welcome back
Why nobody ever includes "How to Render" in OP's of those threads? I don't need it because I have 300MB scan saved, but it's IMHO equally as valuable book as "How to Draw".
>>2999582
very dope AND awesome thread
>>2999803
share pls
Still waiting for this one ;_;
>>2999852
Bump for this and this
>>2999857
Also if anyone has this series of books (super nude pose books) I'd really appreciate it
Anyone got this on pdf?
I need some more anime artbooks, you guys have any
Does anyone have bridgman's heads hands and faces book? I need it plz
>>2999860
never ever
>>2999839
Here you go:
Scott Robertson - "How to Render"
https://mega.nz/#!RZkCRDya!C6G5ZxxcRTgTzZHJ-HvjN58taj1UEwp5GLgmZQxf4uo
Gregg Kreutz - "Problem Solving for Oil Painters: Recognizing What's Gone Wrong and How to Make it Right"
https://mega.nz/#!wE8XVCJZ!upkUBIwkZ1GIK-FvnNRFBAGLTYI9X-hdsvC7OPAR63I
David Hornung - "Color, 2nd edition: A Workshop for Artists and Designers"
https://mega.nz/#!9Z1B0CRI!e_Gfdd9WSUT7aqF7wObp7O41j6zclQ2L1qP2J9eVrns
Bert Dodson - Keys to Drawing with Imagination
https://mega.nz/#!ZMVSjTgb!MDZ7qksJHqqd5A-KVjmeksoGdy8r3KaueowDXlJNT80
I recommend all those books, I think Hornung is much better than Gurney to learn about color.
Also requesting Maughan's "The Artist's Complete Guide to Drawing the Head". I found it, but only in epub strange version.
>>3000383
thanks you anon
anyone have the moebius book?
>>2999582
>"The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards
Can anybody recommend this for an absolute beginner about to become 20? I tried Loomis but I didn't really feel like I was getting it because I am an ABSOLUTE beginner when it comes to drawing.
>>3000507
I personally recommend "Keys to Drawing" by Dodson over it, but Edwards is cool too, exercises are solid, at the end it becomes a bit unnecessary, but overall it's ok.
Any artist sketchbooks you guys wanna share? I think I've only got Yoshinari's, KJG's, and Katsuta Terada's.
>>3000507
Loomis and Edwards teach two different things.
Loomis explains things like construction or perspective.
Edwards is more like
> perspectwhat lmao just draw what you see with your leftbrain-ninjutsu eyes
If you can ignore her rants, quotes and anecdotes about her marvelous students, you can go through the main exercises in her book in one week.
They complement each other well, because Edwards will teach you the basis of drawing from observation, something Loomis added at the end of Fun with a Pencil in one fucking page only
> Guys, I almost forgot the most important things, nature is the best instructor, Kek bless
>>3000383
>David Hornung - "Color, 2nd edition: A Workshop for Artists and Designers"
Oh fuck you, takes me back to school.
>>3000507
Her book is popular largely because it can be "taught" by people with no credentials, making it the go-to book for public elementary substitute teachers across the country. You may see some benefit from it, but it won't take you far, especially if your aspiration lie on the more commercial side. It's a few good exercises surrounded by tons of fluff. Skim it if you must.
>>2999582
anon bro with jp animation sfx book. any news?
>>3000507
Sure. I always suggest the workbook over the regular book as it offers more stuff to practice. I actually do some of the exercises every year or when I can't think of what to draw to keep some of the things I learned from those exercises fresh in my mind. You can mostly ignore the psuedo "brain hemisphere science" stuff honestly
>>3000858
god please I have already tested out and learned a lot just from the couple images that were posted from that book
>>3000918
i'm here every 2-3 days checking if its been posted since 2 threads back. probably gonna buy it but i want to grind out the book while im still in summer because i'm gonna switch to only 3d modeling come school semester

