Yep, not only was cooperatization popular, it was massively successful as well, the next step onto collectivization with absolutely retarded top down agricultural methods was the biggest disaster.

Even if his ideas actually did have some form of logic (the cultural revolution actually made quite a lot of sense in it's original purpose to fight nomenclature and stagnation), they were always carried out in the worst way possible.

Also the backstabbing of The Hundred Flowers campaign because fuckhead CCP politicians couldn't handle the bantz and the party started pressuring Mao to put an end too it was a huge betrayal of not only Socialism but Mao's own teachings.

Not so much, look at China today, the more it liberalizes its markets, the more their markets become more and more fucked and volatile. It seems China had a decent balance in the 1980s/1990s but then too far into Capitalist land in the 00s allowing themselves to be subject to Capitalist Crisis.

China is going to be the flashpoint for the next financial crisis and it's probably not going to look good as the CCP loses all economic credibility.
