I would say Umineko.
While the story itself could use some polishing to make it consisten, but it's a gem.
So much fun, discussion, anticipation, and brain work.
>inb4 everyone says umineko sucks, but no one posts what they like because they know everyone else will just say it sucks.
Fate Stay Night.
But realistically everyone will just say Touhou. Back then /jp/ used to actually be about Japan and otaku/japanese culture.
Now /jp/ has become nothing more than a pedophile /touhou/ board.
Toss up between Eden* and Saya no Uta.
Both had me thinking about them for days.
But thinking about it i'd say Saya no Uta wins out because Eden*'s story kinda drags on a little in the middle and the fact they wasted an expansion disk on goddamn useless porn scenes instead of expending the story.
>So /jp/, in your opinion what's the greatest VN you've read?
Naisho no Naisho
Easily Swan Song are SnU, those vns will turn you from a little boy into a man.
Was heavily disappointed with muv luv alternative by it being too short and making awful use of its time
The amount of plebs in this thread is astouding. At any rate, Asairo would be my personal pick, although I think something like Subahibi is better done.
Care to explain why you liked it so much?
I thought it was meh. While story was good I wasn't very moved by the good or bad endings. It's a good look into distopia and natural state of man, but that's not something only SS can offer.
Not in anyway bad, but didn't find it that moving or eye opening.
It was very immersive and more suspenseful than many other vn's I went through at points.
The characters are pretty believable and that made me like them rather quick which made the stuff to come later just destroy me.
The normal end was the best by far and the true end was mehh but good for closure but they ultimately rely on how invested you are
