I still can't wrap my head around these michael bay movies, transformer designs, what d'ya guys think? I'm still fascinated at these designs.

I've always been more of a Zoids fan myself. The bayformers are too organic looking, and there are so many small parts, I feel like they would be shedding metal like dog hair.
Never really liked Bayformers. Too sleek and busy-looking for my taste. I like blocky designs.

Zoids are awesome. I really love the new HMM models even if they take a while to build. I really want to try modding one sometime.
In regards to OP I'm not really a fan of them they feel too round.

I recently found that Kotobukiya makes more detailed models than bandai. Their armored core models come out nicely.
Im a little sad that I gave up models for drawing. Every Saturday morning I stare at my shelf of unbuilt model boxes, and I consider building them, but I'm too lazy so I draw instead.

I love the Kotobukiya models just that building time though. I know what you mean. I actually have a firefox HMM model waiting for me to build it but I just don't take the time for it. I hope the come out with a few more models this year.

I could never figure out what the fuck was going on during action scenes.
Even during calmer scenes it was still an absolute mess.

I just wasted an hour looking at models. I found building models helps me a lot with drawing mechs since I remember where hinges go and where panels separate.
It would be educational if I built one tomorrow, but I know I'll just look at the boxes again in the morning...
I'm not as offended by the designs as some people are, I think bumblebee and optimus read very well, but some of the other side robots are just indiscernible masses of jagged metal so much so that I got physically angry while watching the fight scenes.
That said I think the idea of sci fi robots being infinitely complex kind of cool and for the most part it was handled well. Honestly I'd prefer it over the blocky unrealistic ones from the old cartoons.
When's the Beast Wars movie coming out?
