Oh I didn't mean build the s13 for drag, it's just a little street toy for some fun on back roads. Although... I could always buy another shell and drop in a 5.3l with a stock bottom end and some head work out of a wrecked silverado and slap a massive turbo on that and just boost it til it blows... Would be cheap easy power but that'd still be quite a bit of work. May be better just buying something old that came with a factory v8 and doing it that way but I do reeaaally like driving s13's.

I've seen quite a few modern cars when I was there though.. But mostly Asian and American. Many of the European cars (especially BMWs) I saw in NY state were late 90s early 00s versions. The E46 3 series seemed extremely popular. (This one:>>53260425)

>why don't they make cars like that anymore
Japs basically went broke, their bubble popped around 1998-2000 and that meant things like big old GT cars got ditched from their line ups as they where costing more in R&D + manufacturing than they could reasonably sell them for.
Toyota went off to make Camry's, Honda just made grocery getters, Nissan went broke and got bought out by Renault, Ford kept touching Mazda's bottom like a sneaky uncle, Mitsu and Subaru sort of trundled along with the Evo and WRX- until the WRX got fatter than a yo momma joke and the Evo stopped being manufactured this year I think.
Its pretty sad from a car enthusiast point of view :(

You can buy them in shitty or excellent condition.