So what book is the Loomis of Japanese artists?
>>3002037
Loomis.
Loomis' books are translated there.
>>3002037
>>3002173
Ironically, the Japanese language editions of Loomis are the only official Loomis books to have remained continuously in print, and are mentioned in the course material of many animation schools there.
English Loomis books came back in style because some people erroneously thought that they had fallen into public domain (they have not.)
>>3002037
Loomis and I guess Jack Hamm
>>3001311
soon in the trigger online shop
Scanned this even though no one wanted me to. I love Yoshitoshi ABe's work. Couldn't find any scans of this on the net, but if they are any, then I'm retarded. Enjoy

I'll probably just switch to Dodson now, though I feel like Edwards helped me understand that I need to *see* instead of drawing what I think, I feel a little different now. Thanks for the advice
What's the best one out of these?
Looking for a book of a comic book artist who worked on Judge Dredd. His inkwork was really fucking good and I forgot his name.

>>3007771
Don't sweat it in the early days, but there will eventually come a point where you need to look at something real.
Consider art classes in your area. Not now, but eventually. Plus you'll get some actual constructive criticism too, and make contacts, all good shit. And here you can rotate the bodies around, which will do in a pinch (don't rely on this):
www.posemaniacs.com/
But the best option? Leave the house and draw people outside.

Another thing which I don't think I emphasized enough. You're still beginner as fuck (we all were), so right now focus all your mental bandwidth on maintaining the habit and just learning to love what you're doing.
There will come a point where the idea of going out and doing quick little sketches of people will actually fill you with excitement. Trust.
>>3007849
this is great! thank you anon

As much as I like sushio, his artbook seems lacking in content imo. wish it had more.

>>3008298
Dude those tutorials are like 8 bucks.
That's like pocket change. stop being so cheap You learn some really great stuff in some of them, i think they are worth it.
>>3009933
The issue I have with buying tutorials is you never know the actual quality of the instruction until you buy it. If it's garbage you lost "pocket change" that is capable of buying like 36 fucking extra large eggs on something totally worthless. That's a lot of god damn food.
That's why I almost never buy tutorials until I pirate them first and determine if they have value. THEN I give them money for doing it right when so many artists do it wrong.
>>3008298
Buy them, give the artist a reason to make more. I have only EVER recorded Schoolism tutorials to go back to them without having to resubscribe but I leave it on for three months to support the artists who don't keep their knowledge a secret to help us out.
>>3009973

I did subscribe to his patreon, but I find it unreasonable to pay for his stuff monthly and also have to buy the stuff he released in the past.
And yes, 8 bucks isn't so much, but if I want all the tutorials he released so far, I'd have to pay a total of 279$.
I can't justify spending ~280$ on a handful of tutorials by a single artist.

Anyone have Hetappi Manga Kenkyūjo and/or Hetappi Manga Kenkyūjo R?
>Hetappi Manga Kenkyūjo (Japanese: 鳥山明のヘタッピマンガ研究所?, lit. "Akira Toriyama's Lame Manga Laboratories") is a Japanese manga series by Akira Toriyama and Akira Sakuma. It is a collection of lessons on how to create manga published between October 1982 to March 1984 in Fresh Jump, and collected into a single tankōbon released in May 1985. A sequel called Hetappi Manga Kenkyūjo R (ヘタッピマンガ研究所R) was written and illustrated by Yusuke Murata from 2008 to 2010 in Weekly Shōnen Jump.

