What made the German Economic wonder was the stunning increase in war related goods and machinery in the world because of the hot war in Korea.

The point is, the pictures of bombed out Berlin are misleading because even without the eastern parts of Germany what remained was still a very modern, highly industrialized economy that was ready to serve world wide demand.
