Post your Skypes so we can meet new peeps and do hangouts, etc. :)
why? so you can shitpost instead of draw?
I was in one of those for a day I think
there was a pony guy who wouldn't stop saying how depressed he was and how he didn't like taking his meds
there was another guy who hated women and treated me badly because I'm a girl, of course
there was another who was an utter utter beginner who didn't listen to any kind of advice
and then there was the furry who wouldn't stop talking about doxy
and there was a guy who was a mexican or something that didn't even know how to speak english
Nobody really does hangouts etc. To be honest it's just funposting 95% of the time and 5% art. Most people don't even draw (if at all ever) and just want to talk; which there is nothing wrong with that. You'll meet the faggot beginners who don't want to listen to solid advice from the upperclassmen. The side-dish queers who talk about their sex life and how much of a pimp they are. The wannabe famous chatterboxes who brag about their notes and how famous they'll be. The picture spammers who spam uninteresting photos and or memes. And oh God the memes--you'll die from the memes it'll give your head a thrombo. The list goes on and on and in short you'll just get off-topic chats no matter how serious the group is.
However you sound bitter. It's lonely at the top you know.
revealing your sex on 4chan
problemesintestinaux is my skype, its worth a try once in a while.
talk drawing or just shoot the shit or whatever you want
Just passing by to second this, this anon described these groups pretty well.
t's always the same closed group of friends, if you aren't a part of it(why would you want to be a part of this shit anyway), they will also ignore you HARD.
>they ignore you because maybe you're a twat?
Nah, I only asked for advices and guess what? They got flushed down middle the memes on every damn group and "omg I fucked so much pussy yesterday", "I'm so depressed"
OH, POOR BABY! FUCK YOU, I'M HERE TO DRAW, NOT TO LISTEN ABOUT YOUR FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS
EVERY. DAMN. GROUP.
So you can shove this shit up your ass, if you wanna improve, practice by yourself and ask for advice on the drawthread.
Remember: If you're not a part of the closed weeb group, you will be ignored
Internet circles are the last place you should be trying to make any friends. This is why I don't fuck with online art circles, stream chats or skype chats. It's like you're in highschool all over again, but these people are suppose to be grown adults. It's obnoxious. If you want to meet competent people who also like to draw and have a good head on their shoulders, get out of your house and take a life drawing class.
Sucks. I just want to find some art friends I can get feedback from and share tips/ideas with.
I know what you're talking about though. These groups are always really unproductive and filled with memers. Honestly, you'd probably have better luck finding productive art people on a forum, because chan culture is already so oriented towards memes, depressive shut ins and internet addicts without self-control. It's easier to find focused people on forums since they use names.
probably won't be able to hang out too often but I guess I'll give it a try
here's a sample of my work
Same reason I left the ancient irc chat (that tehmeh and other oldfags used).
They were just all assholes, not to mention it was just the tehmeh fanclub made for stroking his ego and he was the biggest asshole of all
Same experience back in the day. They didn't even want to be associated with /ic/ and it was all about drama. Tehmeh was the first pro that I looked up to that I got to talk to and his asshole remarks and his cronies even worse ones left a lasting impression to never act like that to noobs if I ever become a pro.
(skype acc since 16yearold anifag)
might kick me back into gear if I interract with some motivated individuals
I wanna do comics, animation, storyboarding, all that shit
It isn't MLP, have some OCs though
Still trying to git gud
Being in several groups like these, I'd advise all of you not to expect that much productivity in the actual chats. What we do most of the time is find a few people we get along with there, and then you PM them and can go full productive. Because when chats get large, it's impossible to control everyone and force them to be productive/on topic while still keeping the chat alive.
So maybe those of you complaining about chats being unproductive are just kept out of the more private conversations. Though I'm not in the groups that were mentioned in this thread, so I can't be sure.
But because you can find individuals to talk more with privately in those chats, I'd say it's a good experience. That way you get critiques and advice from people who know you, see a progression in your work, and not people on /ic/ who only see one piece of your work. You learn a lot more from it and you get friends, of course.
I feel you, I get a ton of nigger jokes and /pol/-tier stuff thrown in previous chats that I've been to. Despite being black, it weirdly doesn't hurt me. I can't tell whether I'm apathetic about it or that I find it amusing.
I'm relatively convinced I lack the talent to take art seriously, so I probably won't even be drawing by the time the holidays are over, but feel free to add if you want to talk to someone about literature or film or theatre
My advice is find people on or very near your level and just befriend them. Don't waste your time with groups as they never work. All the so claimed "srs" groups I've joined over the years have always fell to the same fate and only 1 person takes it seriously, eventually leaving.
A lot of jaded individuals in this thread it seems. It's really just about taking what you can from each group, I already have pretty good bunch of contacts from the few skype groups I've joined.
hmu I do studies everyday now that I'm on break
johnmblaz I think. I suck at Skype because G+ is more useful.
>tfw have few pieces small enough to post
Some nigga whose over enthusiastic about cartoon discussion. I also draw.
>Join an /ic/ skype group during summer
>Everyone a little scared at first, dipping their toes in the waters
>Slowly get conversation going
>Most of the people are from the porn threads
>"HEY GUYS DO U LIKE STEVEN UNIVERSE TOO???"
>General circlejerking about the porn fags they admire
>Multiple foreigners with bad grammar
>Give redlines and advice expecting beginners to correct their drawings
>"yeah ok got it thx!"
>It comes back with none of the approvements I suggested
>Every fucking time
>Give it straight when I get frustrated
>"Lol a bunch of /ic/ tryhards why u so salty"
>Some anime fag convinced that loomis is just a meme
>Check their tumblr
>Nothing but drawings of his waifus in generic anime positions
>1 or 2 people who actually care about improving their skills rather than gaining an internet following asap cuz le patreon xD
>Talk about networking "hurr durr you need to be on every social media or ur a dweeb"
Im already in /ic/ group on Skyper but i don't mind to have new connections.
youre gonna love me
love having people to practice with and bounce around creative energy
self aware sjw furry trash, engage at your own risk
Sure I'll bite,Beginner though.example of my work
Loomis is a meme to tell people who made forum threads on where to start back in the day as a quick, nice way to say "fuck off". He was recommended because it was out of print and easily attainable and that's it.
Godzillaomg is my skype
I'm looking for artfriends that want to draw everyday and improve. if you're busy that's okay too.
photo not related.
I think the lesson to be learned here is that we're all taking the internet way too seriously. If you're is getting upset over small arguments on the internet or what have you, you may want to consider just shutting off the computer (or at least Skype) and just going for a walk. Hell, take your sketchbook with you and go draw.
I don't understand where people get the idea they can prank people they don't know and expect everything to be cool. There is no underlining trust established (ie friendship) with strangers or people you've just met. You aren't entitled to forgiveness, let alone from someone you barely know if you act like a little shit and tag "jk" at the end. It doesn't work that way.
Here you go, fresh out of the oven.
looking to improve painting ... and share useful stuff maybe. I use the program Krita since Photoshop isn't sold in my country. If anyone's got tips for that go ahead..
age 22 looking for a skype group that's into studies and showing each other's work
preferably a group in college and not into weird shitty anime horseporn or some shit like that
might nervously lurk first
That's more or less a general statement toward the way people act on the internet. People act like shitheads to strangers and expect forgiveness because "it's the internet". You have to be socially inept to think that's how social interactions work.
> 6 people sent me a contact request
>literally neither of them even said anything for 5 days.
what's the point of even collecting contacts if you're going to be anti-social regardless :/
