the countries between Mexico and south America are completely irreverent and in all honestly little Mexico's

American culture is definitely steamrolling into Mexico thanks to NAFTA and Northern Mexico is beginning to look a lot like the American southwest. which is funny because Northern Mexicans are the most patriotic.

Mexico will always be a Hispanic country. and Spanish will always be spoken their, but id say in about 50 years Mexico, when the Mexican economy is close to being in the top 10, it will be more friendly towards American culture.

Mexico will never be like a country on par with, lets say Russia but more like what Argentina used to be.

as it stands now Mexico is Mexican and social issues(Trump fanatics) in the U.S. is weakening all cultural fusion done over the last 20 years.

mexico's just kind of mexico.

the only problem is that its middle class is an american colony, they watch the fucking super bowl and follow american viral culture diligently, it's really fucking cancer.

otherwise they're neo-indiginists that try to shove indigenous art down your throat like they've got anything to do with it in the first place.

everyone else holds on to more traditional mexican culture but are dumb as rocks.

hmm that's interesting. I'm from a largely rural part of Mexico and computers aren't that common and everyone only watches soccer and novelas.

everyone where i'm from are either castizo, or mestizo. and the natives are always really poor.

Catholicism, Farming, and partying are all we do.

We never know about those cunts, no one travels there, they don't have large media that might influence us, they're not politically or economically relevant enoguh to make us interested on who they are-

Of course we are simmilar to them, but these simmilarities are not really getting stronger.

On the other hand, Gringos really influence everything here: from music to clothing and media

Southeastern Mexico is a lot more like Guatemala.
Northern Mexico is more like the US.
Central Mexico is 50/50
>>
>>54854678
I can confirm.
Just curious though, what parts did you travel through and when?
>>
>>54855637
I actually would be down for making Guatemala a mexican State if they want to.
I don't think the US would let us though.
>>
>>54857336
i lived in mexico city from 2004-2010 and back in 2012. i did a lot of central mexico, which wasn't very interesting. i travelled a lot to Oaxaca, Guerrero, Michoacan with a few trips to Nayarit, Chiapas and Sinaloa until the drug trouble started. then i went a lot to Yucatan and Veracruz. Finally the last year i lived there i got to briefly visit Chihuahua, since i had a few friends there.

Oaxaca and Yucatan are god-tier. Guerrero, Chiapas and Michoacan a shit.

Sinaloa and Chihuahua are pretty weird, especially since everyone i knew there were ranchers living a rich cowboy dream.

>>
>>54855911
We don't say that. I've never known a mexican claiming to have spanish blood.
>>
>>54858884
then you've never met rich mexicans. their most annoying habit (which they share with a lot of rich latin americans) is that they try to distance themselves from the rest of their country out of embarrassment, their only defense being their "race."
>>

>>
Latin America

>>
>>54858928
That's true. I'm middle class, and most of my circle is too.
>>
>>54859227
>not having poor fag and rich fag friends equally

It's like you don't want to succed
>>
>>54859268
in my experience in mexico (and latin america as a whole) richfags and poorfags (or rather middle classfags) avoid each other. they each have their own set of slang (rich slag sounds effeminate and faggy to poorfags and poor slang sounds crass and vulgar to richfags) they have their own schools (richfags are never seen in a public school) and their own neighborhoods.

when together, richfags grow bored with the more quotidian activities of poorfags (as well as they feel in danger easily, kek) and poorfags resent richfags since they can't afford any of the richfag's habits.

poorfags hate wealth and richfags are embarassed by poorfag's lack of "education," however that is shown (their political views, their vocabulary, their sense of humor)

you've got some serious social segregation issues. i can't remember where i read it, but i remember in an analysis of latin american social classes it said that in any given country the upper class has more in common with the upper class of other latin american countries than with the lower class of their own native country.
>>
>>54856815
More like the southwest US is like northern mexico
>>
>>54858884
I have spanish blood, a lot more than native blood but that's common and irrelevant where I live so people rarely talk about those things except when talking about their ancestry, where they came from etc. For instance my cousins family came from Italy, so we discuss that sometimes, not often though.
>>
>>54859381
I'm pretty sure almost every country has this
>>
>>54859381
I tend to get along well with pretty much every kind of person I've met, but I do notice the segregation among people.

I hope this shit would really start getting better since it really fuels our overall problems
>>
>>54859627
you have two mutually exclusive camps not only actively working against each other but literally trying to pull away from the other. it's the worst leftover from the spanish hegemonic system (to the point where it's created a "peacock mating" issue where whiteness seen as attractive, since it represents wealth, status and education, regardless of a person's appearance, i mean for fuck's sake every advertisement features white people)

so the rich help themselves and the poor undermine the system. it's also part of what i call "soy un chingon y hago lo que quiero" mentality, where everyone's kind of given up on the country so they start acting against society (bribes, littering, recklessness in general) since they figure dog-eat-dog is the most beneficial attitude.

it's the single WORST set-up for a country to have since the rich are going to (in american fashion) avoid a growth in the middle class and the middle class is going to push for counter-productive socialist policies causing really, really slow all-around development.

not to mention how the rural parts of mexico never seems to benefit from any of this...

>>

>>
>>54855911
Maybe not the hippies that go full "muh aztecs, DEBUELBAN LOS HOROS!" but when you talk to """""white"""" mexicans/south americans they always try to step aside from their indian blood saying they're spanish decendents
>>
We have more in common with the USA than with the central american states, the country completely disconnected it existen of those countries after they separated from Mexico, only from once in a while some news come from them.

But most mexicans only know about central america was the cold war dictatorships that used to rule and central americans migrants traveling the country going to the USA.

They are hard to tell apart to other than there funny accent and way of saying some things, I have worked with some guatemalans, and one I was sure was a southern mexican actually turned out to be guatemalan, turns out that they culture is is greatly influenced by mexican culture, mostly banda music and television.

On the other hand, the USA, we have had more than a hundred of years of political contact, migrations, treaties, culture domination from the USA, that's it ingrained.

>>
>>54854024
Well i actually live in a border town with Coahuila state and tbqh senpai the relations are extremely friendly. Even the recent immigrants love both countries.
>>
>>54860563
No one speaks like that you moor. Thats tacospeak from Los Angeles.

It's like saying all spainmoors speak the same castilian.

I actually met real guatemalans and work with them. Guatemala has a large rural population, so they have a huge influence in the way they speak form the native languages from the indigenous , that neutral spanish you speak of is only spoken by the people from the capital. Nicaragua and Honduras as I remember haz a similar way of speaking it like they talk with a rhythm.
