The reason they say they want to date a foreigner is for the "neat" factor. If any of them realized that it entails a lot of extra work in order to overcome language and cultural barriers, mutual work to sort out misunderstandings, and a lot more effort to keep expectations in check.

These women probably think on some level that foreigners will somehow follow all Japanese customs, means of thinking about things, and have a similar cultural background to work off of. If they ever dated one, they'd probably be all pissy that they don't act like either a Japanese guy, or some version of a foreign man that exists only in their heads.

Japanese men are a shame to humanity, in my family to cousins went to Japan to study with a japanese program for foreigners called MEXT and both of them got married with qt japs in a year later.
