Britain has areas that looks third world, Southern Europe has insane unemployment and poverty and some areas that make the poor areas of the U.S. look developed. The overall poverty rate in the EU is higher, the unemployment rate is higher, the median wage is lower, however the overall quality of life is really about the same.

After living on both continents, I can attest to this.

Ok, first, the Blue Cross, Medicaid, and Section 8 exist. Second, No they don't. Most gypsies are nomadic and sleep on the street in tent or packed into singular apartments. Many gypsies are not included in the social system because they don't pay taxes and don't hold a stable job. You're also ignoring the fact that many of the social housing they live in is shitty, much like here.

Some do, but many are con artists. One thing about the homeless population in the U.S. is that it's fairly easy to get help like in most first world countries. Barely 95% of homeless people are homeless for more than a month. That said, homelessness is a big problem in cities without adequate shelters such as LA because they go there for the weather.
