>>53939239 It wasnt that big of a deal m8 Mostly nomadic tribes from finland building semi permanent settlements that are the basis of many european capital cities. Many historians debate the extent of the empire and the true power they held in their lands
>>53939554 PRESENT ME THE FUCKING EVIDENCE OF LONG TERM OCCUPATION OF WESTERN RUSSIA EXCLUDING THE FORTRESS OF MOSCOW HUH I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO TRIES TO TELL ME THAT ANCIENT FINNS HAD ANY REAL CONTROL OF THOSE LANDS I TAKE FINNISH HISTORY VERY SERIOUSLY
>>53939492 This is false, but you're kidding. I mean, right? Fuck me right in the boypussy if Rome or Athens were founded upon the ruins of some tribes from Finland. Maybe in some sci-fi about parallel universe.
>>53939829 Do they seriously not teach this in schools? Rome and Athens were built on the foundations of Finnish settlements. Most of them have moved on by the time that the Romans and Greeks arrived. The only reason why they inhabbited the previously finnish sites is because fins left behind cultivated fertile land and drained the swamps around rome
>>53939946 >>53939951 Fuck you Finns, seriously. And your personal space. Why wont you ever touch You needed so much personal space you had to conquer the entire continent for every Finn to live in his city
>>53935300 Sweden has pretty much white washed its ancient finnish history, there is archeological evidence of ancient tomb stones and saunas in Stockholm(or should I say Tukholma) yet the swedish government claims it was founded first in the 13th century by some guy named Birger Jarl(which is obviously a fake name).
Most swedes are aware of their finnish heritage but we had such an inferiority complex that we instead made up stereotypes that finns are knife-wielding drunks.
I know you're joking but...it's closer to truth than false. Look up "Mälaren axes". Finno-Ugric axes were made in Stockholm before Swedes came there. I think it was just a backward province of the Finnic empire though no wonder we didn't bother defending it.
The Finns are a strange, silent people, and have come to have the reputation of being wizards. It is thought that they can use this power for either good or bad, and as they are somewhat feared by the average sailor, he takes pains to be on good terms with them. It is generally believed that a Finn can make all the rats leave a ship if he wishes and that Finns have a great deal of control over the winds. They can raise a storm by spells and it is unwise to anger them. I have heard old sailors tell of certain Finns who were members of the same ship’s company with themselves in past voyages, who could send messages to absent friends on shore by gulls which would light upon the rigging at their call. They also told of a Finn who had a bottle of liquor from which he could drink several times every day without lowering the contents. It always remained just so full, day after day and week after week.
