Because the Spanish were right cunts
noticed the thread theme while scrolling the catalog
Snapped it when I was in Montego Bay 2009
We tried the West Indian Federation which would have unified
all Anglo-Caribbean islands BUT! the Jamaicans:
1. Wanted independence quickly and did not want to wait
2. They wanted more seats at the assembly because they were the
biggest and most powerful at the time.
They threw a hissy fit and left the federation, this then caused Barbados and
Trinidad to get antsy because they didn't want to support the smaller islands so
they left also and that was the end of that. All Islands that use XCD as currency
are what remains of the Federation.
chinafags wanted to build a super market (Dragon Mart) in Cancun with only chinesse people working on it
they started to build in 2011 but after 4 years of fucking up the enviroment we told them to GTFO and china got mad
Never allow chinessefags in to our white caribean beaches
its inevitable, you cant hold back the tide
soon they'll be flooding the tourist sites of the earth, polluting and carving their names into ancient shit, kids pooing into trash cans, peeing on the street
put the infrastructure in place now, profit later
pls don't be a proxy
Nope,Jamaica is way at the top of the archipelago so the
other islands are closer to Trinidad.
That point would easily piss every other island off
China president got really mad tho
he literally told us that he will not make bussines with us until a new presidential election, china thinks that we are the same as south americans, but in fact we are anti china domination thanks to the USA
>other islands are closer to Trinidad.
Sure, some are. But the Caymans and Bahamas are not and they are more relevant than say your country or Grenada. In terms of regional power, T&T and Jamaica are equals. T&T has the economics but not the cultural influence, and with the oil price in the shitter, even that is questionable. You can't deny Jamaica is one of the cultural powerhouses of the EARTH let alone the Caribbean.
That isn't so bad, my cousin works there and he says nothing has changed for the worse. They are transforming it into "The Point"
No we need more Chinese people here, we can learn from them.
Honestly. I'm at my grandparents for the Christmas. They're old school. No wifi. Sucks man. You had no idea how long it took to send that image. But good to see another one here man
Yeah you guys are a strong competitor to China. China is smart to keep you at arms length. The Stratfor report that came out earlier this year (or was it last year?) noted that Mexico would be one of this century's major powers.
>No we need more Chinese people here, we can learn from them.
I was in Nassau last year or the year before, that Baha Mar development site was covered in imported Chinese laborers. You guys are cucks.
The Caribbean has historically been a proxy region for major western powers to flex, from the colonial period through today, and each power would rather hang on to its interests rather than let them go, hence the extreme confusion of today's map. Today, the big stakeholders are UK, France, Netherlands, and USA. Netherlands even re-organized their own country recently to keep their interests.
I learned something interesting recently. The two most populated non-sovereign territories are Hong Kong (~7,000,000) and Puerto Rico (~3,500,000). The interests against Puerto Rican statehood remain strong enough to prevent it from happening - another large, permanent democratic voting base. Also we really really really don't want to re-do our flag, even though Puerto Rico is larger than maybe half the countries in the world.
Central America and the "Caribbean" states are just two nearby geographic regions. IIRC there is some group or entity that many of both states belong to, just a regional interest coalition. It's all the same proxy region per the above, though.
car ownership is huge in T&T
in other less wealthy countries they use shared taxis, like taxis that stop by the side of the road and pick people up
also minibuses, a whole lot of minibuses
I really should modify this to read "major powers", generally. Look up the Cuban missle crisis, and now that I've been reading these threads, I realize China is a player. (I thought they were more into Africa though...)
First off nice quads, secondly Those Chinese Workers are just doing workers don't want to or can't also did you look at their passports how do you know they aren't Bahamian citizens?
It depends on which Island, a lot of traffic in New providence but at night you can do some nice driving there is a street racing subculture
SUV's, Jeeps and Trucks are by far the most popular vehicles on the islands, don't bring a luxury car here, the roads are fucked.
There are also these things called Safari's, which are just big trucks (4x4 or F350+) that have the bed fitted with a bunch of benches, cost a dollar to ride generally.
Taxi's are the biggest scam on the island.
Taxi's cost way to much money, I only take them when
I got to a party late at night and get to drunk so I call for
a pick up.
The Taiwanese train the farmers here in agricultural techniques
and bring in new fruits and stuff. They are pretty neat some of my
friends are studying in Taiwan now.
From what I read, Safari's only became a thing after some fuck ass hurricane destroyed the island in 2005, as a way of getting working men across island who's transportation was either inadequate or blown away. If St Croix wasn't affected as heavily (or at all) as St Thomas was then there was no need for Safaris.
