Did some shopping on impulse the other day. Haven't received them yet. Been into Vocaloid for over 6-7 years but had never bought any figures (mostly because I was a poorfag) so I decided to fix that. Apologies for my paint skills.
Next ones will most likely be GUMI nendoroid and some Mikus. Pretty hard to decide on which Mikus to buy though, there are so many good Miku figures/nendoroids. Looking into plushies too, I'd really like the Luka fumo one but it's minimum $100 to acquire it nowadays.

once you take it out of the standard cellophane sticky-taped protector sleeve, there's an additional, thicker protective case labeled with the album title. the CD case, which opens in a vertical orientation rather than horizontal, has a lyrics booklet with the album art as the cover, and a flip tray with both discs snapped into either side. there is no bottom plastic tray on top of the back tracklisting. the illustration booklet is also included in the inner protector sleeve. the illust book is naturally curly upon first inspection, i guess so i don't have to feel any remorse bending a mint book item open to look at it. the case alone is slightly thicker than a standard CD case to fit both CDs, but with both the protective sleeves back on it makes a greater display item than something to slot into a CD collection.

to answer for the quality, it's just mastered loud. to -0dB. unfortunately most albums are mastered this way these days. as a result, there is little dynamic range because the clipped peaks sound distorted are pumped all the way up as high as they can go so the soundwave is just constantly thrashing against the upper threshold, instead of allowing each track be as quiet as it wants and as loud as it wants so the music has room to 'breathe.' this accompanied with the already artifical sound of vocaloid will sound much worse when converted to a lower bitrate, lossy source. all copies of this are going to sound compressed because it is extremely compressed.

they are both equal in terms of quality. wav is uncompressed completely and flac is compressed without removing any of the sound frequencies

think of a wav file having an finite length, say three minutes, and for every millisecond there's a bit of data telling you what data lies there, from beginning to end. it's a massive stream of data. then think of flac as a set of algorithms that mathematically can be solved to reproduce the same set of data but also be stored in a smaller amount of space.

or even simpler, just think of them the same as BMP and PNG.

i provide WAV rips for anyone that wants to encode from the source audio to another kind of compression themselves, or just have it for archive, or maybe burn their own bit-for-bit reproduction of the CDs. all up to you.
