You know for "NO GUNZ" the country
Japan is doing a bang up job of education it's population on firearms ( even if it is through the use of cute girls )
shows like Upotte! that airsoft show Girls und Panzer etc.
Do you think if shows like this came out in the west with the same type of info, history and safety the outlook on firearms in the US would change?
Either they are (not so) secretly training the population to a future army. But then this argument can be neglected due to the fact that not every kid/teen/adult watch anime just as not every single person in any other country watches cartoons.
Second, its cartoons, even tho they might be informative it.
>Do you think if shows like this came out in the west with the same type of info, history and safety the outlook on firearms in the US would change?
Do you think COD has 'educated' anyone other than model numbers?
>implying watching anime educates you in any way
that's what makes it seem even more harmless and easier to watch, Japan doesn't really have that "cartoons are for children" stigma that the west has and old people there can be found watching a ton of anime
that's better than nothing, hell at least in the future we won't have every newscaster calling anything that goes bang an AK-47
also have you not seen any of these shows? they teach a lot from model number to proper stuff like not muzzle sweeping and proper trigger discipline
>education it's population on firearms ( even if it is through the use of cute girls )
It is actually the opposite.
These anime are created to entertain people who already have a reasonable understanding of firearms, not to introduce new casual anime fans to the world of firearms.
Military otaku have always existed. They are men who have spent their lives reading obsessively about guns and gun ownership, and they take vacations to other countries to actually shoot guns. They are like the CoD kids only they treat it more like a religion or a lifestyle choice. Airsoft and model tanks were the core products they spent their money on, as well as the Japanese equivalent to magazines like "Soldier of fortune" and "guns and ammo".
In recent years anime has begun to pander to miltiary otaku (the same way rail wars was made to pander to train otaku). Cute girls with guns and an integration of military puns and references that only these otaku would understand.
Pandering to niche otaku is not new, but in recent years anime studios have had more success with it.
Irrelevant. The amount of 'civilized countries' that doesn't flat out ban guns just make his 'almost' statement bullshit.
I know their trying to make most citizen more understand of the military, I hear a lot of japan thinks the JDF is waste of tax payer money and don't see no fit for it.
5:30-6:48 for rifle/waufu case
this made me chuckle
I'll finish off with Asian Hickock45
C3bu wasn't really about guns. It was about the doormat of a protag becoming a half decent assertive human being. In a reatrded and painful way.
>Discount all the "Uncivilized countries" where are a gun in the hands of a commoner would do them good.
I've never understood this "civilized country" argument. A gun should be so you can defend your person, what nation you happened to be born in should have little meaning.
>I hear a lot of japan thinks the JDF is waste of tax payer money and don't see no fit for it.
This is an old sentiment, it's starting to change especially since the whole Island dispute incident, Okinawans excepted.
Everything is dying in Japan anon.
-Their birth are low as shit
-Their jobs are no longer guaranteed
-The economy is in a rut
-Video games are selling less now than ever before.
At least they got their culture I guess.
The price of trying to be racially pure.
They'll have to increase immigration soon.
Or so bad people can hurt you, guns don't kill people, people kills people, and even without guns, we kill each other. But guns make it a lot easier, just ban/restrict them like crazy.
stfu retard don't use words you've seen around 4chan without learning their proper meaning
I'm starting to think JPN is like the internet just irl you know the whole "if you can think it, it exist on the net" well liking asses is pretty vanilla compared to anything else you can think of so i'm sure there are tons of ass otaku
I don't have the original but this is a MGS parody of what the original looked like maybe google will help track down the original
>Somehow, I don't think that's the audience it's actually going for.
The excessive ass is there for crossover appeal to reach a wider audience, but it is genuinely an anime for people who spend their lives stalking trains, recording audio, and fapping to old steam locomotives.
If the train otaku had their way the epsidoe in the train museum would have been a three parter and there would be no girls or action in it.
I Am A Hero is pretty good when it comes to guns.
Those new chapters were fucked up
>mfw i got an erection
>Not liking Kantai Collection
It's just naval moe mate, what the fuck
Plastic BBs and who knows what shotgun shells they're allowed.
Airsofting is a pretty big thing though, and they're ramping up their militar- I mean, Self Defence Forces. It'd be really nice to see them bringing it back properly though
>implying I dislike Kancolle
It just does look stupid in action.
Pretty much. Building the receiver is a lot easier than the bolt, bolt carrier, hammer, springs, rivets, barrel and whatever the fuck.
The CG could turn out alright, the studio doing it is Orange, and they do some very good CG.
Those are mecha fights, not humans though. I'm cautiously optimistic about how it's going to turn out.
Did you not see the PV yet?>>22399201
The main characters have pubescent bodies.
