There's still the issue of energy (for cooling, etc.), the fact that you NEED a car, the whole water supply issue, and so on.

The desert States are pretty shitty. I lived in Arizona for a bit and visited Southern Nevada a couple of times, and...it's not sustainable at all. Not really any room for growth (due to the issues mentioned above, water being the biggest one), and even if they stay the same size they'll run out of water within our lifetimes.

Urban planning in Canada and the US is equally bad. Could never live in a car suburb like this >>53069316 , want to have a grocery store by walking distance and good public transportation so there's no need to own a car.
