Spain as a country may have no future.
I had hopes for the EU to act as a force of reason, but after the rapefugee crisis I don't feel sure in the continent.

Spain could be a functional country, and in fact the basic systems work well (healthcare, education -although it could improve-, infrastructure, retirement, tourism, etc.). It's governed by corrupt politicians (same as other South European countries) but with a serious EU we could be decent.

1) Spain doesn't have a plan of future. It could focus on being the European trade port for South American and African goods, but little is done.
2) It could try to get the South American elites. Building a couple private prestigious Universities and creating some kind of Cambridge and Oxford for the Spanish speaking elites. But we don't do that. Try to get their money and their brains, and compete against Miami. But we don't.

The dangers are:

>A lack of long term planning (except infrastructures).
>Proximity to Africa. The Magreb countries will become shit with muslim women breeding like rabbits and their countries having no brainpower nor natural resources anymore.

What direction would you give to Spain for the future?

"Unnecesary" infrastructures are a ridiculous % of our GDP. Some local caciques built stuff like the Aeropuerto de Ciudad Real (that was a crime) and the one in Castellon.
Apart from that I would merge the 3 Galician airports into one, but more subways, tramways and railways are a good thing for Spain.

Tramways can share the space with cars, and can be useful for making peatonal streets in the center of the cities. Also good for urban renewal in general with bike lanes.

Tramways are a good investment. You invest in urban renewal, you invest in Spanish industry (we build the tramways too), reduce oil import, contamination, can make the cities better looking (so more tourism), and they are usually profitable. The only big cost is the construction of the lanes, that's why they should be financed with State funds, not only by local authorities.
