I get what you're saying about soldiers not all being nazis and a lot of them being forced to act because of the circumstances beyond their control. It has been a while since I watched any WWII movies but to say all of them paint the germans as inhuman butchers is inaccurate though. Art is not inherently propaganda because germans are shown as the "bad guys". I get that they're humans, as do most people I assume. America coralled the Japanese up in gaurded camps as well, they could have killed them and the majority of the population would have had no idea...
