And you flunked out for reasons that weren't made clear to you?

1) You were a ranger without ranger training
2) You were flunked out a school and they didn't tell you why
3) You are getting your buddies to do your duties while you reenroll into the school without paperwork

Failing SURT is not a good thing. About a quarter of rangers fail ranger school. If he failed SURT, his chances of passing ranger school are not too good.

SURT is not a prerequisite, it's an extra curricular thing the unit puts on to help us pass

Also I have orders and a Slot. That never changed. There has also been cases of certain individuals who do just walk on. It's uncommon but not unheard of in any school and happens more often then you might think.

Finally for clarification it became know to me that I failed the land nav portion of SURT by miss plotting my points, finding points in there miss plotted locations and thinking those were correct.

When you go to the Ranger regiment you only need to go to RASP, then your battalion sets up your Ranger School slot after you deploy once to get your tab. Most of the time you get rolled once or twice if you fail early.

Do not, and I mean do not, go try and go to Ranger School by yourself. Yes you still have a slot, but as soon as the SURT cadre find out you're trying to go that school- and they will find out- they're going to have the Ranger School cadre pull you immediately.

Listen despite the shit talking you may have heard, they can't RFS you for failing SURT. You're also at 3-75, it's not like you're 2/75 where we have to fly guys over.
