I was told to come here.

Could Lee Harvey Oswald really have shot Kennedy the way they said he did?

It seems implausible.

I of course don't know, but it sure seems fishy to me that they apparently were going to release more info on JFK'S death but decided not to after realizing that people were still alive from when he was shot.
My guess is that he was assassinated for wanting to change the system, declining Operation Northwoods, etc.

Sorry if my incoherent tinfoil hat bullshittery is unintelligible.

>>28849987
Yes, it's entirely plausible.

Carcanos are perfectly capable of making that shot

The distance isn't as extreme as it's made out to be (white arrows mark shooter and target in pic related)

Oswald was know to be both a wierdonwith delusions of grandeur and a good shot.

Also people assume the headshot on jfk was intentional, (probably to add credence to the difficulty of the shot) it probably wasn't as center mass is the preferred target for marksmen and jfks torso would have been exposed.
>>
>>28850071

He was considered a bad shot by fellow Marines.
>>
>>28849987
Yes he did it, when you sift through the bullshit it get obvious
>>
>>28849987
Dude, It wasn't that hard of a shot. The limo was moving at less than 10 mph and the maximum distance was 81 meters when the last round was fired. Oswald was using a scoped Carcano model M91, an Italian WWII infantry rifle. The wonder isn't that he hit five times out of six, but that a trained Marine rifleman missed once out of six shots with a scoped rifle at such a short distance on a slow moving target.
>Oliver Stone is so full of shit that his eyes are diarrhea brown
>>
>>28850105
You can see his record, he was qualified
>>
>>28850118
Give him a break, he was shooting fast and under a lot of stress
>>
>>28850155
Fair enough. It was also likely a case of Buck Fever as well. He probably rushed that first shot then settled down.
>>
>>28850123
He qualified "Sharpshooter" in 1955 but qualified "Marksman" in 1959. He likely stopped giving a fuck and was doing the bare minimum to get by.
>>
>>28849987

Having been to Dealey Plaza, I could make those fucking shots. It's not far, and it's not a complex shot. Target is below you, slowly moving away, in a not-quite-straight line. I'm sure even the most poorly trained qualified infantryman could do it.

Also, anyone who says ANYTHING about the grassy knoll is a fucking moron.

anyone have a good video of a shooter testing the shots on a moving car? And not history-channel shit stuff, I've seen that kinda thing.

I just wanna see a skilled rifleman shooting the same gun at a moving target from the same distance/angle and see the results. 5 shots and everything, etc. Just to be able to conclusively shut people up with the "muh firing too fast had to be two shooters" and "impossible accurate shot" crap
>>
>>28850288

No, seriously. Knoll is a shit shot. Target is moving in front of you at an irregular pace, and you're shooting over a crowd of people, and you can't tell it today, but the knoll was exposed as fuck in 1963. Hell, I'd shoot from the overpass before I tried the knoll.
>>
>>28849987
Do you put in any credit in the idea that Oswald totally intended to assassinate JFK, and hit him, but that an M-16 in the follow car, carried by an inexperienced officer drawing it after the first shot, actually killed Kennedy?
>>
>>28850274
My dad was in the nuke program in the 60's with the Navy on the development side of things. Reactors and such. He told me about a conversation he had with a guy in intelligence about the Kennedy assassination. He basically told dad that that Kennedy kept trying to take out Castro and that Castro got him first.
>>
>>28850408
Wow that story seems legit.
>>
Any credence to the theory that it was some mong of a SS agent attempting to fire back at LHO, falling, and ND'ing that caused the shot in kennedy's skull?
>>
>>28850395

>>
>>28850408
>>28850449
Well, before Lee Harvey Oswald moved to Dallas, he was in New Orleans volunteering for a group called the Cuban American Friendship Association.

The conflict with Cuba absolutely was one of Oswald's motives for killing Kennedy.
>>
>>28850488
That's doesn't imply a broader conspiracy though. A lone wolf style attack by some one looking to make friends with the commies (and had failed before) is a muh cleaner theory.
>>
I went and visited the old depository in October, that shot would have been easy at a slow speed. Not even 100 yards.

The way the original positions were postulated, the magic bullet would've been fucking unlikely at best, but with the revised position of the governor there really isn't anything that greatly contradicts the lone gunman theory.

It's entirely possible my old man was bullshitting me. I still remember offhand comments he would make about stuff, like telling me that the irradiated gold in some story was bullshit, that "we could stick gold bullion in an active reactor, pull it out and watch the rad count drop almost instantly."

My favorite moment was when i was probably 15 and we were watching some cheezy sci fi movie. A scene with the reactor came on and dad said, "That's wrong. It doesn't glow green. It glows electric blue."

