Going to the New York Miku expo this year actually, havent been before, but i heard that 12 year olds are usually your biggest issue.

Well, approximately how long does a typical Miku live concert run for?

Hologram concerts are essentially paying for a projected MMD Youtube video surrounded by people you probably don't give a shit about, probably have a hard time listening to the music over their screams and be pushed around.

Or, you could have it for free, watch any MMD online with your favorite Vocaloid song and be jerking off during it.
>>
>>14607636

Isn't that the case for most concerts?

I mean even mainstream concerts, the singer will either:

>lipsync
>sing live only for their real live voice to sound nothing like the autotuned album version

But apparently people go for the "atmosphere" like the combined chants and semi-choreographed glowsticks of the audience.
>>
>>14607636
Where does that gap lead to.
>>
>>14607648
Actually, most people that go to concerts are maniacs that want to be as close as possible to their favorite singer and become apeshit fanatics.

If you're someone who doesn't have a sense of celebrity worship, concerts are complete nightmares.

Going back to the concert general discussion, I imagined that video related is an example of the appeal and charm of concerts:

>waving glowsticks
>call and response (not if sure if this is correct term)
>chants
>the entire concert hall singing along with certain parts of the song
>>
>>14610315
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9WOdnR-Nfs
>>
>>14610315
It really depends on the type of concert. Glowsticks aren't that popular outside of raves and other pop concerts. Harder rock and almost all punk and metal will have mosh pits, circle pits, walls of pain/death, bitch-ass slam dancers and so forth. You'll find a greater variety of drugs at raves. Jazz, blues, and classical shows/concerts are great if you want to feel intellectually superior to the plebes.
>>
>>14610969
Had to google this mosh pit thing, what the fuck is wrong with these people?

>>
Yes, you can check out her shimapan
>>
>>14608245
Just do what I did and tell some of the fans to stop being faggots. That got them to shut up for a bit.

Also if they still act like animals, tune them out since you're here to see Miku. Focus on the performance and you'll be just fine.
>>
>>14610996
Mosh pits are great to relieve stress and also have unwritten rules to keep thing fun. Behaving like a dick and flinging your arms around or punching people in a mosh pit is a good way to get a stealth elbow to the gut and get your ass dragged out.

But honestly those hologram concerts sound kinda boring. Half the fun of a concert is the bands interaction with the crowd. Espcially bands with batshit insane frontman like Mindless Self Indulgence and Electric 6.

But this is pretty much a video on a fancy projection screen unless they somehow hooked up the 3D models to a computer and have the guy behind the screen control the Vocaloids in realtime to make it at least a little more authentic but somehow i doubt it.
>>
>>14611826
They do. Concerts are rendered live. And there is a live band.

>Half the fun of a concert is the bands interaction with the crowd.
Miku interacts wit audience as well, however it's all scripted.
>>
>>14611834
But thats just canned actions like waving and dance routines right? All the Miku live looked very mechanical. Almost uncanny valley.

Random shit like this where the singer just calls everyone incredibly fucking stupid is what makes concerts fun.

That's a tough one. On one hand, you can say you've seen a hologram preform in a concert, and on the other hand, it's Miku

I occasionally go to metal concerts, went to about 20 in total.
Usually there are more guys, but not by a large margin.
Didn't had any problems until now, luckily, most of them are reasonable and just want to enjoy the music.
However, I went to a Versailles concert once and was shocked by all the weeb teenage girls. I swear they weren't for the music there, but rather to show off and drool over the musicians.
After the concert they were even complaining on a forum as to why the fuck some adults went there, as if we had no logical reason to be there (and I didn't even talk to any of them).
Later, on a Dir en Grey concert it was the same, I doubt they know what the lyrics are about or otherwise they wouldn't scream and jump around in happy ecstasy.
I guess for them the genre doesn't matter, as long as it's a japanese artist, they will always go.
And the internet still makes fun only about the stereotypical male weebs, when there are more girls like these out there.
If you encounter these degenerates, it's best if you somehow manage to get into first row, or rather just stand somewhere off-side so you can peacefully enjoy the concert. Don't look at their crowd, it will only disgust you.
>>
>>14613350
Also remember to wear a protective suit or the bats will bite you
>>
>>14613601
Ive seen this allot at Japanese bands in my country. Mostly teenage girls and boyfriends of said girls who get dragged along.
I dont even bother anymore going to Japanese bands for this reason alone since their the worst crowd there is.

One that stood out the most a Plastic Tree gig where crowd the room was literately layered in 3 parts:

-Girls at the front part drooling over the band
-Bored looking boyfriends of said girls in middle.
-People who came for the music looking a bit lost hanging at the back

It was surreal...

I'm planning on going to the Miku expo in Tokyo but the only tickets that I can get now are 20000yen on viagogo. Do you think it's actually worth to do so? I want to visit Tokyo anyway but the price of a ticket seems to be around the same place as a one way flight to Japan.
>>

I'm sorry, anon, it was more than 5 years ago and I can't find the forum.
Even if I could, it's not in english.
Sadly it's true, a sudden rage filled me and wanted to register there just so I could tell them to get off their imaginary high horses, but I calmed down, knowing it would be entirely futile for these kinds of people.

miku concerts have this as well sorta. Mostly just cosplayers looking for another event to dress up at and generally looking bored throughout the entire concert because they cant stand the music. Way to waste a ticket faggots

Generals attract people outside of jaypee, and vocaloids are one of them.
A thread detailing the social events jaypee enjoys would head straight to the archives.
>>
>>14606460
Saw this thread late, sorry

I went to the Miku concert in LA a few years ago. It was actually very fun, I'm glad I went. There were no mosh pits or anything crazy, just a room packed to the max with nerds in cosplay outfits (since it was directly after a convention). It's a mandatory sit-down concert with absolutely no picture taking so keep that in mind.
You just go to your seat with your glow stick and wave it along to the music watching the holograms do their things with a live band playing their music behind them. So the only pre-recorded part is of course the vocaloids singing. Of all the weeb shit I've done in life, that was probably one of the most exciting and I didn't have any regrets. I've been to probably 20 concerts in life, most being rock...one or two rap..but Miku's was very cute and a good memory.

Hope that helps

ive been to all the l.a concerts and ive never seen it enforced but probably because its people using their phone. There's always a first time though

There's nothing worse than some shit head in front of you holding up a phone or tablet recording ten minutes of the concert in low light with a shitty camera while getting jostled around.

I intentionally smash elbows so people drop their phones when I see that. Put your fucking electric pacifier away and actually enjoy the thing you paid money to see.

Get together eight or more sweaty strangers in a confined dark space. Run around shoving and elbowing each other to loud music for one to twenty minutes. One person must leave with a broken nose. One person must be fat as fuck, shirtless, and extra sweaty.

There, you've just spent time in in a mosh pit! Google "wall of death" if you enjoyed this activity.
