As someone who was considering circumcision due to phimosis and instead went with curing it by stretching I can safely say that I'm extremely happy that I did not go through with the operation as I now have an almost normal dick now(still very sensitive and my frenelum is pretty tight so it's hard to get the foreskin more than about 1 cm down past the glans but that's a pretty minor issue and will probably get better over time as a couple of months ago I couldn't get it more than a few mm past the glans).

No, washing is not enough. You need to powder it, this prevents the material becoming sticky.
