Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was famous for his wacky tactics.
I know he once painted wooden logs to make them look like missiles to fool the english. (The french did something similar with fake tanks)
What else did he do?
>>576917
He used to poo twice a day (not even kidding).
>>576923
But in loo or in tank?
Russians built an entire fake Moscow out of plywood to fool the Luftwaffe into bombing it.
>>576957
Lel really?
When did they have the time? They were caught completely by surprise by Operation Barbarossa.
>>576962
You know there's like 7 months between the beginning of Barbarossa and the end of the battle of Moscow right
>>576971
Didn't they start attacking Moscow in september, after about 4 months?
Also, weren't german planes scouting the city first? Didn't they notice all the building efforts?
>>576957
I´ve heard that the luftwaffe bombed it....with wood logs
>>576996
The fake Moscow was actually a model by the germans built out of plywood and attacked by the RC Luftwaffe. They then proceeded to document it to a real event to confuse the soviets

*russians
>>577018
That war was such a clusterfuck. I'm almost sure it never really happened. Nobody really died. All the pictures were fake.
>>577028
Except the 6 gorillion, obviously, right?
>>576957
>Russians built an entire fake Moscow out of plywood
No, they didn't. They just tried (unsuccessfully) to disguise the most important buildings with some plywood additions.

During the Siege of Tobruk in 1941, he made his tankers get out of their tanks and charge into the city with rifles.
I'm still not entirely sure why, desu.
he's so wacky he didn't slay kikes and told his troops not to slay kikes when rolling around in north africa, then was forced to consume a cyanide pill for disgracing hitler hahaha
what a WACKY fella!!!
>>576923
The absolute madman
>>576923
Wait... is there something wrong with that?
>>577381
Only if you do it in loo and not in street.
>>577320
Rommel was an originally the infantry commander. He might have recognized that the situation called for infantry rather thank tanks.
>>576917
Another dead nazi fuck.
>>577532
This.
>>577532
He wasn't really a nazi, which is why is he so overrated by western sources.
>MUH TRUE GENTLEMAN
>*tips officer hat*
>>577532
Rommel despised Hitler and was a fan of Churchill. He was, however, a strong anti-bolshevist.
He is without a doubt one of the best commanders of the war.
>>577539
He did ride Hitler's coattails rather firmly, and always went crying to the Fuhrer when his superiors tried to rein him in.
>>577532
t. historically illiterate
>>577539
Nah, he was a Nazi that's the point of people overrating him
He's perpetrated by Nazi sympathizers or edgy teens trying to evoke a "Noble Nazi" image.
>"if not all Nazis wanted to kill jews then the National Socialist idealogy wasn't that bad! they even have awesome guys like erwin rommel, if rommel was a nazi then nazis are cool"
Rommel is an overrated general who certainly was aware of the slaughter going on. He's no Himmler, but he's just as culpable as any high ranking member. Perhaps he had a change of heart near the end that caused him to take out hitler, but that is ignoring years where he stood by and watched it happen
>>577552
>He is without a doubt one of the best commanders of the war.
Please, Manstein, Guderian, Kesselring, Rundstedt, and Bock were all clearly better, and that's just counting multiple corps commanders in Germany.
