMEN AT POLYTECHNIQUE DO YOU?". It is INFINITELY harder to reverse a law in our politics than it is to put it into place.
The fudds will completely abandon us to keep their savage and tikka rifles and we'd have a demand to turn in all of our semi-automatic rifles for $0 compensation. You don't get that shit reversed.
>Oh anon, they wouldn't do that.
Remember the cz-858 and Swiss rifle "buyback"?
They don't give two shits about you or I or our property.

This.

>>
>>33193222

I was a "liberal" when I was a teenager/young adult. Didn't take too long after getting interested in firearms to learn how fucked government is in this country and across the world.

The fact that we have a libertarian candidate at the forefront is a dream come true.
>>
>>33193518
I've actually always been a centerist.

When I use my vote it's usually to weaken the incumbent party, unless I think they are doing an okay job.
>>
>>33193530

I was just naive enough to think that the party named after liberty actually believed and practiced such.
>>
>>33193554
Liberalism apparently means "polite police" in the 21st century.

They tell you what you can and can't eat.
What you can and can't say.
Who should get your hard earned money
etc.
Also they always claim they are going to pay for their extravagant promises by taxing the rich, but their taxes seem to target the dwindling middle class more than anything.
>>
>>33193574

One of my favourite moments in Canadian political history is when Jean Chrétien was getting kicked out of the LPC, so he changes the political finance laws so that you can't survive off just a few really large donors (The model the LPC had been using for ages). That ended up crippling the party drastically and empowering the conservatives who historically got a larger number of smaller donations.
>>
>>33193611
Because liberals and their voters take every opportunity they can to hurl personal insults at the working class; making sure they will only ever vote NDP or Conservative.

Trudeau needed only flirt with working class voters and that got him a majority on his first try.

But with a lack of follow-through I doubt it's going to fool them another cycle.
>>
>>33193641
>Trudeau needed only flirt with working class voters and that got him a majority on his first try.

There was a lot more context to it that pushed him beyond a minority government (mostly in Quebec, mind you), but yeah... People are fucking pissed.

Even my mother, who has voted for the LPC every election since she came of age, is so disappointed with him that she's, at best, going to cancel her vote next time, if not vote for someone else. If Bernier wins the leadership, she might even vote Conservative for the first time in her life.
>>
>>33193695
But at the same time... I finally see now in my 30s, after having flirted with socialism and PC culture... I still believe strongly in the importance of individual liberty...

But as I watch the world around me slowly sink into a state of entropic decay while people wallow around apathetically in decadence I see the coming of exactly what the traditionalists who I once insulted feared.

Not the CBC! Nope. They'll have tax dollars pay for a real fucking turkey dinner to sit on the set.

>complaining about hate-speech laws
>normie-friendly
Noone is getting sued for millions for making a joke on facebook. So let's not get the man to hang himself on some stupid 'free speech' question, when people's hate speech complaints rarely seem to be about freedom.

>>33193830
This man got the right idea.

Trudeau voters are pissed about weed still being illegal, elections not being reformed, and a few other things like the 'cash for access' scandal (noone fucking cares about his selfie addiction and just generally being a celebrity, half the time conservatives are wishing they had that kind of attention). So if Mad Max wants to #freetheweed, that's something people should hear him talk about. It will blow a lot of fucking minds if we got a pro-weed Tory candidate, and there's plenty of Tories who are in favour of legalization these days too. If he's pro-electoral reform, even better.

Remember when it comes to normies, or people with normie-tendencies, they usually don't care about one single issue (and if they do, it's usually not going to be guns). And between local MP's and whoever's leading the party, you're not certain to get someone who favours all your interests in both positions (MP and PM), even if they're from the same party. So most people weigh all of someone's issues rather than focus on any single one, and go with the person who supports more of the things you like. This is also why we have a relatively high number of swing voters in this country as well.

And why I'll probably be voting for Mad Max, even though I don't agree with all of his policies.

(also, apparently I have to start watching CBC, just to see if it's as horrible as you all say)
>>
>>33195900
>CBC comments sections often assert that the Conservatives have no chance to win in 2019
If the Tories choose an idiot like O'Leary or Leitch to lead them, then they are probably right. Canadians are more worried about the dangers of moose limbs, than muslims, and either of those idiots talking about bans, draining the swamp, or anything 'trump-like', is not likely to win points with people. Especially since there's still another 2 years until the election, so plenty of time to watch all the 'fun' from the sidelines with the popcorn.
>>
>>33195935
>Remember when it comes to normies, or people with normie-tendencies, they usually don't care about one single issue

It is. I occasionally turn on CBC radio when I'm driving, and whenever the subject turns to politics, economics, or social issues, the leftism gets turned up to 11. I have yet to hear a single unbiased presenter when they talk about Trump.

I don't understand why in the flying fuck we needed a public broadcasting station in the first place. In wartime, governments get broadcast priority on all private channels anyway, so the public emergency aspect is a non-issue.

It's just a money grab by producers whose content would otherwise be uncompetitive on the open market. If your programming is indeed so amazing and highly demanded (as proponents of the CBC claim), consumers and advertisers will be more than willing to pay for it.

