How are you Russian anons handling this?
>Sanctions will only make Russia stronger!
>You are going to hurt yourselves more than you will hurt Russia
Lmao, little weak Russia btfo
>Everyone says the same for American economy. Nobody wants that dollar anymore
Are you joking?
US unemployment rate - 5%
Highest GDP and highest salaries in the world - people come from all over the world to work in the US, people literally climb over the border and work doing construction for cash to live in the US
like 90% of top Universities are in the US
>mfw some cucked finnboy will come crying in how us and eu should stop bullying russia
Considering Russia's USSR had just collapsed along with trying to switch to capitalism in a retarded way, it's not surprising if a moderately competent and less than absolutely corrupt leader could produce those results. Putin is only remarkable in that he was good enough with his KGB friends to keep basic law and order.
It had been 9 years since the collapse.
Keeping law and order in Russia and being moderately less corrupt is an accomplishment to be honest.
Look at Ukraine, Central Asia, Mongolia, or much of the non-oil rich middle east.
Comparing GDP figures and attributing it to the man in charge is stupid anyways. They barely affect how the economy grows, foreign policy is what matters.
The Ukraine is a perfect example of what would have happen with your country if it had chosen to mantain good relations with Russia
Russian influence means corruption, loss of sovereignty and collapse
Other people doing badly isn't exactly good for us.
This likely means Putin will have a scapegoat (sanctions), will be more agressive in foreign policy, and parts of Eastern Europe (Finland, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland) will be negatively effected in GDP.
It does, when there is a crisis in every major country they are growning, they are now independent energetically, have strong growth and money from all over the world run to the US
>This likely means Putin will have a scapegoat (sanctions)
He would be in charge regardless, and people will always love him as long as Russia is better off than the Yeltsin years.
We might as well fuck with them.
That number alone tells you nothing
Japan has higher debt rate than any other country in the world
Argentina's debt rate was pretty low compared to advanced countries and they defaulted
We're certainly doing far better in relative terms than China, Russia, EU aside from Germany, and the other BRICS are. All we have are blacks being subpar as usual for whatever reason(nothing new) and the occasional Muslim thing which neither the EU, Russia, or China is immune to either.
initially I was the one to ask proofs on US doing any good so far
don't reverse please and first show me those proofs, or I'll have to consider that you're just another shit talking third world pro-american scum :(
What about China?
The Ukrainian crisis only happened because they did not mantain good relations with Russia.
Good relations with the EU has put them in a 20% recession and increased their debt to record highs.
In 1998. 1999 was a boom year that made up for the growth.
Not really. We've only grown about 16% in compounded terms compared to Russia's 5%.
Also, comparing unemployment figures is stupid because we count our Participation Rate differently than Europe and Russia.
Still, Russia is pretty fucked. Oil is a boom and bust industry.
>buying loans that were going to default on
We hold 70 percent of our own debt and 22 percent of the remaining debt is owed to meme cuck countries like Japan who would have to forgive it if we told them to. So our real external national debt is only eight percent.
> We're certainly doing far better in relative terms than China, Russia, EU aside from Germany, and the other BRICS are.
the question is how much better comparing to US say 30 years ago (relative to Soviet Union and Europe)
Putin would still be in charge, but his public support levels would be much lower. For who would he have to blame?
Every politician is blamed for the economy. Yeltsin was blamed for fucking up the Russian economy. The Arab Spring was sparked by bad middle eastern economies. The USSR collapsed because of a bad economy. Many US presidents have been kicked out for bad economies.
created union with belarus
russian player won wimbledon
became the chairman of summit
Put nato into place
Created the Eurasian Union
Won the ice hockey chanpionship
won the most medals
Moscow will be a part of Poland, and I'm ok with it.
Relative? BRICS went from 4% of World GDP in 2000 to 20% in 2015.
Absolute terms we have always been richer than them so I don't get your point.
China is still growing 5-6% according to most analysts.
>Russia used to be home and protector of Slavs
>Slavs no longer want anything to do with it
This is madness, Eddington.
You don't go to prison, usually it's between you and your cable company. They'll shut off your internet as a warning for the first time, next time they'll fine you, which you can contest in court.
Why are you talking out of your ass?
You know nothing about relations of our countries and you can't find Slovakia on the map, so kindly shut the fuck up
Our exports to Russia are meme tier

So you're saying Western sanctions did not give Putin a scapegoat?
