I know this feel. Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine, really smart and well-off dude (he's a financial analyst), and I was talking about how I wanted to learn a new language.

He completely dissuaded me, said it was a complete and utter waste of time with little to no tangible benefits (unless you live in your language's country). You're way better off learning a programming language than an actual language.

My Canuckistani compadre's right, though. Polish is an absolute mess to work out if you've been introduce to Latin characters through any other language, and Cyrillic is quite nice. It's a shame you guys don't use Cyrillic, because it's work much more neatly with all them sounds you Poles make. Щeцин is just so much more elegant than Szczecin.
