I can speak only for myself, as the french notoriously never agree on anything, but I think he isn't that bad for a leftist candidate, I think he is more sincere, and probably more naive than Clinton. Hence, I prefer him.
Too bad the rightist american candidates decided to act crazy to demarcate themselves.
They will never win this way.
>>
>>54844332
He is a great person, just like Clinton. At least, that's what the cool people on tv tell me.
>>
>>54844332
The only people who know him and his policies are people who read up on events in other countries.

Other than his name I don't think anybody I know knows who he is, just another American presidential candidate.

The news hasn't really gone in depth about the US elections yet, but when the campaigns start it'll become like a soap opera for the rest of the world. Wacky shit happening, maybe a scandal, laughing with the ridiculous claims and shit they say, etc, etc.

>>

France everyone is right economically except sanders who is center-left for European standards. Hillary is just batshit insane and wants to ban guns+raise taxes to pre-Reagan levels which is why Republicans treat her as the devil.

American left - right =/= European left - right for various reasons, and its not America being skewed to the right its just it being odd compared to Europe.
>>
regarding the US presidential election, the media talks about trump and clinton mainly. Sanders gets the occasional mention as a socialist though.
>>
>>54844332
The way I see things, Bernie and Trump are polar opposites of each other. One advocates for a Communist America and the other for a Capitalist America. This is going to be the meme election of the year and if Bernie wins, it means we have already lost to the Reds, for they have planted the seeds of destruction long ago.

The Regressive Left.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regressive_left

The portion of the far-left which makes alliances with, apologizes for, and fellow travels among far-right Islamists, revanchists in Russia, and pretty much everybody who is aligned against the West and its values. Guilt-driven bans on free speech, racist inequality in the name of fighting racism, etc. Some crossover with far-right. You get the picture.

Sanders doesn't spend time making excuses for suicide bombers and saying how everything Putin fucks is our fault. That isn't to say he couldn't ever, but it's not what he focuses on. He's more focused on class inequality, old-fashioned racism, that sort of thing. If they ever met, they'd have what to talk about, but ultimately they're moving in two different directions.
>>
>>54856384

They are actually. Once OPEC crashes because of the pricing war they refuse to budge on with the U.S. shale and Russian oil producers the petroleum market will be more competitive and one-trick regressive economies with state owned oil producers that have way more influence than they should will have finished in global politics.

Because the last time they tried having a strong male leader, the holocaust happened.
>>

Not him but he did do this quite a bit during his time on the back benches and even nearer to the front. I assume he's had to take a more moderate line in his polemics since assuming leadership to keep his more centrist MPs happy enough to avoid ripping Labour to shreds. That and reshuffling his cabinet since the Syrian intervention vote.

Corbyn doesn't excuse radical islamists, nor does he ally himself with them. What you are probably referring to is his work with the Stop the War coalition which has been very busy this century trying to stop the wars in the Middle East. Corbyn s a great believer in diplomacy. He realises that if we close down diplomatic channels and start bombing areas instead we'll never achieve lasting peace. With regards to Russia Corbyn wants to strengthen a bond between the UK and Russia which will be a great boon to European diplomacy as well as Middle Eastern diplomacy.

Corbyn simply doesn't care enough or know enough to be involved in gender and racial politics. His focus is very much economic and foreign policy.

i mean, you do understand that it is in everyone's interest to live in an educated and healthy society, right?

of course, neither of those things are achievable within even two terms of presidency in the US.

Having worked in multiple single-payer healthcare systems abroad as well as privately in the US, I can say that single payer is no better than the system in the US. It just has a different set of positives and negatives. Personally, I'd choose privatized.
>>
>>54857047

So diplomacy for the sake of diplomacy is a sufficient enough cause for a political platform? Great.

He would have done better stressing only his belief in diplomacy over war (which is what any politician would get on board with regardless the situation) instead of hopping on board the I Told You So bandwagon every time a head is not found on its corresponding neck or a bus is blown up. I'd urge you to look up his interviews on both Lee Rigby and 7/7

>>54857217
>Is Clinton as corrupt and inept as people say?
Inept is a meme because of Benghazi, something that happens under every administration. Corrupt? I don't know about that, but she sure is a slimy fucker. She outspokenly supported TTP, the Keystone pipeline, the invasion of Iraq, etc, but every time she's questioned about those, she just says "No, I changed my mind!", just like she did about same-sex marriage, which she didn't support until very recently (after it became trendy and popular). She's also the reason Marc Rich got pardoned, and well, just look at him.
>>
>>54856275
I'd gladly let our GDP shrink for a more even distribution of wealth and a civilized healthcare program
>>
>>54844332
It doesn't matter, he cannot win due to the Democrat's Superdelegates. Too many exist for Bernie to win at his current support.

>>
Bernie's plan calls for an effective tax rate of around 73% on the rich in order to be funded and even then that is only a "best case" scenario. He'll also raise taxes massively on all workers with his payroll tax increase, potentially a VAT, as well as other proposed increases. People won't stand for that shit.

lol what other numbers do you want to pull out of your ass. He wants to make new tax brackets for multi-millionaires and the most they will pay will be 54% vs the current 40%.
>>
>>54858390

If you combine the proposed increases in payroll taxes, income taxes, and others, the top tax bracket would come out at 73%.
>>
Almost Japanese doesn't know him. Our news doesn't cover American elections.