The only loli's are minor side characters.
its like you want to make my raifu mad
This is not a loli.
Learn the difference, it might save your life.
Most of it is just shit you could get from wikipedia.
I get the feeling part of the burst of airsoft and gun related anime is to get more people interested in them and get more people to try combat sports.
Then some recent dirty stuff may seriously be there to get the kids interested in fuckin again.
No, anime in Japan are the leading cause of many of their wild misunderstandings about firearms, similar to Hollywood movies in the U.S.
On the other hand while they don't educate Nips about guns they do hype them up, and an interest in guns is the first step towards murdering millions of Chinamen for no real reason. So that's a good thing.
"Air support please"
"I love woodland pattern camo"
How about a decent set of ears first.
She's gonna have pretty bad tinnitus.
>Japan is doing a bang up job of education it's population on firearms
I'm really confused how your group overblows everything so horrifically. There's more misunderstanding and falsitude being spread about firearms through anime than not, but when very basic elements, like counting rounds or showing a reloading animation, are depicted, the /a/ faction here, more often than not, creams its pants and heaps praises upon the show or, in this case, anime for being so educational. I have a feeling you're just seeing what you want to see. This is not an attack on anime or its presence here, just an observation from a fellow anime viewer.
So she needs more training. If your eyes aren't on target, then your finger should come automatically off the trigger. Moving it inside the trigger guard should always be a concious decision.
When there's so few /k/ related shows coming out, people will grasp on to anything.
More like people who just started out on anime, and Upotte is their first show.
China is probably going to pull some stupid shit within the next decade.
Japan is working on getting rid of the no army crap and beefing up their military.
Being in the military is the only way to play with guns, tanks, and military aviation.
You figure it out
>/a/ faction More like people who just started out on anime, and Upotte is their first show.
this, /a/ here on /k/ is so blatantly comprised of posters who just started watching animu within the last two years, which is why they seriously discuss fucking SAO and, back in the day, C3
Most of them would get their threads shitposted to death on /a/.
Which is why they come here, to our detriment.
I just want to be able to discuss good series and manga, without some retard spamming Upotte screenshots.
the worst part is that they try so fucking hard to be like /a/ that they just come across as retards here on /k/, and if you ever try to call them out on this they accuse of, no shit, hating anime. i wonder how many box sets they have compared to me. they truly are /a/ rejects for the most aprt in my eyes, and i just hide the "/ak/" threads because i know they're just the same bullshit with the same dozen or so assholes that have ruined everything.
>Get's called out for portraying the wrong way to hold an M4
>Buys an airsoft PSG-1 to prove TEEHEE I TOLD YOU ITS HEAVY SILLY GUYS ;3
It's a fucking M4, it's light as fuck.
>dump some manga series
i have so much shit i could do, and i'm tempted to make it some completely irrelevant haremshit just to spite the wannabe fuckwads and make the thread reach image limit.
>GALIL SO CUTE X3
>nope, LoveLoveCamp dump time
I'd recommend Gunslinger Girl, which is basically loli Robocop inna spaghetti land.
Lots of detailed gun illustrations, and operating.
Cat Shit One for your Vietnam fix.
Kutsuzure Sensen for full slavaboo, seriously, that author loves his Slavic folklore.
Gunsmith Cats, of which the author and artist is a self professed gun nut.
That's all I can think of right now.
The really nice ones make great heirlooms.
Nah, he likes to piss people off too much.
He also is actually fairly smart but shitposts to provoke people into dumping the info to teach others in an effort to prove why he is wrong.
For scifi and fantasy, I'd say
Timewarp into WWII done right
>Gate: Thus The JSDF Fought There
An attempt at describing what would happen in a portal opened to a fantasy world in the middle of Tokyo.
It can be silly, but it's also quite fun. Operators operate against magic bullshit. Lots of politics going on.
Reminder that C3-bu sold at bottom in BD/DVD sales for 2013
55600 Shingeki no Kyojin
43723 Monogatari SS
38601 Yamato 2199
33235 Uta Prince-sama 2
412 Inu Hasami
412 Futari Milky
Those sites paste their watermark all over the panels, which is a major eyesore, and they also profit off of other peoples work
Batoto has links to the translation sites, so its easy to download from the source.
Picture is the same as >>22400136, taken from mangafox. Open both in new tabs and you can see the difference.
It's like a love/hate relationship.
On one hand otaku are gross nerds, but on the other hand they have a rather disproportionate buying power for their demographic, so they're well catered to.
I just torrent.
You can stream, but its just subpar.
They'll shove an ad in your face every ten minutes, and pester you to give them your shekels.
Just import box sets and merchandise if you want to support your favorite shows.
