Things were kind different back then, USA was mostly isolationist before the war and outsourcing was nonexistent. The huge industrial output of the USA has really helped mobilization and the war effort.
You also have to factor that China has offensive nuclear capabilities (despite having much less nuclear stockpiles than the US) that can be expanded should a conflict against the West come, chemical and biological warfare is also something to be considered.