He's going to blame the West for low oil prices? The people who consume most of the world's oil? Even Russians are not dumb enough to believe that.
>enjoys himself and his country
You're putting words in my mouth. I'd rather live in Norway or Switzerland.
The USA is not a great country in a lot of ways, but it's far better than Russia in many aspects.
China is still growing three times as fast as America with a stagnant population.
Our economy is growing 2% with a 1% population increase.
If it wasn't for China being a total dump, I'd prefer being Chinese in 2016.
And who has in Russia?
There are legitimate criticisms of Russia being worse than America. But that one is wrong and stupid and it explains why Russians hate us.
Blame Russia for their isolation after Crimea.
TV viewers swallow all dumb shit state propaganda offers them, he can spin it as he likes.
Putin said in 2014 that the world economy will collapse if oil will be below $80. It was reported back then but nobody even mentions it here now. Free media would eat him alive but he's safe no matter what he says.
>Russian telling Americans to leave an American imageboard
>your childs never will go in colledge by free
Many Americans go to college for free. Nobody in America cares about the Russian university that you mentioned.
..Actually, nobody in the world seems to care...
Pls, in you """""universities""""" seriously study a shit from herring whores.
Poland is a lot better than USA.
Also, USA had chances to be great, but you had choiced English, not French..
if you're telling that serious, you gotta be a retard
It's japanese imageboard.
Are you Stanford or Harvard graduate? Average americans don't come near these places, it's so fucking stupid when community college champs brag about it.
Yes, because China is still developing. And by the way, according to many reports China is not growing at five to six, more like 0 to three. Not to mention they have had to freeze their stock market and not let anyone sell anything.
Go home Chinaboo.
Murripoors don't have this
The only butthurt I see in this thread are most Russians screaming Whataboutisms/Russia stronk foolish West, while the few sane Russians agree with the article and know Putin is full of shit.
I hope those latter Russians can escape and go to someplace not nearly so terrible.
the only reazon you aren't shit is becaue of resources you have in your land and you isolated geographical location. Russians are smarter than you, in same conditions they'd be more devloped than you.
>tfw no hardcore russian prisoner to write about my first world problems to
USA USA USA
(be careful:this post triggers Americans)
Keep denying it, your country truly hasn't gone anywhere.
Source on that statement.
I could say the same about any foreign ethnic group in college in the US.
Calling Chinese "dogs" is racist as hell.
Yeah because the IMF, World bank, and TE are not more trustworthy than random shills who claim a US collapse as often as they claim China's.
The IMF and World Bank predict 6.8% in 2015 and 6.5% in 2016. TE thinks it's 5-6% based upon consumption and service sector growth.
You have an insane amount of resources relative to your population. While you don't have the same level of geographical isolation, you haven't been faced with any real threat of foreign external invasion since you developed the nuclear bomb. NATO doesn't do shit like Crimea and let its members annex Russian territory like Russian has done with Ukraine. In fact, before Ukraine, Russian-NATO relations were pretty good, relatively speaking.
But Russia is still shit.
>mfw the richest country in the world lost space race to the failed commie state
Nope, I'm on my phone
But here's the whole article:
>Russian Ministry Predicts More Recession, Lower Incomes and Less Employment
New falls in the oil price mean that Russia's economy will likely shrink again in 2016, as incomes continue to fall and unemployment rises, according to a draft outlook prepared by the Economic Development Ministry.
Officials had hoped for an end to recession this year, but a near 20 percent decrease in the price of oil in early January has forced a reassessment.
The new outlook, obtained by the Vedomosti business newspaper, assumed an average oil price of $40 per barrel over 2016, down from the $50 per barrel built into the current budget plan, but higher than the current price of around $30.
The lower price will ricochet through the economy, the report said, according to Vedomosti. Instead of growing by 0.7 percent, the economy will contract by 0.8 percent, while industrial output will fall slightly and investment will decline by 5 percent from last year, it said.
A weaker ruble and higher-than-expected inflation will continue to make Russians poorer. Real incomes will fall by 4 percent, instead of the 0.7 percent previously predicted, and unemployment will rise by half a percentage point to 6.3 percent, the report said.
Russia is already mired in its longest recession since President Vladimir Putin became president in 1999. The economy contracted by an estimated 3.7 percent last year, and officials have warned of government spending cuts this year. However, a wave of patriotism unleashed by military actions in Ukraine and Syria has kept the president's approval ratings at record highs.
