What would happen if a fully armed top spec Abrams on an exercise went AWOL and decided to shoot up a city?
How would it be dealt with?
Wonder how the hell one of the most protected items in the Army, its ammo, magically got onto a tank for someone to ride away with.
And how multiple people are somehow down at the same time, for the same reasons, to deliberatley go around and shoot up a city. Cause obviously the driver can't gun from the driver's station.
They aren't protected, once you get on base you hop a fence and you're in. I think the hatches are padlocked like all military vehicles so that's easy. No key needed, just pick one that has enough fuel. Now ammo on the other hand, that's hard to get.

>I see this on the news
>suddenly, phone starts vibrating
>I pic it up, it's Barry
>Uhhhhh anon.... nowwwwww let me be clear...
>I'm on it, Mister President
>I spring into action, employing bleeding edge tech and tactics against this homegrown threat
>I am the monster waiting in the darkness
>Pray you'll never need me, but rest easy knowing that all you ever need to do is call
Nah, some national guard guy went coocoo for coco puffs and stole one from the motor pool. all he did was rung some stuff over then get stuck up on a concrete block on the highway.
>How would it be dealt with?
Like any other tank. Fucking kill it with a flanking shot.
And just happen to be 19Ks too, in the same unit. Sure.
>They aren't protected
Yes they are protected. All ammo is centralized in the AHA (Ammunition Holding Area), ammo is not disseminated to the companies, battallions, brigades or even the division. If ammo ever is drawn for training ranges or other events its very METICULOUSLY counted and monitored, to the point all the dunnage (brass, aftcaps, any piece of salvagable ammo) is counted as well. I don't think you grasp how hard it is to get ammo in any kind of actual scale in the military. Particularly 60 lb 120mm shells. 42 of them.
>just pick one that has enough fuel
Which requires you to power on the tank to get that reading, and given you conveniently didn't hijack a tank on a motorpool monday, its probably NOT full. Most of the time the fuel is only left around halfway.
>you hop a fence and you're in
More than 1.
Quads guy here. Stop memefagging with /b/ shit.
Could literally throw anything of mass into the track, if it throws track its not going anywhere. Also fun fact of the day, the lubricant resevoirs on the wheel hubs are made of fucking plastic.
Probably stand in front of it like that ching ching did in China.
Borrow a Challenger 2 to kill the Abrams.
Chally 2 has superior armour, a superior gun, and is internationally acknowledged as the superior tank.
There's nothing trolling or whatever about this. Chobham armour > what the Abrams has. Look at losses in combat. Guys with molotovs take out Abrams. Only a Chally 2 has destroyed a Chally 2.
And yes, the rifled gun is superior.
>I am not trolling
>continues to troll
And the M3 Lee is better than the Challengers shitty dated rifled gun, because it has 2 main guns. Checkmate.
> CHARM 3 estimated 600mm RHAe
> M829A3 estimated 800 RHAe
M1A2 is frontally immune to CHARM 3 unless it hits the mantlet
M1A2 hits Challenger 2 anywhere on the hull and it goes through.
