Is this the only developed country in the world that still retains some of its own, non-Americanized culture?
as you means, it is sure we celebrate chiristmas, however it is no religious events based on special intentions like america, but just an amusant party for us.
additonaly saying, on the first days of new year we visit shinto shirine to pray for the luck of new year,
and not so long after that, generally we visit budhism temples to greed our ancestors.
therefore chiristmas actually dosen't matter for our cultures desu.
>Is this the only developed country in the world that still retains some of its own, non-Americanized culture?
I never said they weren't. But you have to admit that OP's question was pretty fucking stupid. Memes aside, all countries still hold on to plenty of their own non-Americanized culture. How else do Americans get away with hanging shit on foreign culture? Otherwise you'd just be hanging shit on American culture, wouldn't you?
>You have to admit that Australia/Europe are pretty damn Americanized
Yeah sure, aside for the fact that both continents literally hate Americans. How delusional do you have to be to think any expression of Western culture is being 'Americanised'?
Thanksgiving isn't something you should import. It's an excuse to pig out loosely based on a trumped up national myth. And if there's one thing you shouldn't copy from us, it's the eating like pigs thing. It's expensive and it's unhealthy.
Derp! Have you ever been to Japan? Whole sectors of there culture has been Americanized/Westernized...They even have Ameriboos :(
i wish 4chan wasn't obsessed with them
because of their isolationist policy they're incapable of understanding the wider world and generally have juvenile simplistic opinions.
their internal political problems are also a mystery to everyone else so nobody could begin to give a shit about that either.
maybe 4chan needs to enact a ban on japan, korea and china. they're basically from another planet and aren't worth talking to. even arabs have a better grasp of the wider global picture
Arabs have more direct contact and shared history with European civilization b/c geography. Asians essentially had no contact with the West at all until the 16th century and later.
you're right, the geographical isolation and the language barrier completely shut us out from the global issues.
most Japanese don't know about foreigners even about Koreans. I was unaware of the fact until I went overseas and stayed there while.
However, because of it, we have created unique culture. I cannot say it's good or bad.
