London is about as safe as Poland or Australia if you compare crime rates. Winter in a big city does feel really comfy. We're not taking any of those "refugees" who came into Europe, so I don't feel threatened by that at all.

Small city/country people do *not* have a monopoly on cosy. It is arguably easier to be cosy in a big city than it is in a smaller place, because you are more anonymous and the other people are a backdrop.
