That is sub par no matter how you look at it and if you think otherwise, you have some seriously low standards.

Don't listen to these guys. They are being hard on you; at 300 meters with iron sights, you did pretty decent, but it does leave room for improvement.

I'm assuming the white marked ones are part of one group, and the unmarked ones are once he got the sights on.
I'd say he did ok on the latter. It's mostly an up/down string on most holes so I'd guess he was probably doing it offhand, maybe sitting, or at least something other than a solid bench.
I shoot 400 yards fairly often with ak irons, or very similar, that's what I'm basing it on. He would have clanked my targets on most shots anyways if I brought them to a closer 300m.

I generally shoot groups of about a foot with AK irons at 300 yards, which is ~4 MOA. Not great, but better than our conscript in the OP.

Bullshit, my friend is an amazing shot (he was the DMR for his squad on his second deployment) and at 300m with an aimpoint he can group his AR15 at around 5-6 inches. Shooting my AK74, which he has alot less experience with, he can group it at 10 inches with irons.

All of this is prone of course. Iron sights are not conducive to precision shooting, just good enough to hit a man. Anyone claiming to shoot 5 inch groups with an AK at 300m is full of shit.
