there are imagedump threads in the archives, posters and pamphlets alone provide very little to discuss.
>The spitfire pilot has a halo
Some Japanese propaganda targeted at Filipinos
I like this one because
>UK backs the Whites in the Civil War
>UK does not declare war on USSR when they invade Poland
>UK allies with USSR to defeat Nazis
>UK then joins NATO against USSR/Warsaw Pact for the next few decades
just shows how fast things change in world politics
This site is incredible.
Well, I don't know about propaganda artists who became cartoonists, but quite a few political cartoonists did produce some very good work.
The right one is a fake. It was made in 2014 by some Ukrainian, IIRC.
Well, there was this one propagandist named Theodor Geisel you might have heard of...
German propaganda distributed to the allies.
Apparently the fear of getting cucked is the best assault on morale.
If I stop to take a crap,
They say I’m helping a Jap.
If I take time off to take a drink,
They say I’m cheating a chink.
If I slow down because I’m ailin’
They say I’m robbing Joseph Stalin.
If I don’t pay my income taxes,
They say I’m helping the whole damn Axis.
So I’ll work like Hell and never stop,
I will stay on the job until I drop.
I’ll piss in my pants,
I’ll shit in my shoes,
And save the world
For the God damn Jews
This one is amazing. Someone posted it in a previous thread.
this is interesting
>A Japanese soldier was seen to examine one of the leaflets and then throw it on the ground, grinding it under his heel as he muttered 'Mujokan Kofuku,' the most despised term a Japanese soldier can utter, 'surrender.' From the time a Japanese can understand the meaning of simple words it is driven into his mind that the worse crime he can commit is to surrender. For this there is no forgiveness and one who surrenders sacrifices everything; his property, honor, rights, rights in life and after-life, and the respect of his fellow man.
>Our experts in psychological warfare held a huddle and came up with a new one, replacing the 'I surrender' on the leaflet with 'I cease resistance.' It worked.
>The Japanese indoctrination was not based on logic or intelligent thought. The Japanese knows that he must not 'mujoken kofuku' and that is all. There is nothing in his learning that prohibits the cessation of resistance.
This is what happens when you try to program your soldiers like robots.
You'd be surprised how far Greek myth spread over the millennia. There was a King in Malaysia (Johor I think?) back in the medieval ages who claimed descent from Alexander the great for example.
Not to mention anyone who could read an English-language pamphlet would've been educated in an English school and probably read Greek literature at some point.
"At times of need, we all will be soldiers"
Poster made during the battle of Stalingrad in the anticipation of a German victory.
>The help from England
Britain bombed german military institutions and ships in Norway. This sometimes lead to collateral damage upon the Norwegian civilians.
Thank you for fake poster.
God, I hate russian liberals and their shitty fakes.
Here's something a little bit different and interesting, propaganda of the very short-lived state of Carpatho-Ukraine and its army known as Carpathian Sich.
"Join the lines of Carpathian Sich!"
I fucking love the cross of Lorraine btw. It goes well with fucking everything.
I think white dog is Poland, black is Hungary (?) and snake is I don't even know.
"There's your own truth in your house" or something like that, it's a line from a poem.
Father and mother!
We don't want to live as slaves and servants of foreigners, we want to be our own masters on our land!
Father, don't believe ones who want you to sell us for a piece of meat and 30 pieces of silver and make janissaries out of us!
We, children of Carpatho-Ukraine, want to grow up on free Ukrainian land!
dumping red army
propoganda during the red army's advance westward had a large influence on reprisal killings/rapes
Due to white American resentment towards African-American access to dance halls and for associating with "white girls on the streets of Brisbane", troops of the U.S. 208th Coast Artillery rioted for 10 nights in March 1942, fighting against African-Americans from the 394th Quartermaster Battalion. As a result, U.S. military authorities segregated African-Americans, restricting them to the south side of the Brisbane River. However, trouble continued with a major race riot at Wacol, knife fights in South Brisbane and American military police assaulting or killing black troops simply for crossing the Brisbane River
>American soldier, give up the fight and go home so you can fuck the wives of your comrades
Love how these old time posters merge diformed humans faces with gas masks, which also resemble beaks, which turn into the omnipresent theme of skeletic scavenger eagles stalking, formed from planes and/or men.
"Defending Madrid is defending Catalonia" (it's in catalan).
Technically not WW2 but spanish civil war is pretty connected with it. Will at least post 4 more.
"Soldier, be clean! Hygiene preserves your health". Apparently the red side had some trouble with it's soldiers being kinda dirty.
"A drunkard is a parasite: Let's eliminate him! t. Department of Public Order of Aragon".
"Join the catalan militia of Madrid to defend civilization against fascist"
Notice that the fascist weapon to destroy civilization is a moor. Multiculturalism as we understand it now was not a part of red Spain's ideology.
>Protecting God of Asia, the Japanese Forces
"The militia needs you (plural)". This one like the 5 and unlike the 2 is in catalan instead of spanish.
No more civil war posters, so let's end with this german one.
Everything about this picture, from the international army of QTs, the golden armor to the solid broken swastika is so tastefully overdone.
Maybe the Filipinos would actually listen if you didn't draw them with negro hair and lips like they came straight out of the cuckolding pictures you give the Americans.
Fuck your shit, Nil Hasevych time, because woodcut propaganda is not something you see every day. Also I like his style.
>Freedom to nations, freedom to man!
>USSR is a prison of the people!
>Ukrainian Insurgent Army is fighting against imperialists and empires
"Freedom to nations, freedom to man" on the flag again. That was a popular slogan of Ukrainian nationalists after 1943.
>22nd of January is a Day of Ukrainian Statehood
That's when Unification act of Ukrainian People's Republic and West Ukrainian People's Republic was signed.
Also note Kievan warrior, Zaporozhian cossack and insurgent all together, it's a common motive with all Ukrainian propaganda, even today's one but they add actual Ukrainian army soldier to them.
That one was directed to Red Army soldiers, naturally.
Simple diagram showing how to distribute parts manufacturing to different places.
This seems the appropriate thread to ask.
Anyone got this pic without the text?
Hungary, WW2, the sentence says "Azért is!", which kinda means "just for the sake of it!", because Hungary was the last country which capitulated before the fall of Berlin, the Red army had to fight for 5 month at Budapest.
I'm on mobile right now so can't run a reverse search but I'll try when I get home. I know I've seen it as a glicee print before and it shouldn't be hard to find a clean file.
I reccomend downloading tineye if you want to be able to do this yourself.
I love how casual this guy is. Just out for a refreshing Sunday bombing run.