Anything not deemed mainstream and average by the Japanese public at large is derided so he's a bit off mark.
These same people of course lead the pathetic existence known as the salaryman/woman, essentially a lower caste for the stratified zaibatsu/corporations in Japan with zero say in anything in their lives.
Yeah, not only that things like manga and certain anime are mainstream. Think Gundam and Miyazaki stuff. Also manga is 100% mainstream as hell, even the lewd shit that gets passed around /h/, to an extent of course.
Otaku pretty much refers to anyone "obsessed" with a particular hobby so as a firearms enthusiast yourself, you'd be mocked and hated by the mainstream as well.
>animated canon adaption
This kills the fandom. 2hu didn't get where it was by Zun fleshing out characters, he made some music and bad art and let fans crystallize it into something huge. Maybe add a few new girls once in awhile, but nothing else.
The inevitable 2hu with guns fanbooks.
nigga has a kid now.
prepare for the milking.
Its a Shootemup game with a huge fanbase.
Its creator also lets fans do whatever they want with the characters.
This means its got a gigantic fanbase, that produces tons of content.
>published on 22 January 2013 in the China National Defense Newspaper, a subsidiary of the state-owned PLA Daily, criticized the anime for promoting "militarist sentiments behind the guise of cute characters";
How can one country be so evil, Japanese is truly the niggers of Asia
Geeze, Zipang is basically just "The Final Countdown" with a Japanese ship so far as I've gotten.
Japanese had the concept a year before The Final Countdown was released to theaters.
Sengoku Jietai, 70's JSDF get zapped back to the Warring States period of Japan, Colonel gets power hungry and changes history. Other guys JSDF decide to fix it.
Also known as GI Samurai
Your going to get angry and your going to jerk off and that's just the way its going to be.
I'm serious. Zipang is damn near exactly the plot of TFC for the first several chapters. Advanced naval ship that could wipe out an entire WWII navy gets sent back in time with a special observer to right before a crucial battle. They encounter the other side's aircraft and it/they explode(s) (shot down). They take one survivor onboard. Military history buff on the vessel confirms that, yes, they are in fact in the past. Watch the movie then read the first few chapters of volume one.
Could your taste get any less bad?
Also torrents for the 2hu music. Be warned, there's a metric shitload of it. Shibayan and Syrufit are excellent, Alstroemeria is mostly excellent, Eastnewsound is good, the rest is pretty hit or miss.
Touhou is huge.
Even Kancolle doesn't have its own convention.
Another /k/ related manga is Ajin.
he cut his fuking ARM OFF because of the tranquilizer?
Shibayan is also great. Mainly the stuff composed by Shibayan himself though.
Magico Catastrofe best album.
I mentioned Shibayan, and I agree; Catastrofe is their strongest album. Retro Future Girls probably comes in second with ?????????? taking the third place. ?????????? has the best track though, ??????
Reisen abandoned her comrades.
She's like a certain ex-PMC that /k/ loves to hate.
Sakuya is pretty operator too.
/k/ like 2hu music too? I don't give a shit about anything else, but I generally like the music that comes out of it.
Also, the japanese have always wanted to be hasgun, but their mom won't let them
He's talking about this event.
Note that this isn't sponsored by Kadokawa at all, and that the designs they have on there are shit.
Boku no hop-up-
I'm not sure how large, but it does exist.
It's probably somewhat exaggerated, but considering how big yaoi is here as a following among nerd girls it can't be by much.
(there was an entire episode of Humanity Has Declined about a printer and some digital files being discovered and a completely /y/ dojin industry being reinvented)
Hold up, homeboy just cut his fucking arm off over a tranquilizer because he wasn't done killing bad guys yet? That is metal as all fuck.
I need to read this.
Oh. That kind of takes away from the magic a little, but at least it's far more logical now.
>Let's just skip ahead to developing Gen 6, guys.
Dammit. If this fucking thing doesn't turn into a giant robot(or a magical girl), I'll be disappointed.
I know, right? It's fuckin' gorgeous. The new militarized Japan seems to hold some promise. Here's the article I pulled from:
>hasn't even flown yet
>might lead to the F-3 fighter in 13 years
>bird in the hand, bush, yadda yadda yadda
Honestly, it'll probably be one conflict before F-35 either justifies itself or is proven a failure and a crash program is launched to replace it.
>P-pilot s-sama!? Don't transform me!
>The enemy will see my p-pantsu!!
Fair enough. But we were THAT FUCKING GOOD, and now we're making the F-35 all-in-wonder jet. Ech! Anyways, the nips are showing some ambition, and it's really pretty ambition! I hope it goes somewhere. We need someone to build against to be truly awesome.
