I think the national air and space museum in VA has one in their restoration area, one of the guides said its one of the remaining planes that was AT pearl harbor.

though im not sure if it was a catalina or a bigger model

I think Black Lagoon (and Uncharted to a lesser extent) put the desire to smuggle stuff in a neato seaplane into me.

If I ever hit it rich, I'm buying a PBY. When they come up for sale, they usually go for ~$325k-$400k.

Blue Lagon did it for me...I'll smuggle 14 year old Brooke Shields lookalikes around the Phillipines..

I did get to see a PBY land and taxi around Clear Lake in Northern California. Pretty cool, and bigger than you might think. It had the front turret faired over and the taller tail, and was blue over white.
