What is this positivism boogieman that you are all afraid of?
You have to keep using ritual meme offerings to the gods (or perhaps more literally, your Christian God) to drive away the evil demons of positivism or something.
Positivist doctrines say that the only statements worth talking about are ones you can empirically and/or scientifically test. Positivists have notably failed to be able to put that statement through any sort of empirical and/or scientific testing.
>caring about what autists who can't into beauty or faith have to say about the nature of reality
I shiggy, I diggy, I shiggy diggy doo
>>caring about what autists who can't into beauty or faith have to say about the nature of reality
Christians have absolutely no experience with beauty, in even the most primitive sense.
God's shadow, God's shadow, you can't see past it. I've left the cave and seen God himself, and then said, "look at the sun, you aren't shit without me here".
>implying true religion isn't leaving the cave of materialism, hedonism, and servility to our lower nature
Most Christians are as bad as fedoras, you're right, but no one sees Plato's Sun without coming away with a belief in what is beyond the human
>but no one sees Plato's Sun without coming away with a belief in what is beyond the human
You're right, that's why Zoroaster saw the last man, the ubermensch, and other visions.
Except, beyond the human and the otherworldly are not one-in-the-same. You're probably confusing that.
You mean Zarathustra? He wasn't supposed to reflect the beliefs of the historical Zoroaster.
That said, otherworldly or not, we're both talking about a state of being/consciousness that transcends the material
Zoroaster and Zarathustra are the same person.
>He wasn't supposed to reflect the beliefs of the historical Zoroaster.
No, but the historical account is that he actually spent 10 years in a cave.
>That said, otherworldly or not, we're both talking about a state of being/consciousness that transcends the material
Which you can find without God, Christianity or anything else. In fact, without God and Christianity you're destined to find a superior transcendence.
Positivist philosophy i.e. science, has so far been the most successful branch of philosophy in terms of allowing us to understand and manipulate the world. Nothing else even comes close.
Work on your bait a little harder next time.
>Philosopher is an analytic utilitarian positivist Jew who only talks about issues relating to money
>my rigorous and definite understanding of human relations has no issues
Have I been deceived by the American education system once again?
>doesn't even lift
>It's [current year]
You can't make this shit up.
By the way, what was the year atheism switched to being right?
Pic related because it's the face of 2016.
