The problem with mass immigration is that it needs to be followed with integration, which is where we fail spectacularly. Most of the immigrants from Islamic countries segregate themselves from Swedish society in enclaves, where their old cultures and ways are kept alive, and the distinction between "them" and "us" is further reaffirmed.

What you need to understand is that Swedish culture (and Scandinavian to a point) is all based around the concept of Lagom, whether they're aware of it, or not.

We are one of the few societies able to pull of a successful socio-democratic state because of this inbreed concept into the collective mind of our people. As a culture, we are lagom collectivism as well as individualistic. It means that as individuals, we are supposed to take up as much personal space as we need, but no more. This goes for emotional and mental space, not just physical. However, the collectivism part in this mentality is that you can'y under any circumstances intrude on another persons personal space, every individual must check himself carefully so as to not appear intrusive or hostile in any way, whether attacking a persons religion, politics or whatever. Don't get angry, don't brag, don't whatever if it means intruding on another persons space. You have your space, but you can have no more, and no one can have more than what is lagom.

This careful balancing acts are completely lost on group oriented cultures. Since they are raised to act in a manner where the appropriate forms of actions and behavior is governed by external factors setting the rules- either the head of the family, or religious figurehead, or whatever. Point is, the act far more aggressive because they don't check themselves, they expect the leaders of their communities to give directions of what to do, and not to do.

So the subtle shifting of constantly checking yourself to what is appropriately lagom is alien to them.

Point is, in the past, this surrender of ambition and willingness to dominate someone else, to the lagom ideology that "puts people in their place" paid of. A swede might not always get what he desired, but he was almost assured he had what was needed, and then probably some more.

We had sterilization programs, Uppsala universities racial studies were a large inspiration for the nazi ideology, and we did nasty things to people we conquered. Swedes will be kind, compassionate and calm, because that's what we are taught to do and be since birth. It's ingrained into our psyche to deeply it won't budge. This is what ensures that we can continue as a Lagom society, and we can act lagom, even when we as individuals are attacked.

However, when it's our collective Swedishness that's under attack, swedes will act with cold precision.

Actually, some people would argue it goes back to the viking age (ca: 700-1100). The etymology would be vikings drinking from a single horn and passing it around, thus having to make sure it went "laget om" (team around/all around). So you learned to control yourself so everyone got their fair share.

But honestly, from a personal perspective I can say that most cold climate people have a similar code of conduct. Ours is simply more formal. My thesis is that it has something to do with cold temperatures and the preservation of energy, and the need thereof for maintaining good relations with other people so as to facilitate the needed teamwork, and if nothing else, body temperatures of others to combat the cold.

A peculiar thing is that this doesn't extend to other white people. This becomes acutely visible with Swedes. For example, I have met Swedes from whom I almost feel this repressed feeling of disgust towards me and I'm pretty decent looking/have showered, etc. and I was thinking why was that. The sociology concept of othering could be coming into play in this as another strategy to amplify the Swede's saintliness.

Its kind of fucking crazy. As being a semi immigrant (Greek father, back in the 70s they were looked down on in the same way people look down on middle easterners today), I am all for taking in people in the country but there has to be some limit.

Sweden takes in more than any other European country, and both our people and politicians ignore it. Our "cut the taxes" party that have been in government the last 8 years now come out and say they need to increase taxes mainly because our immigration is costing more money than their budget supported. This is the party that had its main driving politics to cut taxes. It is their PRIMARY POLITICAL DRIVING POINT. And now before the election they come out and say that there are budget deficiencies in immigration politics and ARE SUGGESTING TO RAISE TAXES TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

They are essentially willing to abandon their main political point because they are either too afraid to go against the vox populi of immigration politics, or are too far down the rabbit hole and can't back up on it. Eitherway its extremely fucked up, like if the libertarian party of America would up and suggest to increase taxes.