> tells me something I can't even understand because his grammar skills are so bad

are you proud of being american, too?
At least we can afford to feed our people, soon, just like the 1990s and throughout Russian history, you won't be able to. Pic related, your babushka will be standing in this line for hours just like the good old days.
It's Polish, in Cerbian it would be "Kosovo je Srbija", or somth. like that, anon.
BTW - Kosovo je Srbija!

NATO has already positioned themselves in Russian breakaway regions like the baltics, it's just a matter of time when the core gets attacked.
poor merican bois - they're still brainwashed by McCarthy and live in the Cold war mindset. No more commies to justify their existence. Btw the whole American self-esteem was built toward Commie threat.
It's good that you laugh at that generation, I agree with you. I think it's fun that people who listened to Voice of America religiously and gave up their country for burgers and jeans got so fucked up in 90th.
>putinboos still don't realize Russian posters are trolling everyone
>all the butthurt in this thread
Russians always seem to have the need to root for the home team, even if they know in the back of their mind that they're wrong. When I lived there it was always funny to me, the way people felt they had to defend bad decisions simply because they were made by people who spoke the same language as them. Meanwhile I've got no problem bashing Bush, Obama, and anyone else in my country for their fuck ups.
It's alright you guys, Russia doesn't have to be an infallible paradise 100% of the time. The US sure as fuck isn't, no place is.
Just admit that your president's foreign policy has backed you into a corner at the same time as world oil prices have crashed, and that Russia is too dependent on oil. It's not some international or NATO conspiracy to destroy Russia that Putin fucked up (and continues to fuck up) Ukraine.
But I actually like Russia. It's just that I think your government, like mine, can fuck right off into a hole and die.
>America is at fault for Russian politics being inept
Ukraine has much stronger ties with Russia because it was excluded from common European market. Slovakia in contrast is well integrated into it.
Russia could fuck eastern Europe (and not only eastern) over hard by denying us gas, but that would still hurt Russia much more so it's not happening any sooner than strategic nuking of Poland.
You should wake up from delusions of soviet grandeur. Putin rode the wave of rising oil prices and his failure to make your economy robust to it now has your country nosediving along with it.
If your state can be fascist enough to compensate for cancer-ridden private sector , you can rebound in time, but it will get worse before it gets better.
On unrelated note, how would you like living in North Korea?
I went to Slovenia last summer, nice country but 100% slavic/10. You're not western european sorry, stop spitting on your father
I don't care much. Since the crisis of 2008 I sustain purely on percent from family's savings held overboard. Since I technically pay checks in sfr, downfall of local economy simply mean cheaper cost of living for me. Not like it really matters, I never was a big spender t.b.h.f.a.m.
They do have a nice market, the problem is that their economy was focused on export raw materials and they craved dollars. Thy build the entire thing upon the dollar. When this economic model went down the shitter, so did the ruble, and so their purchase capability.
But they've learned form it though, and are dumping on the dollar instead, which is becoming an inflated meme currency that wil eventually burst as more and more countries turn their back on it, althogh short term their economy is taking a heavy toll for it. But in the long run, the dollar is fucked and so will be the US economy.
>in the long run the dollar is fucked
>he actually believes this even though it's the world's most stable and most used reserve currency
>he actually thinks Russia using the dollar as a reserve was something special and not just what most countries do
Anti-Americanism is meme-tier at this point.
ITT people don't understand market adaptation and US inflationary tax trough forced use of the dollar. Financial market != real market, they are decoupled for a reason--to avoid 1920's like depression.
Counter is not hard, switch to currency swaps and internal markets.
Japs have 117.00 Yen to 1 USD, plus 230%+ to GDP nobody seems to give a shit.
It's almost like you retards forget the Chinese and other countries artificially deflate their currency to produce and export.
Every once in a while i hear Russia needs more *country* then *country* needs it. This doesn't reflect at all how global markets work.
We're in a Global Market Recession, it's not just Russia. EU, Canada, Turkey, etc are suffering from its effects.
If the morons stop trading in dollars and switch to their own currencies their market would stabilize.
It's the Roaring 1920's all over again.
>Name a country that has a bright future.
>Protip: you can't.
