So they renovated the local McDonalds
Australian McDonalds is really going for the gourmet burger market isn't it. FFS they actually make the patties, cut up the vegetables and put the burger together right there in front of you. Also the Burger actually tasted like a fucking burger with actual meat and real ingredients, not McDonalds.
Is this the future of McDonalds?
if so theyre entering a market where there is already shitloads of competition especially with smaller local chains. everyone knows maccys is the place to go for shit food. they should keep it that way
Who honestly gives a shit. My ideal mcdonalds would be a screen were you order and your food comes out of a hole in the side of the building. Basically a giant vending machine Why would i want to interact with some minimum wage faggot for my shitty fast food?
My ideal 4chan would be a screen where you post memes and a meme comes back through a blue square. Why would I want to talk seriously with some burger faggot when I just want memes.
This is actually how McDonalds works here in Australia.
You order off a screen, they show you cooking it at the front and push it out to you.
>people actually line up for In and Out in Sydney
Honestly never understand this shit, Australia does not lack in good food, there's gourmet burger joints in fucking every suburb these days.
Actually a big part of the historical success of McDonald's is that there's very little that Head Corporate leaves up to chance, but they also gave franchisees quite a lot of options from amongst those that they would provide. What's started to piss off franchisees recently is that the centralised menu has had rapid changes such as all-day that have negatively impacted on their business model.
The thing about this franchise model is it's really all or nothing. If head office get it wrong, everyone suffers.
While the success of a restaurant heavily depends on a country's culture the QSR is indeed becoming less popular globally. Fine dining is slowly starting to replace the fast food sector. This is why McDonalds upgraded their food variety with "healthier" alternatives
Maccas is supposed to be quick, cheap, and dirty.
I swear, this obsession with "authenticity" is ruining everything.
I blame white people. They're the only ones suckered in by this nonsense.
honestly the function of McDonald's in most capital cities is to provide regularly cleaned publicly accessible toilets
I wonder about this myself. I'd even get rid of the screen and get all the punters to order their food online, with an automat type arrangement for the prepared food.
Australia was actually the first place to roll them out. Australian McDonalds is the "testing" market for McDonalds new ideas. There is a McDonalds in Sydney called "The Corner" or something which is actually global McDonalds main laboratory for new ideas. Ideas that work well in "The Corner" are then tested in a wider Australian market then a global market.
