On what planet is this okay?
Boresight Solutions and Travis haley chiming in.
>Patented FireShield technology keeps your support hand from icing up in the harshest winter conditions. Available as an option for $860 in 2016 only from Salient Arms.
I can't afford an AK milled from solid gold, does that mean it isn't complete shit versus other things I could buy for that much?
>wahh if you don't spend everything you have on useless crap you're not rich.
Spot the poorfag.
>Modify a design that's already g2g from a design and multi-decade development standpoint.
>Gold plate a bunch of shit and drill holes/cut chunks out of the design.
>Call it excellent and premium upgrades.
Literally the design process of niggers. What a horrible goal for a company.
it really seems like their products are designed to look cool or by engineers who know how to model with a computer but dont know shit about shooting
>Video completely centered on shilling a product.
>Mentioning glaring issues that appear in the video.
>People don't like over priced shit that clearly has quality control issues.
>"lol stop being poor"
Sorry people don't like wasting their money on bullshit.
Shitty shit is shitty shit. If something's not made right, it's shit, and this is what all this is. It belongs in the fucking ocean, with fishes feasting on it, instead of on someone's hip.
Define engineer. I'm going to bet they don't have a single one in their shop, everything about their design screams ricer fuccboi. Not with all of the backwards fucked up problems they've had from unnecessarily breaking solid designs.
>beautiful over price gun
>american+michael bay+ italian
>ugly bullshit over price gun
what went wrong?
No he does not. He continues right on shilling. I noticed the flames when I first saw the video and had to watch again to make sure it was real.
Salient Arms looked like over priced poorly thought out garbage as soon as they came into the market with their "custom" Glock packages. It's well marketed nonsense for guccigear morons.
>The handguard covers the sides of muzzle devices and redirects all the gasses from the muzzle device ports
Ok, I just have a plain ass mil-spec AR, and I don't really care too much about the latest tacticool AR stuff, so excuse my ignorance, but isn't that the purpose of the muzzle device itself? Did nobody on the design team actually fire one of these and see the problems that having muzzle blast flashing across your supporting hand could cause?
Who buys this shit?
it's meant for people with muzzle brakes who might later be shooting in a place where a muzzle brake would make for unhappy thoughts. ie. when people are near you or you're in an indoors range
since you just have what I assume is an A2 flash hider you don't really understand
I have a Miculek brake on my SW MP15 and that thing definitely makes my rifles louder and puts out a more noticeable pressure wave. Compared to the M16 and M4s I used in the Army.
>working a suppressor with supersonic load
superessor make gun over gas, over heat, and center of gravity shift forward
they are over hype and over price
Adjust your gas system with your loadings, faggot.
Quit magdumping like a faggot.
>center of grav shift forward
Tape fishing weights to your butt to offset.
They are overpriced though, but that's an artificial creation.
>Agreed to shill a product deliberately marketed to idiots with spare change.
He's set himself in a poor direction. Good products sell themselves, they don't need grandstanding like this crap.
He does put out decent videos and some good info...however he frequently shows some not so subtle bias for certain guns and manufacturers...and they are frequently from sponsors or companies that have played nice with him and invited him to factory tours etc.
I fucking love my 74, clanky clank indeed, the gun is fun as fuck.
No. Selling a product designed around glitz and glamor and not actually being functional as a primary goal the problem here.
He's not quite that bad which actually makes it more difficult to like him. I can accept someone outright trying to sell a product. MAC can be objective and give a good review, but then he'll plug some bullshit like the Salient Arms finger roaster 9000 here or go throw a handgun against steel plates and call it a durability test.
just so everyone understands how a muzzle device reduces muzzle rise....
this will no do so at all, will redirect hot gasses back onto the barrel and handgaurd causing gun to heat up fast, deposits all your unburnt powder on the outside of your barrel, but should reduce the flash and even noise
if this is your first time seeing the concept yes it's meant to make your muzzle device be less effective (and also less loud to everyone else). see: surefire warden, vg6 cage, ferfrans cqb, griffin blast shield, lantac bmd, etc. you put it on and pull it off as needed.
that's exactly what it does. makes it more like a linear brake.
Salients price or design isn't the issue... At the moment they are currently hemorrhaging as a company. People who actually spend money with them have been continually fucked around, and haven't gotten product that has been paid for at least a year. Many people are moving on to some of the aftermarket companies that actually provide some level of service.
They still take in money while not delivering product, and have pissed of quite a few customers, especially in the last two months. It looks like now they are leaning on other companies help them survive. While I'm not surprised MAC did a video for them, I am disappointed. From what he said, it appears that he was lied to as much as everyone else.
>Just finished up a move
That apparently took a year, and a move in which they lost many customers guns.
>in house manufacturing
I lol'd at that, as I know exactly what machines their stuff has been running on since the beginning, and they are definitely not located at salient
Maybe the Stryk will get them the necessary cash flow to survive as a business, but I have my doubts.