Or maybe they were banned on St Croix i dunno.
We have vans. They usually have tint and AC. The drivers love to stop in the middle of the road to let people off and cut in front of you when they're trying to get back in traffic.
>are just doing workers don't want to
no one in bahamas wants to do construction? I understand that those Chinese workers probably have a hell of a lot more experience, since they're probably being whisked around the world working on projects just like that. But, doing work Bahamians don't want to do? Nigga please. Its construction, not fruit picking. And they were chinese people. I know the difference between chinese and blacks, I live in New Jersey for chrissakes.
what kind of influence does Trinidad hold over any other country in the region, let alone Tobago?
Thanks. Always made me wonder why you accepted Polynesian Hawaii as a state, but not them and others.
Thanks, heard of this and Central American Federation.
Lol "Indies", Western colonists and their name creativity. Surprised "Indonesia" still didn't renamed itself, like Vietnam did.
>The drivers love to stop in the middle of the road to let people off
I see this is a universal truth across the Caribbean
>Most processed food products are imported Trinidad
>They have the biggest carnival
>Host the International soca monarch championships
>Their companies own our super markets (Massy stores etc.)
Most of our youth stabs eachother daily in schools and fails horribly. The few 3000 that makes it into the college try to run from the country and live in more wealthy countries like the USA or somewhere in Europe.
That is every Caribbean island m8, except the
stabbing part you are on your with with that.
I often wonder if it's because of our system
if you are not one of the top 50 in the country your
dreams end there.
Yes so we need the chinese to speed up infrastructure because the humans in this country are fucked in the long run, it it werent for intelligent blacks like us this place would be just like fucking Haiti.
Like i said. You'retalking to someone living in svg and I'm sure you know we have other stuff to worry about but my 2 cents on the subject is that it's necessary. No use fussing now
>>They have the biggest carnival
>>Host the International soca monarch championships
these don't mean anything outside of the windwards
>>Their companies own our super markets (Massy stores etc.)
>>Most processed food products are imported Trinidad
these are small fries; but I did some of my own research and have learned just how much Trinidad BTFO Jamaica economically. But, I'd like to see some updated data now that the oil price is at rock bottom. Despite the apparent economic might of T&T in the region, it just seems too far away geographically from the others to be capital.
Still, is the consensus here in /carib/ that T&T should be the capital of a hypothetical federation of english-speaking islands? Or only for those posters on islands closest to it? Bahamas posters? What do you think?
>except the stabbing part
Ive sailed most of the windwards on my pops small sailboat and the most dangerous place we went, at least the one with the biggest reputation for danger to tourists/yachties, was St. Vincent & the Grenadines. It's advised to lock your cabin door and lock down everything on deck because people from your country board yachts in the middle of the night to steal shit and then shoot/kill anyone who catches them.
Doesn't stop people going there obviously, but I wouldn't be talking shit to Bahamas about violence.
Pretty cool site.
You'd put Nassau ahead of Kingston in the capital debate? wew
>>underestimating the power of carnival and local shitty music genre
compare it to reggae/dancehall?
No one here listens to Soca unless they look like pic related.
>it just seems too far away geographically from the others to be capital
Well Technically you are just swapping one extreme for the other
>extreme south for extreme north
Aww,I feel bad now
Do you find your climate hot or normal?
>Do people sweat all the time
Yeah, it's fucking 30C all year long
>can whites stay outside all the day?
You adapt, my arms and face are tanned really nice and don't sun burn, however the rest of my body is porcelain white, if I took my shirt off outside I'd be in a world of pain.
It's pretty cool right now it's usually between 27-32C
>can whites stay outside all the day
No, they get very red very fast
The transformation has only just begun
>Cuba, DR, PR
>SVG, SKN, T&T, A&B, T&C, BVI, Cayman Is., Anguilla, Dominica, Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas, Montserrat, Grenada, St. Lucia
>Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, Saint Barthélemy
>Sint Maarten, Saba, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Eustatius
think about it
See my posts >>52768967 >>52769146 for a serious answer to this. I should admit that I have never been to the region so I don't have the local perspective.
To address your thing more specifically, most of us western cucks-in general terms, I mean, basically more-or-less decided that colonialism was bad (and the wars sped this along), so several of our (read: especially UK's, but also others) colonies were transitioned to become independent states. A small group of non-sovereign territories remain, many of which are concentrated in the Caribbean because like I wrote, it's just always been a proxy region for global power to compete, and the controlling states have an attachment to their clay there. Germany doesn't seem to have had much historical involvement in the region, however.