Dad got out of the Navy in '67, a year before I was born but stayed a reservist. My uncle told me that he had been approached several times by Naval Intelligence to come back and had refused. I found this out several years after he died.

How dumb are you? The thing with the Kennedy Assassination isn't just shooting a bullet, it's how the bullet curved twice to also wound Connally.
>>
>>28851288

You are referring to the ss agent in the seat in front of jkf that was shot.

Debunked by just looking at the seat. The car had a jump seat in front of JFK that was positioned lower to the ground, which makes the angles line up.
>>
>>28851331
John Connally was sitting in front of JFK; the SS agent was seated in front of Conally. And the shot was never debunked.
>>
>>28851288
It didn't Connally was in a bucket seat that was inset from the couch in the back Kennedy was sitting in. Connally was inset and below Kennedy in height.

Of course the bullet that actually killed Kennedy was from an ND the Secret Service mechanic performing escort duty in the chase car was responsible for when he stood up holding the M-16 and the car lurched.
>>
>>28851373
>It didn't Connally
It didn't hit him? Because it did hit him.
>>
>>28851389
It didn't curve, Connally's wounds were in a straight line from the entrance and exit wounds Kennedy received in the back and throat.
>>
>>28851420
His wounds weren't in a straight line.
>Governor Connally also reacted after the same bullet penetrated his back just below his right armpit, creating an oval entry wound, impacted and destroyed four inches of his right fifth rib, exited his chest just below his right nipple, creating a two-and-a-half inch oval sucking-air chest wound, entered his arm just above his right wrist, cleanly shattered his right radius bone into eight pieces, exited just below the wrist at the inner side of his right palm, and finally lodged in his left inner thigh.

>>
>>28850071

I've been there.

I was amazed at how compact the scene was. Pics and film give an illusion of greater distance than it really is. A competent shot on a slow moving target is achievable.

I am a pretty good shot when fudding and have hit moving game at greater distance with irons. So it is definitely plausible that someone with military instruction in basic marksmanship could do it.
>>
>>28851367

Wrong. It was.

The car had a jump seat that was lower and more to the centerline of the vehicle. When you trace a line back from where Connally was shot (taking into account his body movement) it is almost a straight line.

Please at least read the Warren Report.
>>
>>28852510

Ray's fingerprints were found on the rifle and the package it was stored in. Read a book for fucks sake.
>>
>>28850249
Also giving more credence to the center mass theory - firing at a target below the shooter, when the rifle was zeroed on a target at the same height as the shooter, results in high shots.
>>
Makes me wonder how much Oswald's gun cost... how much exactly if put into auction? Does the FBI still have it? If so, hypothetically then. If I remember correctly, Hitler firearm used to kill himself went up for a few million.
>>
>>28854588
>The rifle and the pistol are now kept in a secure location within the National Archives and Records Administration Building in College Park, Maryland. A replica of the rifle is on display at the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas by the stairs where detectives found the original rifle.

Apparently it was sold to a private bidder, whom the ATF tried to strongarm (good to know some traditions never die) to recover the weapon.

They eventually did, and now it's under lock and key.
>>
>>28854601
>>28854588
Oh, and:
>In December 1964, Lee Oswald's widow, Marina, sold whatever right, interest, or title that she had in the rifle and pistol for $5,000; and in March 1965 she sold whatever power of sale she had in them for an additional $5,000. A $35,000 additional payment to Marina Oswald was contingent upon the buyer obtaining possession "free and clear of all adverse claims."

>The buyer, Denver oilman and gun collector John J. King, commenced an action in federal court in May 1965 for the recovery of the weapons from possession of the U.S. government. In response, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service began an in rem forfeiture proceeding against the rifle and the pistol.

So, about $45k, 1965 dollars, which is about $340k in today's money.

The very last try, I fired three shots, one that missed and hit Connaly in the shoulder, second shot hit Kennedy in the lower neck, exited, then hit Connaly, and a third shot that hit Kennedy in the right side of the brain and killed him.

The second two shots replicated perfectly where Kennedy was shot, as well as being at a similar timing.

Great game just because it shows that it's not some miracle shot.

oh calm down.

It's just interesting to see the distances involved, and how fast the car was moving, and get an idea that hitting a moving target at that range isn't MUH CONSPIRACY IMPOSSIBLE like people claim.

Those things are only weird on the surface.
>>
>>28849987
Of course not.

I have a theoretical degree in physics, and a masters in horoscopology, and I can tell you that the shot was impossible.

