Like, it's not just about looking like a cartoon character and then having your picture taken, it's about bringing this character to life and using the mask as an excuse to step outside of yourself and your inhibitions a bit. I think culture also plays a large role. In Japan most people have some idea about kig through stage shows or mascots, thus it isn't seen as super weird or cringy and there're actual community events (wasshoi for example). You can just buy a capacitive gel off amazon and apply it to any fabric you want to make capacitive. Its what they do with cheap capacitive gloves. Anyglove is a brand; it wears off over time (quelle suprise) but is likely the simplest solution.

There's also sort of capacitive thimbles (for lack of a better term) to put onto gloves; conceivably, if the fabric is thin enough, wearing one under zentai would suffice.

Finally, if your skin tone is similar enough to the fabric, you could consider a relatively small hole around the apex of each finger pad, that will suffice.

I just got a small pen for it and carry that around with my Phone when I kig outside.

I carry around my touch screen phone all the time while in kig. The screen is less responsive to zentai fingers, but it still works alright. Certainly not worth sewing things into your zentai to try and improve it. Like, you can send texts in kig, it'll just take you a bit longer as you'll have a few more typos
