And a shit load of garbage and awful translation is in Latin as well, often without any explanation whatsoever. Go look up the Vulgate, Genesis 2:25 and 3:1.
>erant autem uterque nudi Adam scilicet et uxor eius et non erubescebant
>sed et serpens erat callidior cunctis animantibus terrae quae fecerat Dominus Deus qui dixit ad mulierem cur praecepit vobis Deus ut non comederetis de omni ligno paradisi
No mention whatsoever that the same Hebrew word, Anglecized as "arum" is the active descriptor for both the nakedness of Adam and Eve and the cunning of the serpent, and holding a great deal of meaning for the themes of knowledge and responsibility that are at the core of the Eden story.
99% of translation, all translation, is utter crap. Nevermind the theological biases you'll get so that a Jewish Bible is markedly different from a Christian bible, and all the differences you get in the Christian bibles from sect to sect. Most of them can't even get basic grammar right.(It's usually worse with the OT for whatever reason)
Learn the original languages before you go meddling in translations. At the very least, it'll give you a way to spot-check the translations for bullshit, whether intentional or otherwise.
All these people saying to go learn a bunch languages which nobody speaks.
The best translation in the public domain is Rotherham's Emphasized Bible, it transcribes the Tetragrammaton in place if Jehovah or LORD.
Sir Lacelot Brenton's is the best translation of the Septuagint.
The Mechanical Translation is an online project that may shed light on the original thought behind the Hebrew of the Old Testament. http://mechanical-translation.org/
There's also a translation of the Samaritan Pentateuch that's been published recently http://www.amazon.com/Israelite-Samaritan-Version-Torah-Translation/dp/0802865194/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1453571700&sr=1-1&keywords=samaritan+pentateuch

If you have an interest as to the exact meaning of a particular verse your best bet is to use lexicons, dictionaries and an interlinear bible to decipher the passage word for word.