Wiki states:
Majumder has said that because he was raised by a white mother and around white people, he had no idea he "was anything but white".[2] In his standup acts, he jokes about joining his schoolmates in chanting racist slurs before realizing that he was the victim they were talking about.[2][3]

>>
>>33197270
Yeah I'm not sure where the skin tones assumption comes from, when I started going to daycare/preschool it was mostly "white" kids. And this is where it gets complicated because the "white" kids come from russia all the way to iceland and are usually abit mixed euro already (all different eye colors hair colors etc) On top of that, there we're tall kids, short kids, fat kids. I definitely understood that the afro and oriental kids looked different than I did, but I was not aware that we we're categorized in a way that just lumped us into Black, White, Brown, Yellow. To me the dark haired brown eyed "White" kid with straight hair was less like me, than the black kid with curly hair. Because I had curly hair too and we were closer in height, even though it was blonde and I had blue eyes.
>>
>>33197208
No. You actually only get to rank 10 out of 14 if no one drops out anyways. just list who you find acceptable in decreasing order. If you leave someone off the list there is no way they can get your vote even if all other candidates are eliminated

>once a separatist always a separatist
because there is no way to peer into his brain to determine what he actually believes. You either accept what he is telling you, or you reject it. People have already put forward arguments that corroborate his current position. You've clearly made up your mind, so what is the point of discussing further?

Because I see these meme images here and I wanted to see if the people posting them had anything interesting or unique to say about him and who he is particularly when Bernier is vying to be the leader of the CPC and if successful has a chance to be the PM of Canada and considering we have another Trudeau making a mess it's important that the right person is doing the job?

You realize he voted "NO" in the 1995 referendum, right?

He also refused to impose tariffs against Chinese-made bicycles AND subsidizing bicycles made in Quebec because he did not want to put a few hundred jobs in the area ahead of the interests of all Canadians.

To say that he puts Quebec first is patently untrue. He's one of the few ideologically consistent politicians in Ottawa and you're rejecting him because he's a proper Canadien.

For shame.

You're the one asking for something that cannot be delivered. We cannot read the minds of politicians we can only go by what they say, what they have done in the past, and a rational extrapolation of their future behavior. As I said, people have already given you reasons why he is unlikely to be a separatist sleeper agent waiting for the chance to strike.

How about you provide the falsification criteria? What do YOU think would convince you that Bernier is legit?

Anyone know of crown land near Sherbrooke? I can't make heads or tails of the french or maps that I can manage to find.

Find any patch of land, preferably forested land, that has as few people in the area as possible, is 300m away from a main road, and has no "no trespassing" or "private land" signs and shoot there, if cops show up, just say you thought you could shoot there cause it was safe and there was no signs saying you couldnt and if you cant theyll most likely tell you where you can shoot, cops arent always literally hitler when they stop you with guns

And global warming and race shit are social issues.

>being able to sell brew across provincial lines
Since we have a few breweries here in NS I can see that being a good thing too.

>>33205609
Rumour is that when Trudeau was in Halifax a while ago, it was because of talks with some major software developers who are thinking of moving here (got a friend who works in Ubisoft who tipped me off).

That said, I'd really not like to have the provincial health care system fucked up royally. But also doubt that Max would be able to make those kinda of radical changes anyway, so he's still getting my vote.

>thinking Leitch had the right to define what Canadian Values are
Fuck off.
>>
>>33217654

>>
>>33217654

As far as health care is concerned, Bernier's platform is to reduce federal taxation and red tape so that provinces can tax their own population appropriately to maintain the service level that their constituents expect while allowing businesses to thrive by being able to freely sell in a larger market.

As it is now, when provinces fuck up their medicare systems, they just say "Well, Ottawa didn't give us enough money, so it's their fault!".
>>
>>33217731
Essentially force responsibility on those who did in fact screw up.

Hopefully Bernier will be up for re-introducing fraternal/friendly societies or mutual aid societies with lodge practice being allowed once again.
>>
>>33217775

Got any links where I can read up on them?
>>
>>33217804
Mises talks about them and they even did a book review that someone made on the subject.

https://mises.org/library/welfare-welfare-state

https://mises.org/library/review-mutual-aid-welfare-state-fraternal-societies-and-social-services-1890%E2%80%931967-david

A brief version of the concept was on the following video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFoXyFmmGBQ

The video is made by an anarchist-capitalist, and while I don't agree with everything the author puts forth I see a great deal that was lost by the loss of fraternal/friendly societies and mutual aid societies.

There are a few still in operation, but not the same extent as they once were.

Its essentially voluntary socialist welfare. That is private, not public. You need to become a member and pay monthly/yearly dues for the different services they cover. Which worked wonders for the lower quarter of the population at large.
>>
>>33217840
Danke. I'll peruse those later tonight.
>>
>>33217687
>What is with you maritime fucks voting liberal in lock step?
Actually what we do is flip back and forth between the Tories and Liberals every several years. That way, both parties get to screw us over in equal amounts.

>>33217731
Not sure if each province having to rely on their own provincial economy to support their health care system is a good idea, since it sounds like some provinces are going to get screwed.

>>33217840