I can :^)
look, you guys need to stock up on canned food,as much as you can get, then flour and other non perishable items, because I smell a Lenin famine coming
also condoms, vodka and some sort of gun
dollar is fine, you cant expect world economy to grow 10% all time, economic steady healthy growth is tied to trust and good politics, blame usa for fucking middle east, EU, their PIIGS and Russia
Dollar measures American respect and trust. If you get them - you'll get dollars and ur currency will raise like Poland, Estonia. If you dont' - you'll be isolated and your currency and trade market goes to hell. It's personal.
>dollar is fine
Dollar is not fine. Part time jobs have gone up, people on food stamps(modern day virtual soup kitchens) are up. You can't just print 4 trillion dollars and get into 19 trillion dollars in debt and be 'ok'. Shit will start behaving like a game of Jenga.
>tfw not a single candidate in the 2016 presidential race mentions the debt
At this point it all depends on European politics. If enough Putin-friendly politicians win power in the EU, the sanctions will end. The EU sanctions on Russia are the only ones that matter, remember that.
You know the USA's population has been increasing, right? You're meant to post these graphs as a % of population. Absolute numbers are fucking useless
US sanctions on Russia are pretty irrelevant because there's hardly enough trade between those countries. It's the EU sanctions that matter to you
>inb4 le USA controls le EU meme
People who believe this should consider suicide
I always laugh really hard every time i see this picture
can you just imagine him smirking and practising this over and over again in the mirror built into the 4-star hotel bedroom wardrobe. the book says 'power pose'. a quick wank over that photo of the Saudis and a glance at the Torygraph and it's beddy-byes for George
EU sanctions on Russia have to be reviewed and renewed every few months. Russian support for various European far-right parties makes perfect sense in light of this
Makes their accusations of almost all the opponents of Russian regime as fascists ironic. It's mainly for domestic propaganda purposes
isn't this just whatever the Russian government wants the plebs to think and react to? Isn't it just saying Russia is going to be slightly more Russian in the near future?
No. Oil prices are the most important thing, but in order to diversify its economy AWAY from reliance on oil, Russia needs foreign investment and the most valuable investment will come from the advanced economies of Europe.
My own opinion is that, in addition to trying to save Assad (i.e. Russian influence in the region), Putin is making a serious military effort in Syria to try and destabilise the region more, encouraging migration to destabilise the EU. If the major EU powers start quarrelling, Russia benefits.
I can't be entirely sure though, because I have a very low opinion of Putin, I don't think he's very clever at all. I think he mis-calculated the consequences of the Ukraine adventure and he was stupid to assume oil prices would stay high
>Putin is making a serious military effort in Syria to try and destabilise the region more
Putin said don't fuck with middle east and stop toppling governments there, because wars will drive those people into Europe, all the way back in 2006.
He got laughed out of the door.
It's not in Putin's interest to have stable Middle East
Oil prices are already low enough and Russians are going to desperately cling to their diminished sphere of influence there by whatever means necessary
Kek. Well, there are some signs that EU unity is beginning to break, in large part because of anger over the refugee situation. One of the most worrying developments is this new German-Polish split. And the Italians are (rightfully) pissed at Germany for blocking that Southstream pipeline and pressing ahead with the Northstream one (which goes to Germany)
There's a lot happening right now and things are difficult to predict. Russia will probably benefit from this, but at the same time oil is going far lower than they thought
I haven't yet decided if this emerging isolation of Germany is good for the UK... it might be...
>MoscowTimes is the NYT of Russia
<The Moscow Times is an English-language weekly newspaper published in Moscow, with a circulation of 35,000 copies. It's distributed for free at places frequented by English-speaking expatriates such as hotels, cafés, embassies, and airlines, and also available by subscription, but not available at newsstands. The newspaper is very popular among foreign citizens residing in Moscow and English-speaking Russians.
It really ain't mate.
Why can't all countries and cultures accept Liberal Democracy as the least bad option of governace and we could all engage in mutually benefitial free trade and exchange of ideas?
Why do we have to deal with this bullshit?
Not the same thing.
Those two concern themselves with different aspects of resource allocation.
Social democracy is class based redistribution, liberalism refers to equality between groups.
just for an example: my apartment and village house in 2012 was cost around 500 000 dollars together, its big mansion on the spain cost for an example. now it cost same price in rouble, but rouble drop, 3x times (and dropping still last) so now its around 150 000 dollars. please stop me from crying. oh no its too late, i m already crying