Salient is the embodiment of "fake it 'till you make it", and we will see how that works out for them.
salient's execution is different from the other companies whose blast devices mainly work like a suppressor and QD based on that. surefire and griffin in particular latch onto the same parts that compatible suppressors would latch onto. since no one has salient's in hand (it was actually announced last year) there isn't any use cases to speak of yet.
the point is to have one device when you want it and the covered device when you need less concussion/noise (ie indoors, a shoot house, or other enclosed space). muzzle brakes/compensators tend to get loud.
Innovative Arms W.A.R. upper solves this
>shift center of gravity
NO! cans are fucking awesome and should be removed from the nfa but they are still well worth every penny.
Salient is honestly better as a design place than as an actual manufacturer. what they should have done is get someone else who is actually established to do their machine manufacturing and assemble things in house. actually, that might be what they have going but didn't have enough money to work with an OEM to bring things out timely. from experience OEMs will bump you if a bigger fish comes along with bigger pockets.
if they are indeed bringing things together to be in-house manufacturing then that means they would cut out the middleman and not have to pay someone else to do work but also means that the burden of work is on them
as far as working on other people's glocks and stuff goes, that's a whole different ballgame and they should not be as slow as they are unless they took so many orders for the money that they can't keep up.
not having a decent website is unacceptable for someone of their notoriety though.
>lightening the slide is an "actionable upgrade"
>on a firearm which a heavy as fuck slide is necessary for functioning correctly
Fuck their designs, the abortion of a rail being discussed here is the first product that is actually their own. The previous Salient rifles just used rebranded War Sport LVOA rails.
Not going to lie, the rifle looks sexy as fuck... I'll give them that, but I'm not a fan of the fireball in my hands when shooting.
For the Money I think I would rather get an LWRC M6 IC, or that new cobalt kinetics mag shitting AR instead
Nope. Fuck with everything for aesthetics but don't nigger up the barrel.
>can clearly see the gas from the gun firing just inches away from the target
t-this is satire, right?
MAC is a paid shilling channel. Of course they had nothing but good things to say about their products. About their space marine model pistol He is ditching his glock 19 and 'thinking about making it his primary carry'. Cause an experimental glock knockoff with larger trigger guard and 'tactical' barrel slide profile is totally worth twice the price.
You... guys realize that this is satire and not real right?
They are making fun of salient arms and charging what they do for the guns they do it to
>thinking how many /k/ommandos are actually googling this up to buy one
Indoor range is chill
>line is always hot
>electric zip line to wiz targets out and back
>bathroom 20ft away if needed
>no wind ever but always ventilated
The only downside vs a regular outdoor range is that they are not long range and doubling up on ear pro is pretty much mandatory unless you want hearing damage.
I bought a Recoil magazine one time and it had a thing about what guns certain Firearm Instructors preferred.
Chris Costa like the Salient Tier One Executive Glock, it was his favorite. Looks like S&W forgot to sign their checks.
>Rifle that shoots flame out the handguard
>Pistol with a wide as fuck trigger that has knife blade sharp sides
So you just gotta wear gloves if you own SA guns?
I was excited at first for the strike pistol, then
>SA will handle manufacturing
>That dogshit trigger
>Those 'snag on everything within a foot' suppressor height sights
God fucking dammit
>Put TiN in random fucking places all over the gun.
>Needlessly increase the cost.
>End product is an overpriced, shiny, poorly conceived disaster with a shittier reputation than Taurus.
>I wish i could afford their superior products
>spent all his money on an Apple computer
>can't afford a 4chan pass
>>spent all his money on an Apple computer
The laptop was cheap, pic related is what prevented me from getting a 4chan gold account
>>UNIRONICLY bought a xeon
There are two, and thats only in that box
Playing with ESXi/vSphere inside of Workstation
All these custom glock companies are the same way.
You look at the guns are they look cool, but you're like wait what does it do better than my factory g19 I got for $400. The answer is nothing
They sell guns off aesthetics
I had a Glock and hated it but they are fine how they are. Glocks look like total shit anyway, no amount of money makes them pretty. If you're going to spend more than the gun is worth you might as well have bought a gun that worked for you from the beginning instead of butchering one, not that I care what people do with their shit but the logic really confuses me.
I thought they were the same company?
Also that brings me to the topic that is danced around in this thread.
Snowflake gun companies toss out an AR/1911 or AK with a weird rail, brake or paint job and to show that its somehow better they charge an extra $3000 for it. Fucking noobs think "hurrr it costs more so it must be bestest" and a flame war ensues.
Want a quality 1911/AR/AK? Buy a decent one from a reputable brand and start working on it yourself.
>buy "meh quality" SA 1911
>Add WC parts
>Add SL parts
>practice practice practoce
>Meh 1911 now out shoots much more expensive guns at 1/3 the price
>Salient now synonymous for Ricer/Tactigucci.
Because they needed to take up time in the video and SA doesn't have anything else to record. The place is literally an empty office with nothing finished, MAC flat out said they are MONTHS from having production close to ready.
Did you not see the plywood wall to cover up the rest of the empty wall less office?
>I lol'd at that, as I know exactly what machines their stuff has been running on since the beginning, and they are definitely not located at salient
Were you an employee or affiliate of theirs in the past? Just curious because I was considering "treating myself" to a Salient Glock, but if you have a scoop on what happens behind the scenes, I might just forgo that purchase.
