I've seen these "V Light" style lights around and they seem neat. But what I don't get is why I see so many helmets with lights in multiple locations and colors. What's the point? Is it all just cool guy lighting or does it serve a purpus? The rear green and red reminds me of port and starboard.

I think they are geared more toward training and shit. Also most the ones I see are on the rear of the helm.