Regardless of whether you take the UN seriously, they have an interesting group of non-self governing territories that they're interested in "checking on" regularly, because the UN shares the general attitude that colonialism is evil, and actively tries to get the number of colonies down to zero. A few states - the UK, USA, and maybe France and NZ give annual reports to the UN on the general welfare of these territories. Places like Gibraltar and Tokelau (both outside the Caribbean) have been actively pushed from outside to vote for independence, but the thing is with small communities, they don't go for it as much, which frustrates anti-colony-cucks.
Well, desu I think they got a good deal. Most of them gained more sovereignty while their income is not really stable, as it's mostly tourism, they still depend on the mainland in some ways. Been in the news couple of times that Sint Maarten and Curacao needed money.
They are also Dutch citizens which also makes them European, I think could come in quite handy, like for example the situations Vincy sketched.
Sint Maarten is a real treat as there is a lot of drugs, crime and casino's apparently. Politics there almost equal mafia.
You're still in the Commonwealth and Liz is still you're queen, right?
What do you gain from this?
we are eligible for certain merit based scholarships but that's it
education wise. You can't enter directly, you have to be nominated
by the Ministry of Education
>They ALWAYS! pic some Business or Law fag
Time to post some pics I guess
>Base of the volcano
God fucking gas-the-kikes damn it.
I ran out of fucking propane, I was going to cook some bomb ass steaks, can't dry my clothes, can't take a hot shower and I can't cook my goddamn steak. The goddamn fucking Jews did this.
>can't dry my clothes, can't take a hot shower
Do you need propane to do those
poastan my old village before the resort fucked it all up
End result tourist trap
Well that sucks, though I never felt the need
to get a water heater.
I have 17 tanks of LPG in the back because I'm too lazy to swap one
out every month
will post a pic some time
Not gonna lie, looks pretty noice.
Anyways I don't have enough room for 17 tanks, got one 40gl tank attached to the back of the house, by design of the landlord. Now it's up to this woogie boogie west Indian motherfucker to have this refilled tomorrow.
how much did they pay you for your property where they made tourist traps
>40gl tank attached to the back
I use the smaller ones, they are less of a bitch to replace when
empty since I'd have to go to the distributor instead of the retail
The person is a friend of mine from highschool
The large thing in the middle is a volcanic plug, it happens
when the lava cools in the vent. This sometimes causes a
build up of pressure. The magma and gases find a place to escape
and seep out the sides sometimes which causes thing on the far right.
Fun fact our volcano was actually way taller but there was a plug and
the pressure built up so much that the top exploded killing most of
the caribs on the north side of the island quite quickly.
We left the village a couple years before they started buying up the place
though the house I live in now is almost identical to the one on the
extreme right >>52790049
>is she qt
yes, but I'm not posting her on 4chan
Yes actual people
>we have national health insurance
So do we :^)
American,Canadian, I've seen more numbers of Chinese (although I can't tell if they are immigrants and tourists,I have yellow fever so I'd be fine with that) and surprisingly the French (they mostly visit San Salvador).
Merge with us and Along with us Fusing back with Turks and Caicos we'll be the Ultimate Caribbean Nation

Further down the Grenadines Union island an Canouan you
get the younger crowd of 18-30 year olds.
>Have you fucked a tourist ?
Yes,she was Irish and the best lay I ever had
But the Bahamas is essentially 51st state 2,0
Holy shit, I just found some great banter against Domis
>On November 9, 1821 the Spanish colony of Santo Domingo was toppled by a group led by Spanish General José Núñez de Cáceres.
>Forces which opposed unification with Haiti formally declared independence from Spain on November 30, 1821.
>The new nation was known as República del Haití Español (Republic of Spanish Haiti).
Macedonia, please. This is a cultured thread, please take your shoes off at the door and do not share un-kulturny conversations with us like "did u fuk tourist". Bring something better to the table, please.
I'm sorry, I knew i'd get shit for asking but I'm on a tablet and it only shows two letter abbreviations for flags. I looked it up. Yes, I was aware that we briefly invaded Grenada...over some medical school students or such like? Anyway I heard about watching "Die Hard Two".
>Business or Law fag
Fuck 'em. I feel your pain.
I assume they need the Law and Biz fags more
>warn the farmers about genetic diversification and screening
>they shrug it off as if to say "what do you know"
>moko disease fucks them over hard
>most of the crop is fucked up
>they piss and moan to the government
Every Vincentian scientist I spoke to had a similar story,so we
It's probably because business or law are useless subjects, not enough jobs so they overflow to politics and government functions for which you need no education at all.
