I don't wanna be a dick, but I'm only saying this because it looks like you're going for a deliberate style, minimalist with pastel colours. Which there's nothing wrong with that, but at your stage you need to be working hard at gaining technical skill. Even if you don't want to draw, you should be learning illustrator or photoshop.

A lot of beginners make the mistake of trying to develop a style right out of the gate, and it just leads to stagnation.

And there's certainly no point in promoting your work at this early stage, there's no value in a blurry picture of clouds like that, the only people who are going to be commenting and favoriting stuff like that are other beginners who want you to like their stuff back.

I've been playing with various mediums and impasto gel as opposed to only thick ass oil paint. Makes the luminosity jump through the roof, so I'm digging it. I have a few more of these monitors, So I'm going to gesso them down and thinly paint them afterwords feeding them some talking-heads style CBC footage. Because Peter Mansbridge demands. Backlit oil paintings sound kind of weird.

The painting as a object of entertainment in 2016 is absurd. One does not idly stare at paintings when waiting, or seek them out for enjoyment. Instead a myriad of screens provide entertainment content fighting for each breath, the painting just hangs on the wall. On my TV Peter Mansbridge fights with Brock Lesner and Master Chief for time, the painting just hangs on a wall. The TV can hold an ADD like attention span, the painting requires you to engage with it.

A painting is a static object in a dynamic world, painting is outdated. A fucking painting is no more then home decor with a message (sometimes).

Dynamic screens surround us, and even produce more chromatic light then our surroundings. Why would we want to look away? Trees are all the same, a brown trunk with some green, boring, what's new on /ic/, what's on the next channel?

A painting disguised in a TV or Phone, Laptop is a absurd device. It takes an interactive object and makes the communication purely one way. An object where images usually dance around, back and forth in a mess of transience now is home to a painting that will not change. But you still give it the gazless stare.

As far as the image is, it's a crease pattern of a paper crane, filled in with the colours of the test pattern you would see late at night on smaller stations. Hard edge Right