I actually saved the entire thing when an anon uploaded it several years ago, but then I deleted five or so pages from it because I'm a complete fucking idiot, thus it's incomplete. >>3004108
more info,
i'd only scanned the lineart pages; the front pages are keyscenes(?) in crayon-ish drawing style so i won't scan it
currently 1/4 through the editing (resizing and cropping) the scanned pages
hopefully will up it by this month
>>3012776
That's great, Anon. Thank you.
>>3013536
*full archive of the pngs, I stayed up until 3am in scantailor for this.
>>3013536
Thank you bro.
Is there a book for the Reilly method?
>>3013536
You are the hero friend.
Thank you so much for this.
I really appreciate your hard work at scanning this.
>>3010575
scan them all please
>>3013536
Beggars can't be choosers and all, but could someone upload this to mediafire, or make a torrent or make the file smaller or something? It's too big for me to download from that website.
I really want this.
>>3013784
Just install megadownloader if you get throttled.
>>3013784
You can select which files you need to download instead of the entire folder, the pdf is 800gb by itself.
To be honest whenever I download anything big like cgpeer torrents I drive to a school or coffee joint that has fast internet.
>>3013536
Thanks anon. You're the best.
>>3013536
cool, I'll give you something back later next month.
>>3013536
This book is absolutely invaluable. Thanks lad
>>3013536
Thank you very much for the upload!
>>3013536
A winner is you
>>3013536
Thanks soooo much.
Could somebody upload "basic Perspective for Comics and Illustrations"?
>>3013536
thank you man, bless you

Anyone have any of Range Murata's works?
>>3014903
I don't really get the appeal of Range Murata; beyond having skill, and being consistent, his faces are kind of weird and same-y and and almost have a clay-like quality.
He's good at what he does, but never really pushes it in terms of colour or movement; kind of boring.
Then again, I like his sketches a lot more than his rendered stuff.
On another note, does anyone have SF25 Art of Streetfighter? I could only find SF20.
>>3013536
what a god, thanks for actually delivering anon
huge fan of Akihiko Yoshida's works, but other than Tactics Ogre curious if anyone had other books with this FF-esque jrpg style?
For eg., Art of Eorzea
Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive
Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward Art Book
Pic related, art by (clockwise from top-left) Kazuya Takahashi, Akihiko Yoshida, Kyoung Hwan Kim, Tsubasa Masao, Rokuma Saito, and Hideo Minaba

Thank you!

Does anyone have series "You Can Draw!" by Lon Haverly?
That faggot knows how to draw a portrait in 7 minutes, and by my noobish standards it's very impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HQbnk5pdJk
I would like to learn how to do that. Maybe I could earn some spare money that way.
Any references on 80's manga style?
>>3014923
DESU I don't care about his faces, they are very samey. But the zeerust style of his clothing designs is really cool IMO.
Not the anon you were responding too.

>>3012776
This was already scanned by the way. I got it off that other secret artbook site.
>>3016144
Don't worry about it, I just thought you forgot.
Thanks though. That's more than I thought I deleted, based on the file names. At least now I can include this picture to remind myself both of how dumb I am and what pages are missing.
Thanks again, anon.
Anyone know a book that has some good tips on composition? It seems that's what I'm struggling most with at the moment.
>>3016666
probably photography based books will have the most good basic info on composition, film too.
you could also try reading analysis of specific paintings and gleaning the general rules from the specific critique if you want more painting based rules. although i'm sure there must be general books too.
>>3016666
Framed Ink (1933492953) is a book about how to do composition in visual storytelling.

Any news?
Thanks for all the links.

Do the Japs have any sick art books on fundamentals or are they all just Loomis-ing it up like us?
Mangos and animus are quite culturally big so I'm wondering if that effects the resources they have over there.

>>3020286
chill bro, I simply assumed he wanted a digital copy for himself when I said scan, not scan and share.
Idk about you, but I like to have scans of things even if I already own a physical copy for easier referencing, studying, etc.
>>3017614
I owe you my life, anon
I was browsing cgpeers and noticed a discussion on a recent torrent that drawing book and video uploads have been getting deleted, does anyone here know more about that?
Anyone know if CGPeers has Framed Perspective and/or the Eisner Books (other than "comics and sequential art")?
I really want those for my "collection".
>>3020286
It's about giving back to the community. That's basically why the whole book thread even works. People get 100s of books and resources from here so when they get something that hasn't been shared before some of them decide to give back.

I have it, but it's not really too great. My edition (Dover publications reprint) rehashed the head plates from his other books like the human machine, constructive anatomy, and life drawing.

I got zbukvic's, and a couple others (flowers and landscapes)
