I've seen a lot of movies around the world, that way I've learned a thing or two about russian films too. This spring they're showing all of Tarkovsky's films and i'm really excited to see them on a big screen rather than a shitty monitor

At first I took my friends with me, but they soon grew tired of some of the more "artsy" films, so now I mostly go there by myself
But it's okay, as a regular I've come to know the staff of the cinema and I always say hello to the cleaners and doormen

But really watching good films in cinema is essential. Many of my absolute favorite films I've seen in cinema and later on tv and it makes a huge difference. I can't tell you what it is, but the difference is real

Thats one of my biggest problems, i option to choose between spanish, french and russian when i visited school - i choosed spanish. Ok, some spanish speaking countries were commie states but russia is still best i could think of. I think I'll spend at least 3 years learning basic language. most people told me you cant learn it that easy and that its fucking difficult. but it sounds so nice, it always sounds like you say something important, like every word just sounds so important. Hard to describe, but i think this will be the hardest thing to achieve.

Cyka blyad is more than enough for a beginner in Russian and basic English would be quite ok too. If you get a job it makes the rest of the process much easier for you.

Damn, it sounds easy, but I'm still afraid. I started getting into IT sec with 13, now im 19 and I have a apprenticeship at this company (mainly because i had like 5 years experience) and I'll finish in 2 years.
Would be my goal to get to russia when i finished the apprenticeship. My company does stuff in russia to so maybe i could even stay at the company. It's still kind of hard to think about this, it's all so far away and I already need to prepare. And well, english isnt a big problem for me, only when I'm drunk (like at the moment)

Before working for government I was working 3 month in a IT company that developed software for traveling agencies.They started the Servers with Ubuntu 4.10 and never updated it because they feared this will crash the system. That's as close as you can get to how Russians speak in daily life: lots of slang, culturally rooted phrases and other stuff which is sure to present a challenge to a non-native.
