México is written with x, not with j.
Whoever writes México with J because of ignorance must be informed of the history of the "x" in the relations between Spain and its former colonies, and the history of the vengeful Franquismo against México's support to the Spanish Republic. The arbitrary decision to replace the "x" to "j" was first a strike by Andres Bello, then picked up by the RAE. But since this happened when México was in its independence, the country kept its name with X. The exception was the brief, absurd, Europeanized and grotesque "Mexican Empire" by Agustin de Iturbide, quickly ouverthrown (and their "emperor" properly executed at the time). The country regained its name and since March 19, 1823, in México the only ones that use the "j" are the Iturbidistas, maximilianistas, and sinarquistas cristeros, ie the most ancient and rightwing boot lickers. With these data, it is clear that the "j" results from reactionary to colonialist and anti-Republican. Partly that's why the Franquismo favored the "j", and the always docile RAE, kept saying, until today, that the "j" is "correct". By that logic, it is also correct to write Harturo Perrez Bust, a "treacherous fourth class bastard" by the decree of the Royal Spanish Academy, with which its academics can lick my boots, despite the fact that some dull and delicate sensibilities may consider this a rudeness.
The vast majority of Mexicans are so with X, and the country is officially called "United Mexican States". with X. There should be no discussion, I think.
Whoever wants to justify it because "the RAE allows it" should learn that the RAE has no authority and should study and learn grammar: the names are not subject to spelling rules, so, if someone is named as their birth certificates say, that name is respected or it starts raining blood.
And, whoever writes México with J just to fuck with Mexicans, can go fuck themselves, without much explanation.
