What would happen if the Mexican military overthrew the Mexican government Pinochet style? How would Mexicans react?
I think a very small liberal section of Mexican society would be against it. The majority would be indifferent as they're already used to a shit government and the right wing would support it.
word on the street is that the mexican army is the only state force actually fighting narcos
the military is actually quite hard to corrupt and bribe compared to the police, so i assume it will turn into a nationalist regime of some kind

Kind of figured this. Me and a friend are trying to write a story and Mexican military launching a coup against the Federal government is a sub-plot after a very blatant rigged presidential election puts a universally hated candidate in office. The US attempts to influence the military leadership, and ends up fucking things up and splintering the group starting a bunch of infighting between the army and navy.
i don't think anyone would care. leftists would make angry hashtags and orderly demonstrations maybe.
they tried before and couldn't handle the population anyway.
it's comfiest for them to take government money and just kill narcos every now and then.
they also help in hurricanes.
i mean surely they are doing a terrible job, but its much better than what the police is doing
>leftists would make angry hashtags and orderly demonstrations maybe
>kiwi posting in favour of ordaz and PRI
the government doesn't kill students in mexico city anymore, they learned that kids just want to go out and vent their frustration.
it's the ones outside the capital that get killed.
It's the only Mexico-related one of those I have 2bh
My IQ is higher than yours, but that's not the point here. It's interesting to see an Amerindian region with a relatively high average IQ. Or am I missing something here? Is there maybe some eng. industry based there?
no, there is literally nothing in the yucatan peninsula, just a big crater and some tourist resorts, mayans are based people
also that post was not meant to be aggressive or anyhting
It's pretty much just tourism and mid sized towns based around low level manufacturing there. The far west of the Yucatan peninsula has oil but that's actually the dumber area apparently.
I think Maya were always more advanced than other Amerindians. They were the only Mesoamerican socities to have a fully developed writing system and math literacy.
>tfw I was about to come brag that mine is 117
>beat by one point
feels bad senpai
Mayas are pretty isolated from the rest of Mexico. They were lucky enough to not fall into the stupification trap that most of Mexico fell into.
that map is gay
Central Mexico is GOAT
