We tried the West Indian Federation which would have unified

T&T has the economics but not the cultural influence, and with the oil price in the shitter, even that is questionable. The Caribbean has historically been a proxy region for major western powers to flex, from the colonial period through today, and each power would rather hang on to its interests rather than let them go, hence the extreme confusion of today's map. Today, the big stakeholders are UK, France, Netherlands, and USA. Netherlands even re-organized their own country recently to keep their interests.

I learned something interesting recently. The two most populated non-sovereign territories are Hong Kong (~7,000,000) and Puerto Rico (~3,500,000). The interests against Puerto Rican statehood remain strong enough to prevent it from happening - another large, permanent democratic voting base. Also we really really really don't want to re-do our flag, even though Puerto Rico is larger than maybe half the countries in the world.

Central America and the "Caribbean" states are just two nearby geographic regions. IIRC there is some group or entity that many of both states belong to, just a regional interest coalition. It's all the same proxy region per the above, though.

How do people get around in your countries? Is it worth it to own a car on an island? Do a lot of people own boats?

But, I'd like to see some updated data now that the oil price is at rock bottom. Despite the apparent economic might of T&T in the region, it just seems too far away geographically from the others to be capital.

To address your thing more specifically, most of us western cucks-in general terms, I mean, basically more-or-less decided that colonialism was bad (and the wars sped this along), so several of our (read: especially UK's, but also others) colonies were transitioned to become independent states. A small group of non-sovereign territories remain, many of which are concentrated in the Caribbean because like I wrote, it's just always been a proxy region for global power to compete, and the controlling states have an attachment to their clay there. Germany doesn't seem to have had much historical involvement in the region, however.

Regardless of whether you take the UN seriously, they have an interesting group of non-self governing territories that they're interested in "checking on" regularly, because the UN shares the general attitude that colonialism is evil, and actively tries to get the number of colonies down to zero. A few states - the UK, USA, and maybe France and NZ give annual reports to the UN on the general welfare of these territories. Places like Gibraltar and Tokelau (both outside the Caribbean) have been actively pushed from outside to vote for independence, but the thing is with small communities, they don't go for it as much, which frustrates anti-colony-cucks.

Well, desu I think they got a good deal. Most of them gained more sovereignty while their income is not really stable, as it's mostly tourism, they still depend on the mainland in some ways. Been in the news couple of times that Sint Maarten and Curacao needed money.

The large thing in the middle is a volcanic plug, it happens
when the lava cools in the vent. This sometimes causes a
build up of pressure. The magma and gases find a place to escape
and seep out the sides sometimes which causes thing on the far right.

Fun fact our volcano was actually way taller but there was a plug and
the pressure built up so much that the top exploded killing most of
the caribs on the north side of the island quite quickly.