Of course they favour biz and law.
Let's write a letter to your prime minister about joining the Kingdom of the Netherlands. I'll start:
Organisation for promoting the integration of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines into the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves
Internet, 29 December 2015
Subject: Integration of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines into the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Dear mister Ralph Gonsalves,
We just need a body and end now.
Need to fill up the body with a few pro's for Saint Vincent, and a few pro's for The Netherlands.
We sailed out for clay just to have a mountain somewhere.
I'll ask him next time I see him,
I wonder how that would go over. People might get
super nationalistic even though there is no downside.
Dem mountain feels
Yep,you can't really see it but that's looking down
into our main agricultural area.
You can see the other areas at the ending of this vid
Don't be fooled, this place is still shit
>Don't be fooled, this place is still shit
Merge with us let us be shit together Anon
That pic kek
Sounds fun but the Netherlands is cooler, we get a new
king and queen.
Personally I just want to hit up the brothels, unless the girls
don't do black guys, then I'd just feel bad.
/carib/ wouldn't be the same without you senpai
No rare flags here my friend
>Snow blow driveway yesterday after heavy snowfall
>Moment im finished it begins to snow again
>Snows for full day
>Have to go out again.
Why was I condemned to this frozen shit hole.
Why can't I live in the warm peaceful Caribbean.
In the news
>opposition party causing a slight shitstorm
>man got shot but didn't die
>started chocolate production, looks fancy as fuck
>tfw all the Costa Rican posters who used to come here ended up seeing each other at random places and occasions
Creepy as fuck desu familia, small country and shit. You probably are going to meet one day.
>Lots of crazy stuff went down over there
Ah to be young again
>We could have definitely hang out
At some point probably,This also means you are in
Year 1 SVGCC. It looks completely different now, though the tiny Bio lecturer is still there.
About as fun as you can expect from jouvert on St.Croix, which isn't saying much
Needs more paint, powder, flame throwers and less clothes
Nice crowd tho
Pic related, fun fact I am in this picture
>Danish Butter cookies
The best gift the Dutch gave to man kind
Seems like our Jouverts are different
>Jouvert officially starts at 12am but parties start at 10ish
>Each band has a specific paint color
>you are covered in paint within 5 min
>party and drink till 10am
>people have cool costumes sometimes
Yep. Ours is pretty tame. Starts in the morning around sunrise. Back in the day it used to be much bigger but its really short now that the refinery shut down. I think we only had four bands this year.
>refinery shut down
A sugar refinery? You must be the beacon of light that shines for
all drunkards and scantly clad women of Jouvert and carnival you must save it!
Never had Gouda
>cancer a swear word
Who ever made them, bless their hearts
Hovensa oil refinery. They were the largest private employer on the island.

How are you guys even connected to the internet???
Fiber Optic cables and such
Went to town, so many qts it caught me off guard
kurwa, it looks like fucking paradise
Lets say I work remotely. Where would be the best place to live on Caribbean?
I am looking for place with high % of christian and low criminality and white society
is it possible?
No, I'm that guy from Siparia.
My laptop's hinge was busted but my hard drive's theoretically fine, however, I need a tiny screwdriver and a SATA-to-USB to get the stuff out.
Perhaps. I bought a i7 GTX965M online to replace it. Aside from the CPU's fan making drone noises every 8 weeks/ when I knock it too hard, it works fine. I quick restart usually fixes it.
>Never allow chinessefags in to our white caribean beaches
And never allow chinesefags enter in any countries.
There are too many chinesefags here and they are rude as fuck.
They have no least manner as human beings.
Is it sticking or just reving up too high?
It's generally in your best interest to have your own tools.
Pls come back japan
We have an entire area in our city called Little Tokyo
we are your biggest fans.
Neither, I could play Fallout 4 for hours with fan speed manually set to very high and it wouldn't make any odd noises. But then I quit the game and put the laptop down too hard and "bzzzzzZZZZZ". It's like the sound a household fan makes when the hubcap thing on it is loose.
Tomorrow I will start looking for a new apartment, also, I will buy a new bed.
my chinese teacher is nice desu
he's homeless now
Also, god, i'm climbing up walls with how horny I am but it's not a physical horny, i'm emotionally horny, I emotionally crave dick
I know but, that does not explain the bed
>emotionally crave dick
Don't know if gay or female
Tomorrow I get to buy my beer and stuff