First off, the Stars were in an incorrect alignment (something we Horoscopologists like to call a universal gravity phase shift), so the bullet wouldn't have enough ballistical trajectory to even make it to Kennedy.

Second off, we still haven't ruled out the Jolly Green Giant. I shouldn't need to explain that any further.

Lastly, we all know that Oswald was an CIA double agent, and that he would have had to kill the president outside of the United States, considering the CIA cannot officially operate in the US.

>>28856384
Fun fact, the secret service employs zombies as gaurds and one of them got into the evidence

It's really fun to turn up the car behavior to crazy, then kill the driver. Then everybody dies.

It's also fun to trigger conspiracy theorists who can't handle reality, but that might just be fun for me.

I'm talking about that line of logic. How do you last here if you instantly resort to the either-or fallacy?

How are you still here if you believe conspiracy theories on par with Bigfoot?

It's fine being skeptical of what the government tells us, and that there's a good chance actual conspiracys happen. But damn, this is probably the dumbest conspiracy theory to actually believe.

So my second tour was mostly policing, so we had to be shot at before shooting back. Sometimes you had to break the rules of engagement, because if you wait for them to shoot, you're already fucked.

By the time I got back, I found out my wife was pregnant again. Whatever.

So I guess I had to get back to life, so I found a job at a machine shop my father-in-law owned. It was an alright gig for a while, my wife was working a secretary job to help make ends meet.

So things started to deteriorate after the kid was born. Looked nothing like me. My wife had quit her job about a month before he was born, so less money there too.
>>
>>28856561
yeah one time I shot JFK, the bullet went through him and hit the driver in the elbow, and the car ended up careening into the side of the tunnel underpass and jackie kennedy flew out of the vehicle and all the occupants died.

>>28856837
I started to mess up more at the shop, and my supervisor was telling me that I was close to getting cut. I didn't care. The next day I didn't show up, and ended up on a week long bender. This was the final straw for the wife. She found a good lawyer while I was gone and by the time I washed up at my parents house, she found me and gave me the divorce papers. She also told me that her father had fired me.
>>
>>28856939

So I guess after the divorce, I still had custody of this kid every other weekend. Doesn't even make sense, I can't afford the child support, and it ain't even mine. Whatever. So eventually I start to take this kid on hunting trips, at least this kid would have one good parent. They go over pretty well, and I'm starting to grow on this kid. At this point, I had quite a bit of debt from the divorce and most of my paychecks went to child support. Of course the kid relays my less-than-ideal conditions at home, and his mother gets a court order saying he cannot stay at my place on the weekends, basically garunteeing full custody to her.

Great
>>
>>28856970

>my shop

Just pog things.

A pog stopped me once in the commissary because I had a hole in my cammies. I told him to fuck off.

He said "what's your shop #!?"

I was like wtf. I have a squad leader... Here's his name and phone number. Told him to fuck off.

She called him too, he said he'd "correct me". Over a beer and laughing about it.
>>
>>28851081

Are you thinking of that Manhattan project movie in 86? The kid makes a bomb then defuses it and everyone rejoices! It was shit but some of it was filmed at my high school. John Lithgow was in it.

So I get to go on one last hunting trip with this kid. This is the one that ruined everything for me. It was a season that he was finally big enough to handle a rifle large enough to bag a deer. He was so excited. So I set him up in a blind about 500m from my tree stand, still within sight but covering different spots.

Things go fine the first couple of days, no deer, but on the third day, he finally sees one. I don't notice this, I just hear 4 rapid shots and some unintelligible yelling. This snaps me into a trance and I immediately fire a few shots into that direction. And right after that, I was horrified, because I knew what I had done. So I sprint over to his stand, and I find only one shot had hit him, but it went right through his left lung, possibly grazing his heart, idk. He has no idea it was me, but he had this mixed look of proudness and sadness in his eyes, and he tells me, "just tell mom one thing", sobbing, I reply "yes son". "Tell her to check these dubs"

The goal was simple. Shoot Kennedy. And so when a rifle bullet penetrates, it's guided by the usual funky world of ballistics. Oswald was unstable, but not unstable enough to plot 2 hits with one shot.

My favourite conspiracy theory was that Oswald was trying to shoot Connelly for refusing to overturn his dishonourable discharge from the Marines. He hit kennedy by accident.

It's called an alibi? Making yourself blend in? Who the hell would expect an assassin to go watch a movie?

Damn it feels good to be American.

>>28857526
Ruby claimed until his dying day that he was angry at Oswald and thought he would be a hero.
Imagine if, in the days after 9/11, OBL was paraded through a crowd of people, smirking, and some of them were armed.
