I am curious on how you store your mags besides just throwing them all into a box and finding them when you need them. I have a good verity and am thinking of picking up more ammo cans for keeping hand gun sorted from rifle.
Thanks for any input
I use these. But I only have ar mags. Pistol mags have an ammo can I keep em in..
Thanks for the catch, been a little distracted.
This is the bigger portion of my mess.
Pistol mags on shelves, rifle mags boxes on the floor, stacked by caliber and gun model. Couldn't get much in pic related, shelf too wide. Not pictured: ~100 rifle mags, ~70 pistol and SMG mags.
I like the MOLLE safe door idea, but it seems wasteful of space (and money). If the shelf is sturdy enough and shallow enough, you can really pack a whole lot of magazines in while keeping easy access and low floor space utilization.
Is that............ the inside of a fridge door OP?
I keep most of my mags in my range box but have some in my chest rig hanging in my closet which is always ready to go, not that I would be trying to put my rig on while Jamal is roaming the house.
Though SOME of my AR7 8 round magazines will actually finish without a malfunction.
100% toy. Considering turning it into one of these. As soon as I can find a British 2" mortar tail that doesn't cost twice as much as the gun...
That is a great setup! Could you post any more pics? I'm trying to get ideas for a "gun room" I'd like to build. Maybe I should start a gun room thread...
Anyways cool setup and I'm totally not a cop or anything.
Collector mags go in the safe, all the others are stored in totes and boxes.
>Mags i dont shoot
really only rifle mags. i'll use about 10 mags and the other ~60 are in a box waiting for Hillary days.
so thing like 9mm colt 32 rd, glock 33 rd, bx 25 etc each get their own labeled nylon bag.
i have about 4 pistols that i actually want to get gud with. so ill use cheap ass mag pouch's for those mags. and what ever i'm taking to range that day ill just throw that pouch in my bag,
i keep every pistol in a pelican so each pelican can usually handle the mags it came with. for example i only have 2 ppq 45 mags and they live in that case, i only have 3 92s mags and they live in that case.
>drums and etc
they just hang out in the gun closet.
The product picture makes the magazines look like they sit below the top of the box, but for the one I got they sit proud. If I install dust covers on my pmags, then two will interfere with the recess for the handle by a few milimeters. I can close the lid, but only by deforming it slightly. And ranger plates are out of the question.
Loaded ones go in the safe, unloaded go on a shelf.
One loaded into the rifle at all times, loaded ones in a plate carrier hanging on the wall. There are never empty rifle mags at my house.
this. i actually needed the larger one but the smaller one works well for mags.
