Why are Europeans so obsessed with appearances? They always talk about "muh pretty villages and unique cities" and "muh fashun, lel you americans aren't dressing as vogue and chique as we are" and act like they hold any significance at all
>you americans aren't dressing as vogue and chique as we are
I bet this is what americans actually believe, but only faggots and meds think like that
This. It's some American stereotype of Europeans.
Urban environments have a huge effect on our day to day lives actually. Compare some sprawling shithole like Phoenix or Houston to a compact and easy to navigate city full of beautiful architecture like Barcelona or Edinburgh; I know which one I'd rather live in.
Appearances are important because it's easier to live in a nice looking shithole than in a shit looking shit hole.
I live in a pretty high building and can see most of the roofs of the city. It triggers me so much that the city is paying for ugly new building with flat roofs rather than building the good old red/orange roofs that make the city look so good. In 20 years the city will look like a soulless american city.
Because society is superficial and in order to profit off that, you keep up appearances.
By dressing up, you impress the people you need to impress. Some people might think you're a bit dandy or try hard, but in most cases, those people and their opinions don't matter.
Dress for the eventuality that today you will meet the most important person of your life, because you just might.
